Getting Married? *"Do you want to get married already?"* *"Do you get envious about your friends and the people you know getting married?"* Well, I would be lying to you if I'd say "NO." To be honest, I really want to get married already. Not because I am pressured. Not because I want to be out of the house. Not because I want to show off that I am married but because, "**I WANT TO"**. I want to be able to be with the person I love. I want to be near him everyday. I want to wake up and go to sleep seeing him there beside me. I want to start a whole new journey to forever. It sucks having to be so far away. It sucks that whenever I miss him and whenever I needed someone to hug, he can't be there. Yes, I know, I shouldn't be complaining because he, too, feels the same way and yes, we are working so hard to get everything fall into the way we planned but, with the situation now, the process is really slowing us down. As to the second question, yes, I do feel envious but, not in a bad way. I am happy for them, **YES**, I truly am. But, deep inside me, I wish it would be me, too. Every day whenever I scroll on my Facebook feed, I always see people getting engaged and getting married and giving birth to babies and here I am, I feel like I am stuck in a tunnel - struggling to move forward. I could see how beautiful and romantic their proposals are and here I am, he didn't even kneel in front of me to ask me the billion-dollar-question, ***"Will you marry me?"*** All he did was order a bouquet of flowers online along with the ring and wrote me a letter to ask me the question. And that, made the whole problem because the ring doesn't even fit me since he didn't know my size and also because I have such tiny fingers. *(laughs)* But yes, I shouldn't be complaining because other people there don't even propose nor give rings but their love is so pure. I know he loves me so much and I guess, that is all that matters more. It's just that, with the long wait, I am getting so frustrated about it that sometimes, I'd even think that maybe it really is not meant to be. But, I guess, God just wanted us to wait. Maybe, God is still working to make my dream wedding come true exactly the way I dreamt it to be. Maybe, God is just testing my patience. Maybe, God is still putting everything in line so when the time comes, everything will be perfect. I do not know for sure what is in store for me in the future but I guess, I'll just have to surrender everything to God and trust Him fully. If it isn't meant to be, I'm sure, He should've grabbed me away from it a long time ago. And if it really is meant to be, hopefully, one day soon, I could already get His "**YES**." If you are like me and is starting to get frustrated about something you have been waiting for and is taking so long for God's "Yes", whatever that may be, well, let me tell you that, ***"I feel you. You aren't in that boat alone. Let's just keep on praying and trust God's process. Remember, His ways are a lot better than our ways and His plans better than our plans. I know it is so frustrating but even gold take a long time of process so it'll come out beautifully. Just look at things on the bright side all the time. Be positive. And whenever you start thinking negative like how I am now, just pray. Nothing works a lot better than a sincere prayer from the heart."*** **Love lots,** Jane<3

5 Things You Need to Know Before Getting a Pet Rabbit For a long time now, pets has been a part of people's lives - they are already like family to us. Most people get cats and dogs for pets - sometimes, fishes or birds. But, I rarely see people (at least in my place) who have rabbits as pets. **Why?** ***They probably think rabbits are expensive*** ***And that rabbit is not a typical pet*** I have been a rabbit mommy for 7 months now. And let me tell you, a rabbit is such a very nice pet. Yes, they are a lot different than cats and dogs but, just like cats and dogs, they are also overloaded with cuteness. If you are thinking about getting a rabbit for a pet, well, this blog might help you. If you are also a rabbit mommy, well, I guess you could relate to this blog. Whichever you are between the two, I hope you will enjoy this. Okay, so now, let's start the list: 1. They are very sensitive Rabbits are naturally prey animals so, they easily get scared and think that everybody is trying to eat them. They are very sensitive of sounds - just a little sound of you hitting a pen on the table is enough to scare them. Well, I guess this all make sense since they have huge ears so, they probably could hear a lot better than humans do. They easily get scared of unknown smell or even an unknown shadow. In this video, you will see that my rabbits are eating peacefully and then all of a sudden, they heard a little sound and the rabbit just stopped eating wondering what the sound was. https://youtu.be/ibJCizWrrWg *What to do?* As a rabbit owner, you need to train be there for them to watch them and try to pet them when they feel scared. This way, they will have the confidence that with you, everything will be alright. Also, when they're still young, try to expose them to sounds like a banging door, a barking dog, a meowing cat, or some of the everyday sounds but, be sure to be with them and if they are too scared of it, make sure to not do it as often. Slowly, introduce to them the sounds. Also, if you can, try to provide them a tiny box as their hideout - a place where they can run to when they get scared. 