Perspective..neighbor
“For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Galatians 5:14 RV1895 bible.com/bible/1922/gal.5.14.RV1895
Today’s verse really sums up everything we need to be humble. This verse hits any ego problems hard. One problem that we all suffer from is anything we do is just…because we understand the backstory leading to our actions. If we truly regret our actions, we beat ourselves up about it.
However, when other do such actions, we don’t usually spend time thinking about why they did it. We assume that it’s a character flaw and he or she is bad.
When we take the time to really focus on treating everyone the same. When we consider, others have had days that affect their judgement, then we can accept “ imperfect” behavior as being influenced by other causes than just being bad.
When you realize that everyone can be affected by a back story and everyone can have a bad day. Then it’s easier to understand that the offender isn’t evil, but he or she is different from outside influences. It becomes easier to forgive and forget. It gets easier to love our neighbor, even when they wrong us
