Tribulation and hope
“And not only so, but let us also rejoice in our tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, probation; and probation, hope: and hope putteth not to shame; because the love of God hath been shed abroad in our hearts through the Holy Ghost which was given unto us.”
Romans 5:3-5 RV1895 https://bible.com/bible/1922/rom.5.3-5.RV1895
Today’s verse is a beautiful one and it’s perfect for anyone that’s having difficulty in life. Especially when it seems like the world is upside down and you’re falling.
As a teacher, I often run into questions about why bad things happen. It’s a difficult question to answer depending on the age of the inquirer.
Of course, once we have a few decades under our belts, we can see how the difficult things really shaped the person we have become. A lot of our characters also comes from the adversities.
On another level, some people go through things that most of us could never imagine. I have been through a lot, but there is still a lot that I haven’t and I’m grateful.
If you have been through something terrible, know that you are in my prayers and you are loved.