2. They are very fragile Rabbits are animals that you need to really handle with care. They aren't like cats or dogs where you can just grab them anytime and however you like to grab them. Rabbits easily get stressed out and this is the number one cause of their death. **What to do?** If you are planning to buy a rabbit for your kid, well, better think twice. Kids and rabbits are kind of off together. Kids can be really aggressive and rabbits are such fragile beings. Keep them out of children without your guidance. And if yo try to carry them, be very gentle. If you will pet them, pet them only in the head and try to massage their heads, cheeks, and ears. They don't like being pet on their backs and also, petting their backs could also be dangerous for them. Be very gentle in petting them or you might accidentally break a bone. When I had my first pair of rabbits, I wasn't too strict about touching them and petting them until one day, I got home and saw one of my rabbits cannot walk anymore. https://youtu.be/EKI8sl1vRpE Her legs doesn't seem to have strength to walk anymore and she isn't eating at all. I am not sure exactly what happened to him but I was guessing he got traumatized or scared about something. I got really scared thinking she might die on me and that is the least thing I would ever want happening. My brother told me she won't have any chance of survival already but I was persistent. I keep letting her drink water with dextrose powder and I blended Malunggay leaves and then put it in a syringe and fed her like that. Luckily, after few days, she was getting better and now, she already gave birth to two little bunnies. 3. They can be expensive Well, talking about the cost, it actually depends on the rabbit breed you want to have. As for me, I have two breed of rabbits now. The first rabbits I got were the New Zealand rabbits and they are only cheap. Their prices can range from **600-800 pesos per pair** (*12 - 16 dollars per pair*). The second pair of rabbits which I just got 2 days ago were the Lion head rabbits and they can range from **1800 - 2000 pesos per pair** (*36 - 40 dollars per pair*). Well, if you're going to think of it, rabbits are still way cheaper than high-breed cats or dogs. 4. They poop and pee A LOT! Sure, they do. They seem to be like a poop and pee machine. They can literally poop while hopping around! And they're not the typical pets to sleep in bed with just like cats and dogs because I don't think you want to wake up in a poop pool, right? Luckily, their poop are dry and aren't smelly. If they are still baby, their poop just kind of look like black peppers. When they're adults, their poop kind of looks like the pearls in a milk tea. (*Sorry for the weird comparison*. 😊) Unfortunately, their pee are smelly. Well, their pee kind of smell like baby pee. ***What to do?*** You can litter train them. Rabbits are easy pets to litter train since naturally, they wanted to always poop and pee in the same place as long as you litter train them the right way. My adult bunnies, I litter trained them and they already poop and pee on the litter boxes I provided them but, they are only used to do that when they are in the cage. When I put them in the house and they couldn't smell their litter box, they still pee and poop around everywhere! But, nothing to worry though, their poop can be cleaned easily. 5. They need more attention Unlike cats and dogs, bunnies need more attention. They like it when you keep talking to them - it relaxes them and make them feel good. They can recognize your voice and their owner's voice is like music to their cute long ears. Also, you need to always make sure they have water since it is most essential to them for they easily get dehydrated. You need to always make sure their cages are clean enough for them not to get stressed out. Looking back at the things I wrote, it kind of seem more on the negative sides but hey, trust me, having a pet bunny is like the nicest in the world! These things I wrote here are just things you need to get yourself ready about when getting a pet rabbit. Rabbits are so tiny but they do have such big hearts. Just earlier, my lionhead bunny, **Nely** approached me and just kissed me. She's so adorable. And just by looking at them, I can't help but smile. I hope you were able to learn something from my blog. Let me just say, I am not an expert at taking care of bunnies. These are just my observations so far on having pet bunnies. I hope it'll help you on what to look forward to when getting a pet rabbit. Death and the Paranormal: A True to Life Story As a young kid, I hadn’t been fully introduced to the concept of death. The first person that died in my immediate family was my great grandfather on my mother’s side of the family. I only saw him once, when I was five years old. There was something creepy about him. When I saw him, I hid behind my grandfather. We had gone by just to say hello and then left. This was in 1999. The great grandfather passed away in 2000, though I didn’t know it just yet. I was living with my mom in Charlotte, North Carolina while my great grandparents and grandparents lived in San Antonio. After finishing kindergarten in 2000, I came to visit with my grandparents in San Antonio. This became a yearly tradition of coming to San Antonio during the summer break. So one day I asked my grandpa if I could visit with my great grandmother. He left me with her and she sat in her rocking chair in the master bedroom. She was watching the news on the Spanish language channel, **Univision**. I was given some socks and I remember her telling me, ***“Don’t say that they’re worn because they were just washed”.