Sorry, it's uncontrollable
We laugh when we’re happy and cry when we’re sad. Sometimes we cry because of so much happiness and laugh because we want to hide our sadness. These are called emotions. But some cannot control these emotions. Pseudobulbar affect (PBA) is a condition characterized by uncontrollable laughing or crying of a person that is inappropriate in a current situation they are in. For example, you react with a certain situation and nothing is funny but you’ll suddenly burst into laughter and you can’t stop it, it’s uncontrollable. This is a nervous system disorder which affects how the brain controls emotions. People with PBA tend to show feelings which is exaggerated, through an involuntary laugh or cry. It can last for several minutes. Some causes of it include Stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, Traumatic brain injury, and others. Scientist also believes that it may be from damage in the prefrontal cortex, part of the brain responsible for controlling emotions. It is also linked to depression due to changes in brain chemicals and other parts of the brain are also damaged. Doctors, prescribe anti-depressant to control symptoms of PBA. There are also steps that doctors suggest to ease the anxiety during PBA episodes, it includes talking about your condition to family and friends, keep track of your episodes through a diary (helps you in discussing with your doctor), talk to those people who have the same condition, you can also shift position if an attack is coming, breathe slowly and try to relax. If you’ve watch the movie *Joker* you’ll easily imagine how a person with PBA reacts. If only people understand his condition more, if they try to figure out the reason behind, maybe he didn’t turn out to be a villain in his own life. Thank you for reading I hope this article help you even a bit. If you know someone with this kind of disorder convinced them to see a doctor, and if they already did understand them more because having such condition is not their fault. These are the kinds of illnesses that really need brain scans because a number of people who have cases like these usually have tumors and/or a karge depletion of brain matter caused by a sharp head concussion while in childhood ;-; it's sad for these people, really
Yes, the first time i watched Joker, i was lost for about 2 days thinking all that, and i learned that such disorder do exist.
They really do ;-; had to look it up as soon as the movie was over. Then i thought that if there were brain therapies in his time, it would have saved a lot of lives, really
