Professionals say that as the pandemic finally comes to an end, tourism will bounce back the most to the Asian countries.

In that case, let me feature some of the top tourist destination nations here in Asia.

Let’s start with the unbelievably beautiful Kingdom of Thailand!

Did you know that there over one thousand four hundred and thirty islands and forty thousand temples, in which mostly are still active in use, in Thailand? If you’re ready, then brace on as I highlight important facts you should know about this Southeast Asian country.

Fact 1: While most countries in Asia have a history of European colonization, Thailand is the only Southeast Asian nation that was never colonized by any European country. That is why Thailand, in their own language, means “Land of the Free.”

Fact 2: Siamese cats are native to Thailand. As we are all familiar with, Siam was the original name of the country before it was changed to Kingdom of Thailand in 1948. Before, there used to be 23 types of Siamese cats but now, there’s only six.

Fact 3: The flag of Thailand has five horizontal stripes with colors red, white, blue, white and red that’s why it is impossible to hang it upside down due to its symmetrical design.

Places to Visit

1. Chiang Mai

If you want to have a breath of fresh air, in Chiang Mai, you can enjoy the ancient constructions and green, tropical forests.

2. Ayutthaya

This ancient city is located in north of Bangkok and used to be the capital of the country back in the 14th century. The kingdom and its ruins called the Ayutthaya Historical Park is now a UNESCO site. You may note believe but this park has three rivers surrounding it.

3. Bangkok

Being Thailand’s capital city, you don’t ever want to miss its vibrant street and of course, do not skip any attraction located here such as the Grand Palace, it is the royal residence of generations which was built in 1782. There’s also the Wat Traimit, the Temple of the Golden Buddha, where you can see the giant gold shining statue of Buddha, Chatuchak Market, a perfect place for shoppers where you can buy random items from jewelries to lamps and many other more souvenir items.

4. Phuket

Phuket, Thailand is the number one spot for souls looking for quiet and serene beaches. Here you can find crystal-clear water, outstanding cuisines, luxury resorts, spas, restaurants, and a destination to forget that the world is cruel out there.

This is the largest island in the Andaman Sea so make sure to put it on your bucket list. And if you got here, you might want to enjoy walking around to see the beauty of old houses and busy markets.

Thailand is a busy city with immense history. You will not only be going home with fancy pictures but also with great historical knowledge. If you want to visit nature’s finest forests and beaches, history’s well-grounded sites and parks, and discrete culture and tradition all at once, then now is the right time to plan your trip to Thailand.

It’s true that Asian countries have wonderful tourist destinations that feel like home. I hope to see you in our next stop with this series!
