Bill Gates was Right. We Were Not Prepared for the Pandemic.

One of the most recent outbreaks of viruses was the Ebola virus back around 2014. Only by sheer luck did the Ebola outbreak not reach anywhere as devastating as the current Covid-19 pandemic, but Bill Gates has stated that the next pandemic can and will be worse if we were not ready to tackle it. Except that Bill Gates made this statement a few years before anyone in America would be asked to wear a mask while going out shopping.

The video was posted on April 3rd, 2015. In about four-and-a-half years later, the Covid-19 pandemic had begun. The method of the spread of the virus, the economic losses, the steps that should have been put in the four years before the covid outbreak are all mentioned in the video: and no action was ever taken.

The most infuriating part of all of this is when the time comes for the pandemic to be over. Experts have stated that wearing masks should still be encouraged even after the pandemic comes to an end. However, it is easy to predict that it will not happen. A few months into the year of 2021, the number of cases has dropped very significantly. What also dropped is the number of masks being worn in public. I personally have seen only half of the people in a supermarket have masks on and even though there was a sign that said that masks were required, not one customer was asked to put on a face covering.

People are not just wanting the pandemic to end, people no longer want to wear masks anymore. This situation should have made people understand that we have not been prepared for such a situation, but instead the world is only looking forward to going back to the comfortable pre-pandemic life and pretend that none of this has ever happened.

So basically, no one has learned a fucking thing. We don’t deserve you, Bill Gates.
