Paul’s desire

“that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death; if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead.”

Today’s verse is very powerful and it comes from a jail cell. Paul is writing about how everything he used to value in life was meaningless. All he wants now is to focus on Jesus.

Not only does he want to know the Lord on an intimate level, he wants to suffer with Him and go through the pain that He went through! Such love and determination.

When I think of how I have desired material goods or achieved skills, I feel I would gladly trade them in for such a desire to be with the Lord.

But I know, getting to that level take time and life changes. Let’s do it together.
