What I don't like at all is throwing away older electrical devices and replacing them even though they still work. At work, a new laptop was to be bought because the existing device had become very slow. After a quick look at the component workloads, it was clear that the HDD hard drive was permanently at full capacity. So I bought a new SSD, cloned the system, installed the SSD and voila: An almost new computer that reacts extremely fast for its age. Small cause, big effect. Sometimes it's really easy to save resources and money.

I am with you on this. I do not like upgrades just for the sake of upgrades when what I have gives me what I want.
Thank you for reminding me, I need to do something with our laptops.
My father in law did that with both his machine and MamaRah's totally revolutionised performance. I got a ndw laptop with an SSD back in January and it is still as fast as the day I bought it. HDD drives used to do that but maybe only for the first month.
