Vainglory
“doing nothing through faction or through vainglory, but in lowliness of mind each counting other better than himself;”
Philippians 2:3 RV1895 https://bible.com/bible/1922/php.2.3.RV1895
This verse really sets the mindset that we should have is we truly love Christ and want to live like Him and keep his commandments.
In the Old Testament, there were hundreds of laws and rules for God’s people to follow. They encompassed most, but not all, situations. They had a solution from a cleansing, offering, or a stoning.
When Christ was here, he changed that. Some would argue that His commandment was more difficult than all the old ones. Simply, treat others as you want to be treated. Simply put, easy to test, but sometimes hard to do.
Unfortunately, our society and world doesn’t glorify the humble and meek. It teaches too stand out and be looked. Regardless what the situation, physical or virtual, remember that we should humble ourselves and not seek praise and glory from the world. Rather, seek praise and from the Lord. For her knows and sees all.
Follow His example, and not the one the world provides.
Amen. We Christians are called Christians ourselves because we are said to be followers of Christ, thus, we must live for it. 💗
