Father’s Pride

“The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: And he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.”

Today’s verse is one that every parent can agree with. It’s the goal of every mother or father to do a great job raising their children. Making sure they are safe, smart, and choose wisely.

However, all parents know that no one is perfect except for the Lord. We know that no matter how hard we try, our children are going to make foolish choices. They will fail, get hurt, and screw up. This is part of growing up.

Since we know this is what happens to everyone who has walked the Earth except for Christ, we must train our children to accept and learn from mistakes. That we need to involve Christ in our lives and decisions. Most importantly, when we get off track, the Lord is ready to welcome us back with open arms.

We also have to remember that even though we are parents, we are still Gods children. We should still humble ourselves and want our Heavenly Father to be proud of us.