***   Later on my grandpa picked me up and took me home. I couldn’t help but notice that something was missing. ***Where was the great grandfather?***   By the summer of 2003, my mom decided to move back to San Antonio. We stayed at my grandparent’s house, however a year later, we stayed at the great grandparent’s house. Now, I’m about 10 years old. I was starting to get to the age where I was asking questions. I asked my mom about the great grandfather. She told me that he had passed away a few years back. I then learned that passing away meant that one was no longer alive. ***Death***. https://ghosthuntsusa.com/what-would-you-do-for-haunted-ice-cream/?fbclid=IwAR13i3374aVR5PWbGM3XB6mQaJcqNZQNZ5Jm4BZQAFAALBIeoAgq4sycjrU I was never close to the great grandfather, however I noticed a strange sound in the bathroom of the great grandparents house. It sounded like slow breathing. Analyzing it today in 2021, it did not sound like an electric motorized appliance, it wasn’t the toilet like the tank filling up. It wasn’t a dripping sound like from a leaky pipe or the shower. It wasn’t a creaking sound like from the floor. The bathroom had a tile floor, so it wasn’t wood. The windows were shut, so it wasn’t wind coming through the glass. This sounded like breathing. ***Breathe in. 1, 2, 3.*** ***Breathe out.*** ***Breathe in. 1, 2, 3.*** ***Breathe out.*** ***And so on...*** I know it wasn’t me, and there wasn’t anybody outside because I didn’t hear any doorsteps and everyone used house shoes. ***What was that sound?*** It was very strange, and there was no logical explanation. By 2005 or 2006, this stopped and I never heard it again.   **Oh and one more thing...**   Let’s fast forward to 2016. Something that I had been fearing for the past few years had finally happened. I lost my grandfather. It was really hard on me, and I’m happy that my girlfriend was there for me at the time. This unexplained event was a two in one. So the key to a long lasting long distance relationship is lots of communication. A lot of times, my girlfriend and I keep a **Skype** or **Messenger** call active unless it is technically impossible, such as no signal or a dead battery. Well one night, which happened to be the night that my grandfather passed away, the call dropped. A dropped call is not an unexpected event, however it’s the timing of it. Okay so when the call dropped, I got a text message from my mother telling me that my grandfather had passed away. I took a screenshot of the message and sent it to my girlfriend. How is it that the call dropped off exactly at the time that my grandfather died? There may never be an answer for this.   There is a second part to this. So for a short time, I noticed something peculiar every time I viewed the screenshot. Every time I opened the screenshot, I noticed dots moving at the top of the screen. Windows phones did that whenever something was loading. Why was this screenshot always loading? The image before it didn’t and neither did the image after it. The screenshot itself was not a large image either. So this, too went away, though in a much shorter time. Interesting. **Here’s a bonus**   Turning the page in my book of life. **-- 2017 --** **-- 2018 --** **-- 2019 --** **-- 2020 --** One day I’m at work. Now by this time my girlfriend’s mother was in the hospital, and the prognosis was not good. She was very close to the end, but here is the weird thing. Now, without being there, it’s hard to know when someone’s going to die. I’m trying to work,  but the website I was working with crashed. Okay, so it crashed, big deal. It wasn’t just us, it was the whole thing that went down inside and out. This worried me. I didn’t care about the website,  but I had a very unsettled feeling. **No. Don’t tell me.** This was what I thought when it happened. So I finished off the day at work. After work, I took a nap. When I woke up, I found out that my girlfriend had been trying to reach me, and she had told me that her mother had passed away a few hours back. Looking back on all of this, I can’t help but wonder. What is the connection with all of these unexplained events and death? How does the paranormal interact with reality?   ***One may never know.*** **-Carlos-** If you want to check out our other posts, check it out here... Life Living in a House Without Walls ***Have you ever wondered how it'd be like to live in a house without walls? Once in your life, have you ever imagined how it felt like? Well, if you have, let me tell you my story.