Do as He Does

“forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye:”

Today’s verse is at the very core of Christianity. It’s one of the aspects that can be very difficult for all of us. For me, it’s something that’s easy to talk about in hindsight, but in the moment, it can be difficult to forgive from the heart, and not just to forgive with words.

However, regardless of the difficulty, I think we should strive as followers of Christ to forgive others from the heart. The Lord has given us so much and sacrifice so much for us, it’s one way that we can offer our love to Him.

There is also a wisdom to this. Psychologists and physicians know that there are benefits of having a positive attitude and not carrying anger in our hearts. By forgiving completely and continuing with our lives, we harbor less negative emotions.
