Intro
This will be the third entry in the "what is in my crypto wallet series" I had a few questions answered yesterday by important figures in the cryptocurrency industry. While there is also a fork on BCH in 3 days so this will be a bit lacking but i'm starting to cover BCH and BAT for today given my tight schedule this is the best i could do.
So the Bch upgrade is a little more complex than others given the opposing ideologies of the 2 development teams seems to have the potential to cause a split. On November 15th BCH is scheduled for a network upgrade. This is extremely important to us at read.cash, & ill be covering it in the second half of this article first i have to have a public nerd moment and let everybody know how the Futurist conferences first day went. Spoiler I had a good time.....
Nerd fanboy moment
Yesterday was the 1st day of the Futurist conference they live streamed panels with important figures in the cryptocurrency industry. This live stream was 9 hours long and not going to lie i was there for most of it. I was even able to ask several questions that got answered. Due to the fact that the Futurist conference is usually a event irl there was close to no one that was asking questions. Using this to my advantage i personally was able to learn quite a bit.
First thing I was able to ascertain is that YouTube sucks and I finished the live stream on dlive.tv which is a blockchain based live streaming service .
My dlive referral if your going to check it out please use it

However the first positive shock was when Roger ver who you might recognize from owning a chunk of nearly every cryptocurrency company gave away $25 Bitcoin cash via a QR code literally 3 times. Unfortunately I couldn't get my phone quickly enough but after that I was paying close attention.
After a couple of other live streams about ntf defi and AI none of which i had enough knowledge about to interact with the panel and not waste their time. Finally after hours of taking notes and listening the( future of the web how blockchain technology is giving power back to the people ) panel started. Which had Luke mulks brave browser's director of business development, addo smajic ceo of source.network, and Jenna pilgrim ceo of streambed. Anyone who has been reading my articles knows im obsessed with brave browser. For goodness sake I have read almost everything I could obtain publicly on brave browser and Basic attention token. I enjoy learning about companies that have made commitments to provide security and privacy for their users so the fact i got 2 questions answered by brave browser's director of business development my own personal miracle.
Luke mulks retweeted me nerding out on twitter after

computer is acting up otherwise i would of screen garbed it
Brave questions
For the first question I was inquired about possibly increasing the number content creator website's listed. While my second question was about possible replacements for BAT's ERC20 token such as a trx bnb or eos derivative. Now the response was a little ambiguous however Luke mulks response was not a no just that the company was in process of development that it was a possibility at perhaps a later date.
Quantum computing and POW question
My final question that was answered during the latter part of the live stream was regarding Bitcoin and if there was a possibility of us seeing a upgrade or variation of POW in Bitcoin's future . Now I didn't exactly get the desired answer they had accurately guessed however without any context clues that my personal concerns stem from quantum computing. Basically the common consensus of the panel was that this threat was not in the near enough future to worry about it. This was actually a bit of a relief i still have concerns regarding a mock quantum computer emulation based on a Quaternary coded bot net but that is a bit wordy to get into so I dropped it. By the time I got done with the Futurist conference I had won $15 for those whom may have missed out there is a live streaming event all day today to.

Now that I stopped being starstruck I will try to outline exactly what the upcoming Bitcoin cash upgrade will entail. The BCHN upgrade includes a rational and uncontroversial mining system intended to address issues with mining in the current system. The network upgrade will make changes to the Difficulty Adjustment Algorithm (DAA), the Coinbase Rule no not the exchange in this case (Coinbase) is referring to the specific part of a newly mined block. This Is the source of all the issues Bitcoin ABC will require 8% of all block rewards to be sent to a specific Bitcoin Cash address. One controlled by Bitcoin ABC developers, of course. this Coinbase change as well as Replay Protection. This is designed to cause full validating nodes that do not upgrade to separate themselves from the main network after the next upgrade happens the 15th of May. Essentially miners would comply with Bitcoin ABC or be forced to switch out of the mining network.
While both perposed upgrades are intended to replace the DAA system that is slow and slightly unpredictable. BCHN has a less complicated solution to the problems that started this whole situation that they have dubbed ASERT. The primary motivation for this replacement algorithm is to put an end to variations in Bitcoin Cash’s difficulty and hash rate. However BCHN has not been upgraded to keep 8% of the block rewards while maintain block intervals to as close to 10 minutes as possible. Lastly it is hoped that ASERT will also bring the average transaction confirmation time closer to target time. This would fix both the mining issues and potentially make trades faster some how solving the issue without robbery.
We probably don't need to worry the miners have been raising their concerns for some time about what Bitcoin ABCs has perposed. As of writing this there's a 83% of the minors have shown their support for BCHN they do this by writing messages in newly mined blocks such as
"PoweredbyBCHN". Meaning that they likely intend to vote for BCHN
The perposed upgrade by Bitcoin ABC is somewhat reminiscent of the Zcash upgrade last fork that has been devaluing for a while now & hopefully the new fork on the 18th will rectify issues. This stems from their approach to privacy coins that requires a % of the mining network out put for smart contracts. While some of Zcash perposed privacy features are a right step there no XMR . As such the encryption used is not incredibly effective, and for most people's concerned over privacy it's not enough. I have wanted Zcash to fix the problems that started with this kinda half measure security measure that essentially almost made it unprofitable to mine. However they have a positive buzz about the new fork fixing the problem caused by the last fork.
Fork fork fork spoon.....
Wrote it a so much that I probably will be attempting to eat cereal with a fork before December.
I am hoping anyone who has read this on 11/12 will try to get to the Futurist conference live stream today. It is worth it .