*** A house without walls? For real? Yes, you have read it right. Our house doesn't have walls and we have been living in this house for more than 11 years now. Our living room doesn't have walls and neither has doors. The only place where we got doors and walls are in our bedrooms. I don't have a photo of our house as of the moment. So, I cannot put a photo right now. I tried looking up on google on something that would look a little similar but gosh! I guess even google can't imagine how our house is because I couldn't find any similar to ours. If you're going to internalize it, living in a house like this really has more bad than good. It has been really hard. It is so easy to blame my parents about it because it should be their responsibility to provide a nice home for their children. But, deep inside me, I could understand them. My mom used to be a church worker and her job doesn't pay much and my dad is an electronic technician and his salary isn't stable at all - there are times where he has a lot of customers and there will also be those times where he doesn't have any customers - not even one. Also, my dad is a **PWD** (*person with disability*), he cannot walk without his crutches. But even once in my life, I never seen him as someone who has a disability because he has been working so hard just to provide us a good living and he never failed to provide food for us to eat 3 times a day - ***and even more***! And one more thing I am so proud of them about? They were able to raise and send all of us (*5 children*) to school. Let me tell you a bit of a back story here... Back when I was a kid, this isn't where we live. We used to live in a small wooden house and yes, that house has walls. But, when I was in high school, we were evicted in that house because from what I have heard, it wasn't our house. It was a house of my dad's friend and they let us out of the house when I was in high school because they said the child of my dad's friend will live there. So, we needed to get away. And yes, that was when we started living in this house. The geographical location of our house Our house is situated in a kind-of-like-a-hill situation. You still need to pass through a long steep stairs to reach our house. https://www.jmlisondra.com/artworks/photo/d38e1d9d1b04359fb28fe5d827180d23 It is kind of like this one but, higher stairs and more woods and bamboos. And with my dad's situation, it is really hard for him especially on rainy days. A lot of times, when we had to go somewhere and it's rainy, my dad keeps slipping in the stairs because his crutches will slide with the mud and trust me, it is so heart-breaking to see. But, what can we do? We just have to deal with it. The struggles of having a house without walls **1.I cannot invite my friends to come over** https://freedesignfile.com/408032-kids-celebrating-birthday-party-stock-photo-02/ Back when I was in high school, our classmates sometimes invites us to their houses for birthday celebrations and just to hang out but here I am, I couldn't even have the guts of inviting my friends to our house since I got so scared they'll judge me. I studied in a semi-private school and most of my friends are really rich so, even just the thought of inviting them to our house makes me really sad and embarrassed. Sometimes, when we have some occasions that where we need to invite people over, we don't really do it in our house. We'd ask my aunt if we could use their house instead and gladly, my aunt always says "**Yes**". **2.We cannot keep pets in the house** https://www.bls.gov/opub/btn/volume-2/spending-on-pets.htm Before anything else, let me tell you, **WE LOVE PETS!** We have cats, a dog, and rabbits. We used to have a bird too. But, our bird flew to the neighbor's house and I guess one of the neighbors took him or, maybe one of the cats ate him. We wanted to keep him just in the house but, what can we do? We don't have doors so they can easily just go out. The same thing goes with our cats. We want to just let them be house cats and not roam around the neighbors because our neighbors are really mean to pets. Just like now, one of our pet cats just came home full of wounds because my dad figured the neighbors poured hot water on him. 😞 https://www.rootsimple.com/2010/11/chickens-in-the-house/ Also, same things goes with other chickens going in our house. Sometimes, when we are all very busy and the dishes are just in the sink, the neighbor's chickens will come and wash the dishes for us. But, seriously, it really is so annoying but, we don't do any harm to them. We'd just simply try to let them go out without hurting them but when our animals goes to them, they would really hurt them. So unfair, isn't it? But what can we do? We don't have doors so they can easily go in and out of the house. https://www.latimes.com/science/sciencenow/la-sci-sn-frog-tongues-saliva-20170203-story.html And yes, one thing I really the most especially now that the weather is starting to be rainy, the frogs keep going in our living room. And frogs is where I am most scared of so, I really hate it so bad every time it happens. But, I'll have to deal with it. **3.Thieves are very welcome** https://southshorelocksmiths.com/house-a-target-for-thieves/ We all know that thieves are everywhere and they would really do what it takes just so they can take advantage of you. But guess what? Luckily, we didn't had any serious moment where thieves stole something from us. So, the thought of having someone stealing didn't even get into us so we just leave our things outside the room and sometimes, just leave the bag with the wallet outside. ***Until one day***, our neighbor who was a 16-year old boy took advantage of it and stole money from us. It wasn't just once but a lot of times! He stole money from us as if it was his own house. Well, actually, our family treated him as a family, too. Because you know, they're our neighbors. But, not after he did that to us. He stole a lot of money from us - not just us but also to my grandma and my aunts. If we're going to sum everything he stole, I guess, that would be