If you have been exposed to any kind multiplayer experience you must have heard of CSGO a very famous first person shooter game and it's really my all time favorite. If you are or were a hosteler in any of the colleges across India or globally, you probably would have played or heard of its community and it has a big craze among youngsters. It's a LAN game basically and it's tournaments are a major part of ESPORTS tournament all over the world. I will take you down to the very implementation of such game networks and the craziness this game offers to gamers.

Server concept :

Most of us are well aware of online games these days in which you can play along with your friends in lobby. Have you ever wondered how it works over internet? If you have, you might have come across the word server. Consider the game as a real time software transmitting your data like when you hit someone with bullet, their health point drops, when you revive someone with a health shot their health replenishes also, you might have faced a lag in game when there is a poor internet connection. All of this change in game state and lag is related to local stations from where you connect and receive response. Servers are places with really powerful machines installed to process and deliver data at superfast pace over internet. If you guys are making a lobby, you need other lobbies or lobby to fight you. So, your IP addresses get connected to a server when you find a game and through that local station, exchange of data takes place which updates every thing in real time. Its very common to come across this word these days when you play any of multiplayer games. This is as much as I can go about servers in easy terms but I hope you understand how multiplayer games work over internet and how you friends can talk in a lobby using microphone, see real time game changes and all the exchange of data.

Concept of CSGO :

It has a very amazing concept of two sides namely terrorists and counter terrorists. There are 15 rounds on each side i.e. you will get to be terrorist for 15 rounds and then counter terrorist for another 15 rounds(that is of course if you can play full 30 rounds) otherwise whichever team wins 16 rounds first wins.

There are many maps and when you search for a game, you can either search individually selecting your favorite map or in a lobby of five. Then you will be pitched against another team of five on that map through matchmaking according to your ranks. Then the game will start after a short warmup.

There are two bomb sites on every map and counter terrorists guard those site while terrorists aim to detonate one of those by planting bomb over there. The entire brawl is over capturing sites and guarding sites. There is only one site that is to be detonated and if done, terrorists win that round otherwise counter 30 terrorists succeed in guarding and win. Every round lasts 2 minutes 30 seconds and if there is no bomb plant done by terrorists, counter terrorists win automatically.

Craze all over the globe :

You can explore on twitch, youtube, fiver(csgo coaches) and pretty much any streaming platform, you fill find a hell lot of people sharing their screen while they play and they get hefty sum for good plays as the number of their subscribers increases. Not only this, esport events many leagues take place round the year and different rosters from all over the world participate to show their caliber. Recently, the craze of esports have also taken air in Asia and youngsters are joining the movement with great enthusiasm. It is rising as a lucrative career opportunity for many gamers who are crazy about team and multiplayer games.

Strategy and teamwork is at core of these games and believe me if you have that game sense, movements and flexibility, you can earn millions playing leagues after getting signed up with a roster but it sure is competitive as hell and challenging too as majority of families not really love the idea of gaming as a career at least here in my country.

How it's related to me :

I really have devoted majority of my college life to this game. We have played LAN tournaments, online lobby and pretty much every form of this game. It was a moment of outmost joy and teamwork playing this game with my friends in college when we had a league going and we represented a roster. We had mechanism of bidding in college and then, we selected players from all the years. Generally the best players were those who used to bid for other 4 players of their team and then we had a LAN setup in one of the hostels of seniors and we played like real gaming tournament over there with a local server of our own. It was really an amazing experience inspecting the game of both the teams from server room and the intensity to which teams used to go, all the cheering for favorite players of ours when we were not playing and the cool gaming aliases we had. My college life is closely linked to this game and I still enjoy it till date with my friends over internet.

If you are a gaming enthusiast, do try it and challenge yourself. It takes time to learn but gives outmost joy when you get a hang of it and who knows, someday you will represent a roster and have a career in it only.
