My dish of soup

As winter approaches, people in Taiwan start to eat hot and healthier food to prepare their bodies for winter.

Today is Sunday and it’s a very rainy Sunday thanks to a nearby typhoon. As a result, we are having such a mask. Everyone is at my sister-in-law’s house.

The winterizing meal for today is ginger duck soup. This traditional meal is made with large portions of duck and of course ginger. To help fortify it, rice wine is added.

Also, our family turns the soup into s hotpot by adding various vegetables and innards. We have cabbage, corn, block tofu and tofu skin (the round golden stuff that later softens into a skin texture).

We also have duck intestine, gizzard, and rooster testicles (the look looks like large white or black kidney beans).

To accompany the soup, there is a large fish coated with sweet and sour sauce.
