Happy 30 August Victory Day
Goodnight everyone
How are you guys?
Actually, I was going to write earlier, but it was late. Actually, I don't know why I decided to write so late. I think my brain is too busy maybe that's why.
I start writing without deciding what to write in each new article.
After starting the article, an idea occurs in my brain and I continue to write like that. But today I thought ahead of what I was going to write and I made a decision.
Let's start writing..
Today is our Victory Day
August 30 is the day of the war our country won against the occupying forces 100 years ago. This is celebrated as a holiday in our country every year.
I would like to share with you today by quoting from wikipedia:
After the successful conclusion of the Great Offensive, also known as the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief because it was held under the command of Atatürk, the Greek armies were followed to İzmir; With the liberation of Izmir on September 9, 1922, Turkish lands were liberated from Greek occupation. Although it was later for the occupying troops to leave the country's borders, August 30 symbolically represents the day the country's territory was taken back. Celebrated for the first time as the Victory of the Commander-in-Chief in Afyon in 1924, August 30 has been celebrated as the Victory Day in Turkey since 1926.
Background of Victory
The Great Offensive was a clandestine operation planned and planned to enable the Turkish army to deliver the final and decisive blow to the invading forces during the War of Independence and to throw them out of Anatolia. Atatürk, who was given the authority of the Commander-in-Chief for the fourth time in the session of the Turkish Grand National Assembly on 20 July 1922, took the decision to attack in June and carried out the preparations in secret. The Great Offensive began in Afyon on the night of the 26th to the 27th of August, and ended with the victory of the Turkish army, with the destruction of the enemy units besieged around Aslıhan in the Battle of Dumlupınar, which was personally led by Mustafa Kemal Pasha.
**********
After the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, our country was occupied and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk started a War of Independence against it. This war lasted from 1918 until the last war in 1922. Our country won with the Great Offensive War won on August 30, 1922, gained its independence by removing the enemy troops from the country, and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk established our current country and gave it to us as a gift.
*******
On August 30, a public holiday is declared in the whole country, and the Victory of August 30 is celebrated in the whole country like a feast.
This year's Victory Day is more important. Because it's the 100th anniversary of the Victory.
100. th anniversary of the victory and 99. th anniversary of the foundation of our country. Our country was established as Fully Independent on April 23, 1923, after the August 30 Victory Day.
