When You Feel Like Quitting

When you see everyone else working to make their lives easier, more convenient, less frustrating, basically looking to cut all the difficult things out of their lives, when you look at the rest of their lives, that should be an indication to you that maybe you need to look at life a little differently.

You really get after something. Total immersion in something means you can become unbelievably proficient at it. It's unbelievable to get people to believe you believe it.

You will be loaded with certainty, from product knowledge to beliefs to skills, and you will be completely immersed in I believe there is no B plan, no other plan, nothing completely immersed in Aside from dunking a basketball or hitting a 100-mile-an-hour fastball, these are things that are limited to human beings, but average ordinary people every single day succeed in the business of persuading people.

There is no limitation to being able to do it except for those things. A good fight is not necessarily the greatest fighter ever lived. It is where you want to go. You know what I mean when I say a good fighter is someone who is diligent, committed, and disciplined in doing something they despise but do with zeal.

The thing that I see people do is they don't understand that you should actually be seeking out the proper obstacles that are going to teach you the lesson and embrace them so that you can be better. Because, dude, we can talk about, whine about, and cry about everything in our lives, but only one thing will change it, and that is actually taking action to get where we want to go.

What you put in will produce the output. There are so many individuals out there that are so talented at different things that they never accomplish anything. The world is filled with talented people. You probably know a lot of them yourselves, and they never accomplish anything. With talent comes preparation, action, and the development of being able to take those talents, those skills, and continue to develop and continue to sharpen them.

Physically, continue to sharpen them mentally because, as a professional athlete, your physical talent will deteriorate at some point. That's just a fact, but what keeps that competitive edge? The ability to think and prepare mentally over and over again is what keeps you at the top.

The body has limitations. The mind does not focus so much on what goes on from the neck down that we forget it all starts from here. Everything starts from there. If you're not mentally ready, you're never really physically prepared, and that's where the preparation starts. I firmly believe that everybody in this room and everybody on this planet has a gift.

It is your responsibility to determine what that gift is. So when you see a situation that's difficult and you see a situation that you know other people don't want to do, you should maybe be the person who steps up to that and says, "Dude, I'm willing to do that because I learned this." I'm willing to take on that because I'm willing to get this skill.

I'm going to push through this adversity because I know it'll make me stronger. All right, so look at this as an opportunity for you to grow as opposed to something that you should run away from because it's going to be difficult.

This is something that champions and successful people, people who are great at what they do and live great lives that bring other people up, do not automatically embrace adversity and look for opportunities to get better and grow.

When you feel like quitting, think back why you started and why do you want to achieve your goal. Somehow, it will make the fire burning again and waken the desire within. Focus, just keep on pushing.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
