I heared you internet people like cute cats? On a delivery tour today I met these two beautiful creatures. The cat and the grasshopper were playing catch with each other. But everything was relaxed and without aggression, which amazed me. In the end, the grasshopper preferred to come to me and climbed up my legs. Cute little guy, I put him in the grass where he belongs.

We took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent some time by the river. You can tell it's getting to be autumn, but my son is always hungry for a chocolate-vanilla ice cream. Even one of the paddle steamers passed by, always a nice sight, I like these old ships.

A pretty early good morning for a Saturday! My son decided to get up quite early. Too early, if you ask me. So I have no choice but to make coffee, prepare breakfast and pretend to be awake. The passenger steamer Diesbar is the only paddle steamer here that still runs on coal. It was put into service in 1884. Normally ships have female names and are a she. Diesbar is different. He is the only male ship in the fleet. I like to put myself in the old days and wanted to depict the ship accordingly. So you can see the Diesbar at the turn of the 20th century, in the middle of the last century and today.

The German autobahn is known for not having a speed limit. Unfortunately, this is only true in parts. Too often, the speed is dictated by the amount of vehicles around. Today I actually managed to do the 240 km in less than 3 hours for once and drive safely too. After all the road works this year, this is bordering on a miracle and is definitely worth a mention here. 🎈🎉

There was a time when contrails in the sky were quite normal. Everyone who could afford it flew everywhere. And there was a time when there were almost no planes in the sky, you know what I'm talking about. Now there are more again and that should be a reason to rejoice. Drunken butterfly I saw today that butterflies apparently like alcohol. The laurel cherries fall and start to ferment, the whole yard smells like a pub. The butterfly likes it, it keeps coming back and feasting on it. I also had the impression that it navigates more slowly in the air.

There are some nice fountains in the city centre that help to cool down the concreted shopping mile and create a place to rest. I really like the first fountain, it is very simple and elegant, made of steel and glass and probably illuminated in the dark. The sparrows also like to use it as a bathing spot. We had a widespread power outage across the region today. Many cities were affected at the same time and nothing worked at my work either. The time has come. Outside it's between 5 and 25°C, depending on the time of day, and the leaves are turning colourful. Bright sunshine and rain alternate. I really have problems finding the right clothes. Early to work with 3 layers and back home in the afternoon with a backpack full of clothes. #Autumn is exhausting but quite pretty to look at.

I am currently re-dyeing my black clothes in the washing machine. It's a bit scary to put two packets of black paint in a washing machine. I've never done this before, so hopefully the machine will still be usable afterwards.

A good friend sent me this (photo of a) mushroom that his son found - a "Cauliflower fungus / Krause Glucke" (Sparassis crispa). This one made a feast for the whole family. I wouldn't have thought it was edible but apparently it is a very tasty mushroom that grows on root wood and trunks of conifers. Learned something again.

The Yew tree - Tree of the Underworld The Yew tree (taxus baccata) is highly poisonous in almost all parts of the plant, so it is not recommended to taste the beautiful red fruits. I'm watching "1984" from 1956. Even though I've seen the film several times, it always manages to captivate me. The film conveys very well the feeling of total surveillance and control.
