Self-control is one topic that should be discussed and it's important to start practicing it to be able to at least quit smoking if you want to because you need a strong well and definitely self-control to be able to quit a bad habit.

Bad habits

There are many bad habits that we might have and we really want to stop doing whatever we are doing which is considered bad in our eyes such as smoking cigarettes or tobacco in general or drinking alcohol or any sort of habit that is destroying our life and such as drugs or maybe stealing which is definitely a really bad habit and can lead us to jail, and having a bad habit that you regret is a great sign of self-awareness but you also need self-control and a strong will to be able to get out of this bad habit and continue your life in a better way and a better shape and form.

Smoking

Smoking definitely kills and can kill you slowly, well some people don't believe this and they say that they smoke since many years, well yes you did not die yet but you are surely shortening your life and slowly dying and hurting yourself, and of course damaging your own body from the inside, therefore you might die sooner than your time so you should definitely consider stopping the bad habit of smoking and try checking your doctor as soon as possible to be able to recover as sooner and live longer. Some of the side effects of smoking are heart disease, cancer or even a stroke. And to be able to quit all you need is a strong will and self-control because you really can do it and yes, if you want to quit smoking but you can't just because the nicotine and other substances are inside your body and your body is asking for a cigarette every time you try to stop, you actually have to stop anyhow, and you need a strong will and self-control, all you have to do is simply ignore your body and mind for wanting to smoke a cigarette and drink water and move on with your life as soon as you can and you will be good to go , maybe in a week or two or maybe in the month but you would surely recover if you don't smoke again.

Alcohol

Being addicted to alcohol or simply drinking alcohol is a bad habit, and is as bad as getting drunk because it messes with your body and mind and can get you sick and is not recommended at all whatsoever. Yes, people not only drink but they actually get drunk and start either abusing their significant others or their kids or having problems or speaking whatever their mind speaks which is not a good idea if you are near people, and maybe get into a fight or argument or a car accident if you actually drive while you are even a little bit drunk. Some side effects of drinking alcohol includes cancer in the mouse or voice box or liver and other types of cancer and even a stroke or a heart disease can occur. And just like smoking all you have to do to quit drinking alcohol is simply doing the work and quit drinking alcohol , because all you have to do is tell your brain and your body that you do not want to drink alcohol whatsoever and control yourself and have a really strong will. Alcohol is way better than smoking when it comes to quitting and giving up on it, and is easier to quit then smoking tobacco.

Insulting

Insulting is a really bad habit that people actually tend to do quite often and it actually hurts the other person that's listening the insults from you, whether it's a family member , friend or a random person on the street, let alone people that you actually hate and then you start insulting them a lot which will probably cause them to be mentally sick in the future if you keep on insulting them while others also do the same to them , so be the change and stop insulting and swearing because it doesn't make the situation better other than making yourself and the other person more angry and an argument can be bigger and a problem can occure, even a fight can start, which is bad. A good way to control your bad habit which is insulting is by simply having self-control and relaxing yourself and thinking before you actually speak and not get angry because when you're angry it's better to stay quiet and silent rather than speaking if you really can't control yourself, and just know for a fact that insulting and shouting will just make the situation worse and will not make it anyway better.

Confidence

Being confident in your actions and in your own self is really going to help you in having a lot of self-control because if you think you're weak and you cannot do it then you are wrong because you never tried and even if you did try, you did not try hard enough, so try again and this time try to actually quit the bad habits that you have and that are bothering you, because its now or you know it, NEVER, so have really good confidence in your actions and yourself to be able to move forward in a better way and a strong way that is different than your old state.

Self-control is really important and it will help you a lot in your life and will give you more experience in handling situations whether it's a bad habit or something like a fight or argument that can occur, and will give you more experience in helping out your own kids later in life if they face a similar problem to yours.

People should control their bad habits just like any other smoking is bad for our health and not only for our self people around us also get in trouble with smoking which is bad. i would say everyone must try to self control by controlling their habit just like smoking, jealousy and anger issues and many more.

Definitely. Self control is among the things we need to have and accepting the change in our life is what is supposed to be done.

Controlling the anger is simple as well, but if we cant then we can visit a doctor for anger management.

Well said you are right controlling anger is important for everyone because if we don't control we can be rude to our love ones, which is not good for relations. controlling bad habbits can help us in many ways.

Yes indeed self control is hard for many or you can say for most of people but we should control it by using our sense and add this thing in our daily life and focus on it to stop day by day :)
