This quote will allow you to understand the actual meaning of conflicts. It's not about who's right and who's wrong; it's about respecting other people's opinions and points of view to remain the peaceful environment.

For example, if your friend is a vegan and you are not, you cannot compel them to eat meat, and they cannot force you to stop eating meat. But if you and your friend respect each other, there will be no problems; you both have your own knowledge and points to make; there is no right or wrong; it is just respect and understanding.

Expressing and Resolving Conflicts Among Individuals or Groups.

Individual or group conflict is a natural and even beneficial aspect of life. After all, you can't expect two individuals to agree on everything all of the time. Differences lead to conflict. When individuals differ on their beliefs, motives, perceptions, thoughts, or desires, it leads to conflict. Because disagreements in society are unavoidable, learning to cope with them in a healthy manner is essential.

When a disagreement awakens strong emotions, a deep personal and relational need to feel safe and secure, a need to be respected and appreciated, or a need for deeper connection and intimacy is at the root of the problem. And when disagreements are handled poorly, they may be harmful to individual relationships with each other. When handled appropriately and effectively, conflict, on the other hand, provides an opportunity for growth, ultimately enhancing the bond between two people.

Have you heard about the couple that split up because they disagree on who to vote for in the presidential election? No, we're not discussing who should vote and who should not, but that particular occurrence is relevant to this discussion.

Let's say you're already in a committed and stable relationship, but you discover that your partner actually hates cats. You want to adopt one, but your partner believes that cats are filthy. Are you really going to end your relationship because of that? You may reach an agreement and speak things through instead of arguing, which will lead to a breakup.

Do you understand what I'm saying?

Emotional maturity, self­ control, and empathy are required for conflict management and resolution. It may be difficult, unpleasant, and even frightening but we must have those abilities, the understanding and respecting others.

Overall, when the other person lacks emotional maturity, resolving problems is tough. It can only be resolved if each person is treated with respect. After all, people don't have to agree on everything, but they do have to respect one other's points of view in order to achieve unity.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

This may not seem important to some of you, but it is quite important to others. There have been several instances of this, particularly now that the election is approaching and people are hurling insults at one another; some have even been told they are stupid because they disagree with other people's choices and viewpoints. It's really immature to believe that you can label somebody as stupid just because they disagree with you.

If they don't agree, show them some respect. Calling others dumb will not make you superior or intelligent; instead, you will make a fool of yourself.