around P200,000 or $4,000 in just a span of 2 months. Imagine how bad that was? You might be wondering how we caught him so yeah, we were already so suspicious about it. So, one night, my dad planned a very nice trick. He put three wallets outside - my wallet, my mum's wallet, and an old wallet I have. He put it there as a bait. There really wasn't any money inside but my dad just put some tissue in just to make the wallet look thick. And then he set up a camera (*he used the camera I use for my classes*) outside and used it like a CCTV. And we weren't wrong! Just when we all went in to bed, he started his business. Our dog was barking and then my dad sensed something and he went out of the room and yes, he saw our neighbor there hurriedly ran away. He didn't catch him because my dad isn't really good at running you know, I have mentioned earlier why. But, the camera really caught his face and how he tried opening each wallets we put there for bait. His parents didn't even believe us and said that we were just lying and just trying to make them look bad but my dad showed them the CCTV footage and they really cried. And that was when they started being distant to us and our family. But, we don't mind anyways. They were the one who lost something - not us. They have lost that bond we had with them. **4.We cannot easily go out together** In connection with reason number 3, is this reason number 4. Since our house is kind of like an open book that everybody can walk through and read, hence is the reason why we cannot leave the house without nobody. We cannot even go to church altogether. There will always be someone who needs to be left behind. And at time when we wanted to go somewhere and stay there for like couple of days, we cannot even do that because we're worried when we get back, all the things at home will be gone. This photo shows us eating at Mcdonald's with some of my cousins since this was my brother's birthday. It was supposed to be a family-bonding-outside moments but one of my brothers isn't here since he had to keep watch of the house. So, we just end up getting a take out for him so he could eat it when we get back. But, the feeling of eating altogether as a family is still a lot more different, right? Even if you ate the same food. **5. When it is the rainy season, it's a disaster!!!** https://www.inc.com/bruce-eckfeldt/every-business-needs-a-rainy-day-fund-heres-how-to-calculate-yours.html This is actually the reason why this article idea got into me since now, it is the rainy season here in the Philippines and as I am writing this, it is raining cats and dogs here and it is also windy so, right now, our floor is already so wet and slippery. And, yes, we had to cover our TV, washing machine, speakers, computers, and other appliances we have just so they won't get wet from the rain and so they won't get damaged. Sometimes, if the rain is really super hard, our floor would even flood a little. And we can't do anything much about it but just to hide n our rooms. And dawns are really super cold here - ***it feels like you have turned on the AC at 18 or 16 degrees Celsius! :D*** Why am I writing this? I am not writing this to make you feel pity of me - ***not at all***. I am not writing this to let you know how a disaster we're living like. Actually, I don't open up much about this to people because when people see us outside, they'd really think we're rich but actually, we're not. It's not that I want to hide the truth and pretend. It's not even like that at all. It's just that, I get shy about it sometimes. But, I am still grateful we have a place we could call "***home***". **SO**, I am writing this to let you stop for a second. Look around. And see how lucky you are to live in a home with walls and doors. Not everyone on earth can have that. So, *****be thankful******.* Be thankful of every little things you own because you never know somebody is dying just to have it. ***Also***, please know that not everything in life is easy but, guess what? You are still lucky because you never know how difficult life has been to other people. So, whoever you are reading this from whichever screen you're reading this on, I want to tell you, **YOU ARE LUCKY! YOU ARE BLESSED!** So, don't stress yourself out too much. **Smile**! And let's rock on this crazy ride called "**LIFE**". 😊 **Much Love,** **Christine Jane ❤️❤️**

The Secret to a Lasting Relationship Today marks Carlos and Jane's 5th year anniversary of being boyfriend-girlfriend. To some, 5 years might not even be that long but to us, it has already been long. So in this blog, we will be sharing with you the secret on how we were able to maintain a long and happy relationship. A Little Background About Our Relationship Our relationship isn't the same typical kind of boyfriend-girlfriend relationship - not even the typical long-distance relationship either. Because our relationship is both long-distance and opposite time zone. Yes, it sure is so hard that when it is time for me to sleep, that is when he wakes up and when it is time for me to wake up, that is the time when he gets to sleep. Our relationship requires a lot of sacrifices and adjustments especially because their time changes when it's Daylight Saving Time. ***So how did we do it?