An Infectious Disease: Nationalism
After the French Revolution of 1780, the world witnessed unstoppable uprisings. With the French Revolution, Equality, Justice, Nationalism, Freedom, Secularism and so on. discourse and concepts began to spread. Out of these discourses, concepts that would threaten the powerful empires of the period emerged. From these concepts, Nationalism led to the disintegration and collapse stages of the Empires of the period and even the collapse of some empires and kingdoms. The Ottoman Empire, which was one of the important empires of the period, was also greatly affected by these purchases and sought to apply a recipe against them. As a result, the minority peoples in the Ottoman Empire started to revolt and revolt against the state. These movements, which started to spread from France, also had significant positive reflections on the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman State Administrators declared the Constitutional Monarchy together with the Tanzimat Edict and the Islahat Edict. Since these developments are democratic steps according to the administrations in the West, their positive reflections have been counted. Between 1792 and 1815, Europe witnessed the Great Bloody Revolutionary Wars. As a result of all these experiences, the balances have changed and the New Age Period is Over, the Modern Age Period has begun.
With the onset of the Modern Age, the world began to evolve towards a new order, by the great powers of the period. Europe, which started to be reshaped with the 1789 French Revolution, witnessed new developments. In the world system evolving for a new order, the European States would struggle to become the Leading Power, and at the end of this struggle, they would cause World Wars that would cause great wounds in the World and Human History. The establishment phase of this new order would take place when the Ottoman Empire, which was described as the Sick Man of the time, was kept out of the war and was destroyed by the contagious disease called Nationalism in its lands. Another aim was to dethrone Sultan Abdulhamid, who was the biggest obstacle in front of this and managed to keep the state, which is described as the Sick Man, afloat for 30-odd years. As a matter of fact, the Western Powers achieved their goals with the Unionists they supported, and Sultan Abdulhamid was deposed with a coup, and the inexperienced Unionists who took over the administration started the phase of collapse, disintegration and erasure of the entire empire from history. And in the end, it was like this, a whole empire was wiped from the stage of history. Inexperienced Unionists brought the weak, sick man of the time into the World War with their own hands and caused the collapse of the state and inflicted wounds that could not heal in the history of humanity.
It is possible to find the contagious disease called Nationalism in almost all of the processes we have described, from the French Revolution to the World Wars. As a matter of fact, even behind Hitler's cause of World War II lies this disease called Nationalism. However, 14 centuries ago, the leader of the Islamic State, the Prophet of Compassion and Mercy, said in his Farewell Sermon:
No one has an advantage over anyone else. Superiority is only in Taqwa. He ignored nationalism and strictly forbade it. Islam strictly forbids nationalism. When we look at the history of the World and Humanity, you will find Nationalism, which is a disease, an infectious disease and lives in the brains of sick souls, behind all the oppression, bloodshed, tears and wars.
My wish is for humanity to get rid of this contagious disease, the disease of nationalism and nationalism, to embrace Islam and the Qur'an with four arms, and to get rid of the hole of heedlessness they fell into as soon as possible and wake up from heedlessness.
