The Eyes Men

The eyes, they saw you

They really saw you

They knew what it meant to see

They asked you,

"Can you see?"

You said yes

For you have "seeing eyes"

But do we see?

What does it mean;

To grasp insight,

To look inside,

And let truth take the reins

That's what it meant

To know the TRUTH.

You thought you began to understand

"I need to know the truth"

You told the eyes

And they asked you

"Can you understand it?"

"Of course I can" you said.

Who else is better suited,

You have a thinking brain

You are the "smartest"

As far as you know

But ignorance is bliss

And they told you;

Your mind is too shallow,

You cannot grasp the truth

And you have never lived true

Forever shackled in chains

Chains of lies

Chains of shame.
