It's amazing what you can get up to in the Great Outdoors!

After a lifetime investigating the hidden uses of sticks, pebbles, trees, buckets, sheets, and strings. So, I'll be writing some of the fun outdoor activities that you may enjoy doing.

But to become an expert outdoorer you'll need to remember these 4 important rules.

  1. The older your clothes, the better for the Great outdoors.

  2. Review the list of things you need before you start and make sure you have everything.

  3. When you see a danger sign, don't continue or ask for help.

  4. And make sure to have fun.

*Waterball

You need a balloon and some water.

  1. Fix the balloon to a tap. Turn on the tap (slowly).

  2. Fill the balloon half full, take it off and tie it.

  3. You now have a waterball. Stand and throw it to each other, gettiny slightly further apart each throw. When it dropped, it might bounce, but sometimes it burst.

*Jumbo Picketsticks

You need 2 or more players and big pile of sticks.

  1. Scatter the sticks higgledy-piggledy into a big criss-crossed pile.

  2. Take turns trying to pull sticks out of the pile without moving any other stick. If you manage it, have another turn.

  3. The winner is the player with the most sticks at the end.

*Thunderstorm Distance

To measure the distance of a thunderstorm you need a steady count!

  1. When you see lightning flash, start counting, "I silly second, 2 silly seconds, 3 silly seconds" and so on at a slow even pace...

  2. Stop counting when you hear the thunder roll. The number of silly seconds you've counted is the number of miles away the storm is. (P. S. 1 mile = 1.6km)