*** Tips on Making Your Relationship Last 1. **Trust each other** https://archive.discoversociety.org/2020/06/01/uncertain-times-trust-matters-during-the-pandemic/ One thing that is very important in relationships is trust. If you don't trust your partner, it'll be really hard to have a happy relationship because without trust, you'll end up always being suspicious about every little thing your partner does and trust me, that is really hard. At the same time, also take care of your partner's trust because once you lose it, it'll be so hard to take it back. 2. **Find time to do things together** This will be a lot easier with people who are near each other because they can just simply visit each other or go out and hang out a bit but to long-distance relationship couples out there, this can be a bit tricky. As to me and Carlos, we usually watch movies on Netflix together. I would call him on Skype, share my screen and then we could already watch the same show at the same time. That might be some little things but those little things count a lot. If you can visit that person, try your best to. 3. **Accept each other's differences** https://www.aconsciousrethink.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/love-vs-in-love.jpg Surely, both of you will have differences because no two individual share the same fingerprint which means, no two individuals are the same. Carlos and I have a lot of differences: he loves cars, I don't; he loves Sci-fi movies, I don't; our taste in music are different, he is mature in the way he think and I am so childish. But, we learn to accept those difference and respect it. We do watch Sci-fi movies together, too but we also watch Korean dramas (*which I love*) and he actually ended up loving it, too. 4. **Always be open to each other** https://www.psychalive.org/top-10-effective-communication-techniques-couples/ For us, we never hide secrets to each other. When there would be someone who will chat me from my past, I always tell him. When there is someone who'd say ***"Hi"*** to me when I am on my way to the market, I tell him. When there is something that pisses me off, I tell him and he does the same thing, too. We always share to each other what happens to our day. And of course, this also means, never lie to each other - **always be truthful.** 5. **Never let a fight last for more than a day** http://exultantestasy.blogspot.com/2014/02/demand-withdraw-cycle.html In relationships, there will always be fights and yes, that is normal. It is like the spices in a relationship and if you handle it well, it is something that could make your relationship stronger. Carlos and I have a rule to never let a fight last for more than a day. Whenever we fight, we always try our best to resolve it as soon as we can. I guess, I couldn't even remember when we have fought long. I guess, we also just can't resist each other. 6. Have Fun Together It is also a good thing to have fun together - just by simply being silly around each other. Trust me, Carlos already has almost 2,000 silly screenshots of me. And we keep laughing about it all the time. The bad thing is, I try to get back at him by taking silly screenshots of him too but, he still look cute and handsome though while me, I look really silly and dumb. But, it's okay. We're just enjoying each other's company. 6. **Communication is the key** https://www.mapconsulting.com/blog/communication/accountability-the-key-to-great-communication When Carlos and I first got together, communication was really hard since the only phone I got was a keypad phone that couldn't even connect to the internet. The only medium of our communication was my mom's laptop and there would be times when my mom would bring the laptop to her office so I really can't communicate the whole day or worst, the whole week (*if my mom decides to leave the laptop at her office*). But, I was determined to keep the communication. I would go to our internet café just to be able to message him but the thing is, when I do that, he is asleep so he couldn't even respond. I remembered being there for an hour waiting for him to respond and when he finally responded, it was already the last 5 minutes of my time at the internet café and I didn't have any money left anymore. We weren't in a relationship yet at the time - we were still getting to know each other. Sometimes, he would call me directly on my phone but, it will only be for few minutes since calling to the Philippines is way too expensive. And then one day, Carlos decided to send me a phone just so we could communicate. I got the phone but the next problem was, the internet signal was too slow that we couldn't even talk well when we video call. It will always say "***Internet connection problems...***". But that didn't hinder us. We were like BDO - **we find ways.** Until now, our internet connection is already fast so it has gotten a lot easier but sometimes, when I go to places that doesn't have signal, we couldn't communicate but we always find a way to communicate as much as we can. Usually, we would even be on a video call almost 24/7 when I am just at home. We see how each other sleeps - I could even hear him snore and I kept joking to him that his snore is so loud that it even reached the Philippines! Haha :D So yes, no matter how hard it can be, try to keep communicating to each other. It is the most important thing. Yes, it is said that ***"Absence makes the heart grow fonder."