Any potential danger is considered a no for a mother hen, and her babies should always be safe. Chicken hens are capable to fight off literally any animal trying to cause danger to the babies. They can fight off a cat, a dog, or even a crow. Hens will surely try to fight off other bigger animals, even wolves, foxes and snakes, and hopefully the dangerous animals will go away feeling threatened by the brave mom. Snakes on the other hand tend to get a heavy beat down before going away.
