Ferrero Chocolates This box of Ferrero chocolates was gifted to me by my friend who visited me a few days ago. She resides in the US and visits India to spend time with her parents. I had a few chocolates in the fridge which I just finished and now I shall open this box. Join me.

"The Invincible You" a poem I composed a long time ago Sharing it with you . Hope you like it THE INVINCIBLE YOU You need not be a committee member To awaken people from their slumber Your deeds, your actions play the role To churn the feelings in a soul. Wait not for praise nor fame Alas it’s not worth the game Just live your life a good one too Let people see what you do It spreads like fire just you wait When it happens you feel great! Live the word of divine life There’s joy in struggle and in strife. People watch the way you live They feel happy when you give You are the drop that makes the ocean Keeping the world ever in motion Society never consults you Making rules that suit a few Take the wand in your hand And create for you a happy land Worry not what people say Please yourself in every way Let not the world order you To be happy is your due You play your role as good as you can Spreading kindness in your lifespan Do your bit and do it well Let your actions cast the spell! And when the day comes to part You can say it from your heart I have been fair, truthful and kind. A better world I’ve left behind.

Butterfly pea flowers I did not expect this vine to survive but they seem to do well in heavy rains. I had bought the seeds online and whatever I buy online never does well in my garden. I now have hopes I can propagate this flower when seeds form and hope to convert my garden into a violet hue. I clicked this photo this morning and I did not expect this flower.

@ilovetowrite

The joy when seeds germinate I have always liked to have flowers starting from scratch as they say. I buy seeds online and sow them waiting patiently for them to come up. Watching them grow to a size that is ready for transplant is time well spent But many times I fail to see them live long enough for them to start to bloom but that is life in a garden

Training session - a memory We have had many cats and now we just have Peppie Unlike dogs cats are not trained by human beings but I have noticed the bigger cats teach the smaller ones In the photo you see Lolly the bigger cat training Peppie when he was a kitten. Lolly is showing how to climb up to the ventilator. Their activity always brought joy in our life.

@ilovetowrite

The baby birds are back The baby birds had disappeared when we had those kittens chasing them. Peppie is a big boy now and he leaves the birds alone. Those days when we had kittens we have seen them catching those birds and playing with them until they were dead.

Water balloons - a memory At a Christmas party I introduced water balloons This device was new to me as well and so I had fun to see the balloons getting filled with water. I asked the guests to water the garden with these balloons and the child in every adult came to the fore

Naughty Peppie Peppie rules the roost out here. Does what pleases him. We had kept that soft toy on the couch. He pushes it down and takes its place. He has the whole house and garden to snooze but no he decides to push that soft toy down No I was not angry I like when Peppie does such things. I find it cute.

Jack fruit snack Prepared this a few days ago We have jack fruits in our garden and we make this snack atleast once a year. Jack fruit is ground together with rice and jaggery. Coconut is later mixed and spread on fig leaves and steamed. A delicious snack if you like jack fruits

@ilovetowrite

Ficus and the areca palms The ficus and the areca palms dominate our garden. They self propagate and seem to like the weather rain or shine. We need to pull out some of them as they take up alot of space. Some areca palms have grown taller than even our coconut trees which is abnormal.

Peppie and his stretching exercises Give it to Peppie when it comes to the kind of exercises he performs. It is his own making No yoga guru has given him lessons. On the contrary he could well be a yoga guru for us I am learning things from him Would you want to make him your yoga guru?

Broken wheat porridge This is my favourite porridge better than the oatmeal porridge. I soak broken wheat overnight and cook it in water. Once cooked I add jaggery ghee, raisins and cashew nuts and then add milk. Broken wheat has a lot of nutrients such as fibre, carbs, protein and no fat.

Had a tough time choosing It was a bright day today. I just came out this evening and for clicking photos I normally do in the mornings but what I saw up in the sky tempted me to grab my camera and click away. Each clip was worth storing in my folder. The blue skies with patches of white fluffy clouds - a photographer's delight. How could I ignore those views? Sharing with you.

Not one for artiificial flowers but... Someone wanted me to do some search and look for an artificial bouquet. I did exactly that and found this one Although I do not like artificial flowers and do not have them in my house but I was balled over looking at this bouquet that looks natural What say? These flowers deserve a pride of place I chose these flowers for my avatar as these are flowers that lever let me down. I have them blooming throughout the year rain or shine They just need a bit of water. I have them in two sizes. The smaller size is planted on the terrace a full row of it.

Heavy rain destroyed most of my Tithonia plants There were many saplings that I transferred and they were growing beautifully. But heavy rain continuously for many days stunted their growth and now just one of two are surviving. Tithonia are beautiful and they have always added colour to our garden.

@ilovetowrite

White Ixora I had clicked this photo quite some time back and now I do not see it in my garden. The garden has grown with a lot of greenery and hopefully the plant should be there hiding I will only know when the plant starts blooming again I have many colours of the Ixora but this one seems to be hiding.

Mother cat Kittie the mother cat was a part of our life although she did not live with us. She would bring one of her offsprings over each time she delivered and she delivered seven times. She would wait till they could eat solid food. She had full faith in us that we would care for her little once and we did. But for reasons unknow they would not come back from their stroll. They had all grown and were adults. In fact one of them had her own kid.

I miss my pet but not so much the maid We lost our pet dog Preiti about 3 years ago leaving behind happy memories. The maid worked for us around 10 years but we asked her to leave as she had many personal problems that we could not help her cope. She had loads of relatives in the vicinity and that took her attention away too. We now have a new maid and she is quick to learn. We took time to get someone from far away and we succeeded. Hoping we will have her for many years.

@ilovetowrite

Hope to see them soon We have had a set back with our bougainvillea that did not show up this season on account of heavy showers. We have them planted all over and they always added colour. Hopefully if the rains subside we should see them again around September.

Favourite of the parrots Due to rains the tree does not have many bilimbis. The photo was taken when the tree had them. Bilimbis are the favourite of the parrots. They will just nibble and drop the shreds on the ground. Whether they eat them at all is not known. Since it is raining we do not see parrots here but they will soon appear when the tree gets loaded again.

@ilovetowrite

Pineapple It is a pleasant sight to see the growth of pineapples. We have a few plants and we have to keep watching as it is the favourite of the mongoose that roam around in our garden. There have been times we did not get any as they were all snatched by the mongoose. Keeping our fingers crossed.

When will I get to wear this? Ever since the pandemic I have not socialised except those parties I throw of the less privileged Each time I have that party I buy a new outfit for myself and also get something for my nice I bought this for one such party but have not worn it again. When will that be?

View for the passers by These are bougainvillea leaning out of our compound wall that nature decides passsersby should view them and not us. There is so much that nature interferes over which we have no control. This year we did not have these flowers as rains and bougainvillea do not go hand in hand.

Crows in our bird bath Crows are not necessarily clean as they are actually scavengers but they too need to dip when the climate is hot. Here is a crow having some good time enjoying a bath in our birdbath. I watched it and clicked this photo.
