All these years passed by since I was a toddler. Going through all the phases, there was one thing in common, people. Not just any other people but those with whom I shared a connection through some form of interaction and it's pretty much true for anyone, they have people around whether they're rich or poor, people always exist. Their natures may differ : caring or hateful, cheering or demotivating, friendly as heaven or foes like hell but it's among these crowd only who will cling to you with a tenacity to bring out the best of you until your chapter ends here. These are those people only who give the word "friendship" an emotional or rather spiritual touch to it. Yes you call them "friends".
Friendship can be considered as the very first soothing interaction between any two people. Right from birth, mom befriends kid when she can't even guess what they are up to and a while later, their friendship strengthens to degrees of immortality. Even when we are grown up, dad often says consider me you friend and tell me what's the thing? Don't you think why dads say so? Isn't it because its a symbol of comfort and warmth and tells us that there are some kind of secrets only friends can know. Right at this moment, if you give it a thought, your own secrets with friends, it will bring a smile to your face.
How they become so important :
From early school days, you get along with many kiddos and some of them explicitly match your vibe and mostly, one of them is so compatible that you even become inseparable. As you grow up, its always that a very few keep in touch and for rest of them, you have sweetest of memories of how you played millions of crazy games together counting till hundred for everyone to hide, chasing friends and taking pause when you get exhausted, jumping-rope being your all time favorite and many games which don't even exist in classic books of games for children and are from nowhere but your collective imaginations.
The higher classes raise the bar for this word called friendship. This is the part when you know who pushes you positively, knows you better than anyone and is there for you when no one dares to. Also, you have a lot more to share ; secret crushes no one knows about, extra classes after school, plans for outing on vacations every now and then, visiting each other's place and knowing families too, exams as villains, bunks and above all, happiness in each other's joy. Living through each other's lives, they become important for life and by the time school ends, they've already made their spots in heart which will be carried away to the graves.
College phase is really something else. Professional environment nurturing a connected setup and friendship giving meaning to life again. The best of the friendships are made in college. By this time, we really need people to rely on. Parents aren't there especially in hostel setup for academics. From sharing rooms to having all the meals together, attending classes to making projects together and sleeping to the songs of favorite artists, participating in the college events and team sports, we all end up knowing things as personal as bathroom schedule. It's the level when we know a person's heart and can read their mind like an open book. Promises are made to be there for each other always and trips of lifetimes are planned. They get connected to soul and when you leave college, you automatically become to be family friends. They become so important as they know you at microscopic level.
Something to take away :
Though I am no spiritual guru to teach you about friendship but I am the one who have had a huge load of his share of experiences.
Never break the bro code.
Don't spoil your bond over worthless fights and since they are inevitable, talk through them with calm intellect. Such experiences strengthen the bond to an even better state.
Never lie to these all time best supporters of yours.
Your real value is when you dare to stay by their side when no one can.
Be the adamantium link among your friends rather than the loose chain between them.
Enjoy their growth and wish for their wellbeing always.
Push them for best and support much as you can.
Mutual growth is something that can be achieved fruitfully by working together and setting goals thus attaining teamwork skills out of precious bonds.
Show your trust in them even if they don't trust themselves and it will bring the widest of smiles on your face when they will shine.
Graduating college together brings tears and forges even stronger chains of faith.
Enjoy and cherish your tribe.
