Worldly passions

Today’s verse is a wonderful reminder. This who love Christ should check their focus in life. Focusing on the world and the pleasures obtainable leads down a path that takes us away from our Lord.

We have been given the Holy Spirit to be our guide, strength, and compassion. We have holy scripture to be our fortification and power. We have everything we need to strengthen our spirit and get our desires under control.

When we deny the world, we can find the peace and love of the Lord. We can go home to our Heavenly Father.
