Weekend plans: Slowly settling the necessary things to do.
The first week of the month of March would mean to me and my classmates that a lot of things are needed to be done and passed the works because we are already running out of time. We are so behind already that there is this one major subject that still didn't gave us grades because we still need to present a major work - and that is Thesis. I mentioned "so behind" simply because we are now supposed to be a busy graduating/OJT students but our time that were supposed to be used compiling the requirements were taken by our Thesis.
And on my side, as a student, I also have a lot of things needed to do while being problematic with our Thesis for me to finally graduate and finished college. So I made this article/blog to list down things I need to do this weekend and also for the next coming weeks.
Finalizing my Certificate of Grades.
Since the first week of 2022, on January, the very first thing I did was to plan on how am I supposed to get all my missing grades from different teachers. Compiling those missing grades were very hard because most of my teachers were not available in the school during my visit and I was forced to visit them in their own house one by one.
The whole month of January and two weeks in February were my busy days because I needed to com back to school almost everyday to check if they are available in the faculty office. Some teachers were there but it wasn't that easy asking for grades because I admittedly lacked activities and they require me to pass it before they will give me the grade I deserve. And with that, it took me a day or two finishing the activities, with the help of my classmates, then after passing the activities I went to the teacher to finally receive my grade.
The hardest part of this mission were the times that I need to visit the teacher in their houses, travel back and forth and spending so much money for my transportation. As a normal student, and with the transportation fees keeps getting expensive, it was really painful in the pocket because I was saving as much as I can.
But for almost two months of settling those grades, going to school almost everyday, spending money on transportation, exhausting activities, I finally got 11 out 12 grades that were missing in my SIAS account (a system where students can check all their school records). And now I only have one minor problem - my P.E. grade in my first year.
I messaged my P.E teacher in first year and asked her if she is available to meet in the faculty in next coming days, fortunately she was kind and messaged me back saying that she is available in the morning and I thanked her for that.
On the next day, I went to our University and looked for her and told her about my concern. She listened to me quietly and gave me a kind look. After telling my concern, she just said to personally message her on Facebook so that she can give me the activities and after that she will give me the grade I deserve. Unfortunately, after messaging her again, she still didn't give me a response and I understand it because I know she is a very busy woman doing school works and her zumba lessons. That's why next week, on Monday, I will personally meet her again for the activities because I don't want to annoy her for messaging so much.
Finalizing our Thesis for our Final Defense.
As I am making this blog/article, I am currently on my boarding house together with my 3 classmates to do and edit our Thesis work. We just had our Thesis defense two weeks ago and we are very fortunate that our work was acceptable with only few things need to rework. The panel of judges for our Thesis didn't gave us bad comments for our Thesis project and we didn't have a hard time presenting it to them.
Our final defense were scheduled this month of March but our teacher didn't gave us an specific date on when will it be and now we feel like being hurried when the teacher said that anytime this month our final defense will take place so we better hurry. Next week, we will interview some business establishments here in our area (Naval, Biliran) so we can proceed to other things we need to do.
Conclusion.
Being a graduating student is really exhausting. And other than that is that it is very expensive. I have spent so much money out from my own pocket because I don't want to ask money from my parents anymore. I know this difficulties are just temporary and will pass eventually. I just need to be more persevere and time will come for our graduation.
