Endurance Through Suffering
And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; Romans 5:3
Today's verse is one for everyone because no one has a perfect life. When something bad or painful happens, the most common first response is to “pray” or “wish” it wasn’t there or that it would magically disappear. For us, we can all relate that we must pass through these trials. We have to endure and suffer. When these trials occur, many people even take the Lord's name in vain. As terrible as it is, that also doesn’t help. Most people wish their will would be done above His.
Only by going through the darkness can we find the light. By enduring, we develop endurance. We also develop character and hope. We learn from these experiences. With all the terrible things going o in the world, suffering strangely plays a role in our development. Imagine what you would be like if your life never had any suffering. How different would you be?
Also, consider what this does to the meaning of life. Life is about learning and loving. Both of these sometimes require sufferings. However, the reward is worth it.