*** But always remember, too much absence can also lead to that person forgetting about you. Take This From Me: Being in a relationship isn't always easy - there will be a lot of ups and downs or even twists and turns. But if you really love each other and if you are really meant to be together, love will always find a way to keep you both together. It is a very nice feeling to be in love and be loved in return but the best feeling is falling in love with the same person you fell in love with over and over again. So, I hope this blog would at least help you in maintaining a happy and long relationship. I guess, most of these you already know but just take this as a reminder in case you forget. **If you want to read my previous blogs, check them out here:** How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes https://read.cash/@CarlosAndJane/how-to-clean-your-makeup-brushes-ff6a2c8f CarlosAndJane | An Introduction https://read.cash/@CarlosAndJane/carlosandjane-an-introduction-5db09a57

How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes In today's generation, people tend to be more open to the idea of doing makeup and also, having that glass skin those Korean girls we watch on TV have. People tend to now have a skin care routine that they follow to have that glass skin they have always been dreaming of and yes, that totally helps a lot but one thing they didn't probably know is, makeup brushes also play a huge role into maintaining a clear and glass skin. ****Benefits of Having Clean Makeup Brushes**** Before we talk about how to clean your makeup brushes, let us first discuss some benefits of having clean makeup brushes. ****Lessens acne-causing bacteria from spreading on to your skin.**** If you do not clean your makeup brushes, the makeup residue that is on there will build up and that would be a very nice home for acne-causing bacteria. And I'm sure you don't want that to be spreading on to your skin, right? ****Avoid clogging your pores**** Based on what I said on number 1, the makeup residue that is left on your makeup brushes can also cause to clog your pores. Our pores are very sensitive and when it gets clogged, it will result to a dull and broken out skin. ****Applies Makeup A Lot Better**** Think about a rug. If you use a rug over and over again without cleaning it, it will end up, messing up things more than actually cleaning it. The same thing goes with makeup brushes. When you keep using it without cleaning it, the makeup residue on there will end up mixing up and the color you wanted wouldn't even be the same anymore when you apply it since it has already been mixed with other makeup residue. But if it is clean, it will totally apply makeup a lot better. ****It keeps the bristles soft**** If a makeup brush is clean, it will definitely be soft and, trust me, it is very nice to do makeup if your makeup brushes are soft. It wouldn't hurt or irritate your skin. ****Keeps your brush last longer**** If you clean your makeup brushes regularly, it will end up lasting longer and will definitely save you a lot of money in the long run. So, those are why cleaning your makeup brushes is very important. **How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes** Since we have already discussed the benefits, now, let us get into how to clean your makeup brushes. I do have two ways on cleaning your makeup brushes: cleaning it everyday and deep cleaning. 1. Clean Your Makeup Brushes Everyday *****What you need:***** A good makeup brush cleaner Tissue or a cloth Your dirty makeup brush Personally, I use this makeup brush cleaner from **Ellana Mineral Cosmetics**. It is a spray makeup brush cleaner. https://www.ellanacosmetics.com/blogs/beautorials/keep-clean-4-ways-to-stay-sanitizedhttps://www.ellanacosmetics.com/blogs/beautorials/keep-clean-4-ways-to-stay-sanitized So, what you have to do is, just spray it into your brushes and then rub your brushes on a tissue and you can see the makeup residue transferring to the tissue and cleaning up the brush. https://www.ellanacosmetics.com/blogs/beautorials/anti-breakout-habits-to-keep-your-skin-happy It doesn't get your makeup brush really wet so after doing it, you can already use your makeup brush right after. This is very good if you are cleaning your makeup brush on the go. You can do this before and/or after doing your makeup. 2. Deep Cleaning But, doing that everyday will also be not enough to get rid of all the makeup residue on your brushes since it is only subtle cleaning and this is when deep cleaning comes in. It is important to deep clean your brushes at least once a week or once every two weeks (*if you are a very busy person*). *****What you need:***** Water Baby shampoo/liquid soap Vinegar Oil Makeup Brush Scrub Pad Your dirty makeup brushes I used to use **Johnson's** **Baby Shampoo** in cleaning my makeup brushes since they would end up leaving your brushes with soft bristles but recently, when I cleaned my brushes and I didn't have the baby shampoo, I used **Ariel Powder Detergent** instead and surprisingly, it worked a lot better than the baby shampoo I used to use. When I used the baby shampoo, there would still be some pinkish-red situation going on with my brushes because of the blush and some eyeshadow but with the powder detergent, they are all gone! And I guess, the bristles are still soft. *****So here is what you will do:***** ****Step 1****: Get a jar where your brushes could fit in. ****Step 2:**** Fill in the jar with water (*not too much water, maybe just a little less than a half of the jar*) https://www.floristinyou.com/white-stalk-and-lemons ****Step 