Deny Yourself

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

Today’s verse is one very contrary to our modern society’s idea of chasing your dreams. Here we are told to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him.

Wow. Talk about putting our ego in check. All of our desires that we are taught are wonderful from the material world are distracting. They are nothing but smoke that clouds our judgement and distorts our vision.

The Lord understand this and knows that we earnestly want to be with Him. Take a second and check your own life. What can you surrender from your life? Let’s deny ourselves and follow Him.
