Prompt # 22 of @JonicaBradley : Snow
SNOW
"Mommy look!" The small child of five pointed in the air beaming with happiness seeing the white stuff falling in the air. "Mommy, it's snowing!" The kid jumped up and down while clapping his freezing hands.
A tear fell down the side of his mother's eyes. His son is still innocent to realize the things happening around him. "Yes, aren't they pretty my love?"
"They are so lovely!" cried the child pulling his mother's hand.
The mother smiled, "Come on, keep walking. We need to make it out before the sun breaks, remember?"
"Yeah. I remember. We are meeting daddy on the other side tomorrow!" answered the kid with so much energy her mother started to believe there was still hope for them.
"Yes. We will." The mother turned to their back seeing the great fire that was eating their entire village. A cold shrill run down her spine imagining the fate of those who didn't make it in time. She brushed the ashes falling down her shoulders and continued walking.
She prayed with all heart for the war to stop. And hope that her husband could make it on the border as he promised her. Then her eyes fell down to the tiny hands that gripped the hem of her skirt and the eyes that marvelled to the scenery before him. Her heart ached but they must survive.
Everytime mabasa ko yung snow na word my friend, naalala ko yung mga Korean movies. Gusto ko makakita ng real snow. Ano kaya feeling friend.
