Trust in the Lord
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: But we will make mention of the name of the LORD our God. (Psalms 20:7 RV1895)
Wow today’s verse from psalms night sound out of date. I mean who would put trust in those ancient things -but I do love horses. But we can get the idea that they are talking about
This tells us that we can be secure and have better outcomes for ancient warfare with these tools—- but we have faith in the Lord. Wow. This is really a bigger picture.
During the ancient world, horses and chariots might improve your change of surviving, but it didn’t improve the chances of winning the war that much. If you’ve seen movies about these battles they were brutal and just like chess, defeating a king meant the kingdom was defeated.
So these words show the trust of the individuals in the Lord. Let’s have that mindset to. There are many tools that we have to help us be successful- Insuance, vehicles, investments, weapons, and family. However, let’s put our trust in the Lord first. He is great, mighty, loving, forgiving, and every positive thing you can imagine. He is just.
Amen, my friend in Christ
