Sacrifice Beyond Thought

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

This verse blows me away. To be selfless is great. It’s the highest form of sacrifice. While many of us are willing to sacrifice our pleasure, money, time, and life for ones, would you do it for people that didn’t like you? Would you do it for people that hate you? Would you do it knowing that others would be glad you’re gone? I don’t know how many of us would, but Jesus did.

It’s hard to imagine. He could have changed his mind and chose His will over his father’s. He could have chosen to treat his adversary differently. There is a lot of could bes. But the end result is know to all.

He died a terrible death for his father’s will. He died a terrible death for everyone else. He died a terrible death, because His love was limitless.

Let’s show our lives by being selfless.
