Be steadfast

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not vain in the Lord.”

Today’s verse gives us encouragement. When we are doing the work of the Lord, don’t give up to the pressure of the world. Continue steadfast and be unmovable. Nothing done in the name of the Lord is a waste of time out in vain.

All too often it can be easy to start strong in an idea or motive that we know is right or will promote belief in the Lord only to be shot down by others.

Don’t let that affect you. When you are doing His work, you are basically Superman. When people take aim at you and try to shoot you down, they can’t unless you choose to feel injured. Know He is more important and those that are against you or joking with you are not. Don’t give into anger. Be polite. Their actions are meaningless in the big picture. Act as Jesus did. Behave as the example that He set. Be bigger than they are and continue to do what you know is right.
