Attention
Attention is the ability to focus on a given task at hand, with awareness and the capacity to respond.
Yes, you heard me right; attention is a skill that can be developed.
A skill.
The reason why it sounds so unbelievable is because we learn very early on to live in our autopilot; our attention is hijacked by stimulus around us, in an environment that is not very conducive to learning.
We are bombarded by distractions, advertisements, and other media around us which actually gets in the way of working on our full potential.
Attention is the process of selecting one out of many stimuli present in our environment. Attention has also been referred to as the allocation of processing resources.
The focus of attention is on a subset of the available perceptual information, while the ignored information remains undetected, though not necessarily suppressed.
Attention is the focus of your mind on a particular thing. It is the act of concentration, bringing something or someone to your consciousness.
Attention - Attention is the power by which we turn toward the various stimuli that we encounter. It is a step in the process of perception. Attention has many different focuses including; alerting, orienting, and executive control.
Attention is the average amount of time a person can maintain an alert state. Attention is a cognitive process with a limited capacity that affects the perception of our environment. The word 'attention' is often used synonymously with the phrase 'awareness'. (Wikipedia)
We all have less than 24 hours, why not spend it wisely? Let's optimize our day to make the most out of it, by increasing our productivity boosts our happiness.
The mind creates the world we live in. Complicated? Nah, not really. This is what I’ve been learning recently from some great mentors, both in my personal life and in my business.
I’ve often felt that things have happened that were not good for me, which have kept me from achieving my true potential. All around the web and through friends, I’ve heard about people getting cheated on and taken advantage of. In the traditional sense, these things happen because we don’t focus and put ourselves in vulnerable situations.
But what happens when we become aware of these situations and still let them happen because we don’t want to actually do anything? You can read all the articles you want to read, listen to all the motivational talks you want to listen to, but nothing will change until you decide to change it.
The mind creates the world we live in.
So I beseech you to pay attention to what matters today.
