Yahoo! Christmas is on the air, how do you celebrate holidays? Will as for me it's been 5years that im longed for a Christmas celebration together with my big family.
If someone would ask me what im feeling during this Christmas holidays? I can say that it's not easy being far away from your family most especially with my 2daughters it's a big trial, a test that I must overcome in it.
When" ber" months begin I started to put decorations, way back in 2015 in and outside in our house as we Filipinos have iconic and beloved symbols of decorations which are lanterns, parol, stars, garlands, mistletoe.
Why im too early putting all those decorations? It's because some of the establishments like malls, that seeing those decors or even neighbors they already started so as for me why not? im so excited too.
We started hearing those Christmas songs on the radio the incessant songs start everywhere you turn your ears on television shows they started the 100days down counting.
During the countdown of days, we all start planning for the party and celebration like how we can make it memorable and enjoyable.
Some of the barangays are tended to have competition for the best Christmas decors, they have the tallest Christmas tree, biggest Christmas lantern, etc.
Simbang Gabi
We have also this tradition that if we complete the 9-day series masses that start at 3 to 4 am until 24th with a final tenth one occurring just before midnight on Christmas eve, we believe that our wish will be granted but unfortunately, no one time im able to complete it due to some reason that sometimes not feeling well and sometimes due to laziness, to wake up at that period, of time especially when it's cold.
Just wanna flex first my ever-supportive sponsors you can check their writing too if you have time.
During the 9 day masses, we enjoy seeing those lanterns and parols in the street while walking and also those who are selling Street vendors that after mass we tend to buy that kind of foods that like, bibingka, puto bumbong that is some of the traditional foods.
On December 24 we are already preparing the foods that were going to eat during Noche Buena we are all excited about preparing all that we want to eat we started to cook in the afternoon and while preparing the food it is also a way of bonding together since it is the only time that we don't have work that is why it is very important to me because it is the event that we bond, make peace and know the importance of the family.
We can't deny the fact that we Filipinos love foods that during Christmas Eve we make sure that there would be a lot of foods on our table most of the menu that we prepare for Noche Buena mostly consist of ham, fruit salad, and some delicacies and meat dishes, and also crispy pork Lechon.
Closing words
When I think of the Christmas holidays so many beautiful memories flood in my mind that it's the reason for being teary-eyed since im not been able to celebrate it with my family 5 years to be exact this coming December 2021 im praying and hoping that in the next year 2022 we will be reunited and celebrated together again.

Nothing beats Christmas in the Philippines. 😊 however, as years go by, only a few people are now putting up Christmas lights and decorations. Happy New Year Cleophia2.
