The Love of the Lord

“The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that put their trust in him.” ‭‭Nahum‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭RV1895‬‬ bible.com/bible/1922/nam.1.7.RV1895 Today’s verse reminds us that God is good and He cares for us. But for me, I get more out of it. One of the points that I get is that God is not human. Whilst this sounds obviously really pointless, humans have a tendency to humanize everything. Everything from animals and weather to cars take in human characteristics and emotions. While some animals might take on human characteristics, most would argue that it is a move up the chain of command. If we assume God is like a human, I would assume that as an insult or a move down the chain. For me, this verse says, God is not like a human, something that ignores one thing one minute and loves it the next. God is so much more. He is love and always loves us. Regardless of how your day is going, he is there for you. The worse your day is going, the more you can lean on Him.
