His Mercy

“The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, In those that hope in his mercy.”

Today’s verse reminds us of how we can please the Lord. In the past, offerings and sacrifice were the way to please the Lord. Obedience is another method. After the greatest sacrifice of all time, you know Who, there was no longer need to sacrifice traditional ways- animals and grain.

Today, we can fear the Lord. This is an older meaning of fear. Of course, it still has one meaning to literally fear, but it also means to respect and honor. Do you fear the Lord and respect Him?

It’s easy to fear other things that seem important at the moment. We live in a demanding world where being connected to each other and fitting in seems like the most important thing in the world.

But when you are getting overwhelmed, give respect to the Lord. Fear Him and put Him first.
