Mercy
“Be ye merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”
S. Luke 6:36 RV1895 https://bible.com/bible/1922/luk.6.36.RV1895
Today’s verse is short and to the point, isn’t it? Be merciful like the Lord. While it’s impossible to out do His mercy, we can take it as an example. We can acknowledge the fact that He didn’t have to become a man and die a terrible death. He could have kept things as they were. Or He could have came down as a terrible and unforgiving God. But he didn’t.
He chose love and mercy. So should we. A lot of what we feel is based in our perception. When we get offended, we are looking at it from our point of view. We don’t understand the accuser’s point of view of justification.
When we choose to live as the Lord did, we are truly showing some supernatural power. Mercy and forgiveness almost never occur in the animal kingdom. It almost seldom occurs in our society. The opposite actions get all the media times.
Let’s show the world the power and glory of the Lord living by mercy, humility, and love to the best that we can. Let’s show the world the way the Lord wants to live.
