In 1973, Martin Cooper changed the world by his invention of cell phone. Though cellular technology concepts had already been created at AT&T, it was him and Motorola who presented that a more portable device is possible. By his desire to make people have the freedom to use a phone without being tied to their vehicle, home, or desk he came up to the idea of the cellular phone, which as time passes by was innovated and is now a very powerful device.

Cell phones has change the world and has affected the society both positively and negatively. Cell phones has serve as a necessary communications tool and it provides fast access to the internet wherein you don`t need to worry how to communicate with anyone effectively in an instant despite the distance that separates you with them, you can even talk to them through video calls in order for the both of you to see each other, unlike before which you can only communicate through writing method which will take lots of days before it can reach its recipient depending on how far you are to each other. It offers you another layer of personal safety, modern cellphone is undeniably portable, and so you can bring it with you anytime making it easy for you to call for emergencies whenever needed. It teaches children how to be responsible, they can learn in their early age with the tutorial videos uploaded in the internet, just make sure the presence of parents is present during this times. It also offer useful entertainment options applicable for both adults and teens, you can also store, share, and delete photos and videos conveniently. Most especially cell phones have become a powerful learning tool especially now that we are experiencing this pandemic, lots of student uses this as a new medium of for their virtual learnings.

Having all the advancements a cellular phone has brought us, it also has lots of disadvantage that affected the people in the society in different ways. It has become one of the leading causes of many vehicular accidents that happens each year. The fast access on the internet can lead to student cheating instead of reviewing and studying their notes, especially now that we are having the virtual learning as the new learning mode. Cell phones promote higher levels of e-waste in our trash and recycling systems, and its batteries can overheat which may result to explosion. Sexual exploitation becomes a real threat with cell phones and it increases the risk in cyberbullying, everyone can post and edit whatever they want now, not minding the people who might be affected of the work they done. People of all ages has become addicted to it, creating distractions engaging themselves more time on browsing and using it than offering the free time they have for family bonding and for any other productive works.
