Before I Acknowledge Reality

All my life,

all I ever had to be

was the summary

of how people think I should be.

I've had my share

of do's and don'ts

I've gone through all their

yeses and no's.

Every once in a while,

I'd set myself free

cause If I stay here,

what does it make of me?

I will prove to them

that I can be whom I dream to be.

So much more than the child in me.

So much more than what they see.
