Sweating is the main way that humans keep cool. Hot people produce sweat that evaporates from the surface of their skin. Heat is used up as sweat evaporates and so the people cool down. Furry mammals like rabbits also have sweat glands. They produce sweat, but it's not easy to see. Furry animals have other ways of keeping cool as well as sweating. When they're hot, blood flows closer to the surface of their skin. Heat is then lost to the cool air. Other animals pant when they get overheated. Dogs do this, for instance. The most simple way animals and humans to cool down, of course is to stop moving about. They also look for cool place.
