Anyway, I won't divert off my topic for today so let's get to it.
Are you planning to read manga for the time? Or maybe you've read one before but you don't know much about the genre? Or maybe you can't differentiate a manga from the rest? Don't worry because I'll be talking fully about Mangas today, So let's kick-off.
MANGAS
Manga (Japanese: 漫画) are comics or graphic novels originating from Japan. The term manga is used in Japan to refer to both comics and cartooning. Outside of Japan, the word is typically used to refer to comics originally published in the country.
History of Manga
Although modern manga came to be amid an expansion of artistic creativity during the US occupation of Japan between 1945 and 1952, their origins can be traced centuries back. What many believed were the very first manga in Japan appeared in the 12th and 13th century.
Characteristics of Mangas
Manga stories are typically printed in black-and-white—due to time constraints, artistic reasons (as coloring could lessen the impact of the artwork) and to keep printing costs low although some full-color manga exist. In Japan, manga are usually serialized in large manga magazines, often containing many stories, each presented in a single episode to be continued in the next issue. Collected chapters are usually republished in volumes, frequently but not exclusively paperback books.
Manga usually follows the traditional style as found in Japan. Japanese manga is to be read from the right side to the left. Not only do you read the pages from right to left, but you also read the panels and text from right to left.
Manga characters almost always have large eyes, small mouths, and abnormal hair color. Manga characters usually show overexaggerated emotions. When a character cries, tears pour out in buckets; when they laugh, their face seems engulfed by the size of their mouth, and their eyes become slits. An angry character has rosy cheeks and steam roiling around the body.