3:**** Add in the baby shampoo or liquid soap or powder detergent (*whichever you have available*) ****Step 4****: Add a little bit of vinegar (*at least 2-3 teaspoons*) and oil (*at least 2-3 teaspoons*) ****Step 5****: Mix them all together and let the water bubble a bit ****Step 6:**** Dip in your makeup brushes and then leave it for about 25-30 minutes ****Step 7:**** After 25-30 minutes, start scrubbing the makeup brushes with the makeup brush scrub pad (*do it gently, not too harsh*) ****Step 8:**** When you are satisfied with how clean it is, start rinsing it off and do the same thing with the other makeup brushes you have ****Step 9:**** Once finished, let them air dry over night or, if you are lucky and it is sunny, you can let them dry under the heat of the sun to make the drying process quicker. So, there you have it! That is how you clean your makeup brushes. ****Remember:**** *"Clear and clean skin starts with clean makeup brushes."* I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and I hope you learned something! CarlosAndJane | An Introduction Hello everyone! Finally, I am able to sit still and write my introduction post. It has been a month when I actually made my account here but, took me a long time to even write an introduction post - *you know, writer's block to the highest level.* Why CarlosAndJane? If you haven't known me yet, you might be wondering why there are two names involved here. Well, let me tell you why. I am **Jane** and **Carlos** is my fiancé. We always do things together - on steemit, on youtube, and even on bitlanders. He doesn't want to create his own account because he just want to write under me. So, I ended up naming the account here **CarlosAndJane** for you will not be seeing only my writings but also his. :) Getting to Know Jane (ME) Well, I am just an ordinary Filipina girl living an ordinary life. If you would ask me, I would say, my life is so boring. I work from home so I am cooped up at home - *well, it is actually better especially now that there is a pandemic*. And actually, I like it more this way since I am an introvert person. I love observing people but I kind of don't want to deal with them - not unless they are very close to me or when I have some important business with them. I love doing makeup - it is something that makes me feel really happy whenever I am sad and bored. I don't have the nicest skin in the world but seriously, I am obsessed with skincare. I think, skin care isn't just making your skin nice. For me, it is more of showing yourself that you care about it and that you love it. It is more about self-love and I know, my future self will thank me for this. I love writing - obviously. But, I don't think my writings are good enough but no matter how it is, I keep trying. I love fur pets - I have a dog, 4 adult cats and 2 baby cats, and I also have 2 adult rabbits and 2 baby rabbits. Cats used to be my favorite pet in the world but when I got my bunnies, I guess, that got replaced. Getting to Know Carlos As I am writing this, Carlos is actually at work so, let me just introduce him to you. He is a Hispanic guy who lives in America. He is also an introvert person just like me and he doesn't like socializing with other people that much. He loves cars but mostly he likes old, vintage cars. He can talk to me about cars all day long. He loves mostly everything about technology - cellphones, laptops, and most especially computers. He loves breaking phones apart and putting them back together - yes, he has done that a lot of times already. He has an ear for music. He could definitely guess what year a song came up just by listening to it. I don't even know how he does that but he can. He loves watching Star Trek and other sci-fi movies and every time we watch it, I always fall asleep. Haha :D Well, it's not that I am bored with it. It's just that, I guess, my brain isn't too smart to handle it. So now, he is also getting into watching Korean dramas because of me. How Did We Meet? Well, we met in an online dating site but hey, I didn't really had any plans having to deal with online dating sites back then. But, an online friend of mine who I have also met on a blogging platform like this one asked me to sign up on a site and telling me, "***Maybe we could still meet here*****.**" I thought it was like a blogging site too but actually, it was an online dating site. I never met him there instead, I met Carlos. And, that incident, changed my entire life. How Long Have We Been Together? Okay, so, 2 days from now, we will be 5 years together. **YES**! 5 years! And guess what? We have only met in person only once. Our relationship is more on trust, commitment, and constant communication. Who would've thought our relationship will last thing long? Right now, we are actually working on tying the knot. We were supposed to do it last September but due to the pandemic and the travel restrictions, we weren't able to. So, hopefully, soon, we can. What to Expect from us? Well, based on what the things I have told you about, expect having some **skin care**, **makeup** and some **beauty-related blogs** from me. Also, some **rabbit** and **pet** blogs and just some random things that goes into my tiny mind. :D And from Carlos, expect some **technology**, **car-related stuff** because he loves talking about them. We hope we would be able to get to know more people here and I hope you enjoyed getting to know us, too. :)
