SWOT Analysis
When I was a senior high student our adviser tackle this SWOT analysis in our class and the point of this SWOT analysis is to analyze your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. SWOT analysis is also use in group but let us just focus on personal SWOT analysis.
What is SWOT Analysis?
SWOT analysis stands for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. You can use this SWOT analysis to know your advantages in workplace or in school and to understand what you are lacking and eliminate the threats that you are unaware of.
How to conduct SWOT Analysis in yourself?
To clarify this let me explain the four areas in SWOT analysis which are the strengths and weaknesses as internal factors and opportunities and threats as external factors.
STRENGTH - these are the things that is already in yourself, talent, social skills, your expertise, school awards and certificates. Everything that makes you stand out from the rest are your strengths.
WEAKNESSES - this step is where you identify your weaknesses. Identifying your weaknesses is the best way to improve them. List down all the traits that you want to improve and be honest. If you are a shy type and not good in communication skills list it all down and use it as a stepping stone to improve yourself.
OPPORTUNITIES - in this area it is more related to your strengths. Opportunities comes in different shape or form and you don't even notice them passing by. Some example of opportunities is a drawing contest, because you know to draw and you are good at it you can add this as an opportunity that you can benefit. Just remember opportunities matches your strengths.
THREATS - these are the things that affect you in your career. Example is your personality traits or having a family problem that disturb your focus in your career goal. Threats are obstacle that prevent you to achieve your goal. So list it all down, find a solution to it and try to eliminate the threats that you can.
