Have you ever thought about the roots of trees that could be fingers? As an image. The old trees, with cracked bark, look like elephant legs and the roots look like fingers spreading across the ground.

I actually think of the branches of trees as their arms, hands, and fingers. Their roots I think of appendages like tentacles that they use to anchor themselves in the ground.
