Hi friends, today we are talking about Splinterlands or rather one of the monsters of this fantastic game built on Blockchain.
He is part of the death element and is envied by the famous Stark characters of the "Throne of Swords" who have a dire wolf as their logo! ... but these are not dire wolves in our game they are far more dangerous than those in the tv series.
Perfect defence but also attack machines, they can be used as a tank but also in the rear thanks to their ability.
I use this monster whenever I can because, although at low level it is not that strong, its ability is very useful for me to use this card as a second tank and be able to better defend my monsters in the rear, at level five with the appearance of his second ability becomes a real fighting and defence monster.
As always we will do a rundown of the characteristics of this huge Wolf to conclude with an epic or a rather legendary battle.
Let's talk about a card that I often use lives on the island of MORTIS and is called:
SPINEBACK WOLF
These Wolves are defence machines but also attack machines, their body is covered with thorns that can hit their enemies only by getting close, while their teeth are so sharp that they can tear the back of a BROK.
Their corrosive saliva is also lethal and the Gloridax extract it for use as a weapon.
This card belongs to the ALPHA / BETA edition, is a common card of the DEATH element that can also be used by DRAGONS and has a MELEE attack.
SPINEBACK WOLF can be upgraded to level ten.
Beware of RULESETS such as LITTLE LEAGUE which allows the use of monsters with a mana cost of four or less, KEEP YOUR DISTANCE which does not allow the use of cards with MELEE and ODD ONES OUT attack and EVEN STEVENS which allows the use of only cards with even mana.
Inserting this card in your deck is almost a priority despite my base level and looking at the characteristics of this card once upgraded I believe that even further in the league this card is indispensable or almost.
SPINEBACK WOLF starts with attack one and can be upgraded up to three by reaching level eight on the card.
Speed is certainly one of its strengths, it starts and ends with six, very high and makes this monster very difficult to hit.
At the base level, he has one armour and reaches a maximum of two while life 3 reaches six at maximum level.
This wolf, also envied by the "Starks" of the "Throne of Swords" has the REACH ability already from the first level, this power allows him to attack from the second row despite having a MELEE attack.
Level five adds a second THORNS power skill which I really like and think is one of the strongest in the game.
This ability reflects some of the MELEE damage to opponents hitting it.
The MANA cost of five I think at base level is a bit high but by upgrading the card I think it is appropriate.
We just have to see SPINEBACK WOLF in action !!
LET'S GOOOO!
RULESETS:
STANDARD: No changes to Rulesets in-game.
MANA: 28
DEPLOYMENT:
In this battle I deployed the DEATH element and chose ZINTAR MORTALIS Summoner RARE with a MANA cost of 3, this card has the power to decrease opponents' MELEE attacks by one.
In the front row, I have deployed the Tank BONE GOLEM RARE card of the DEATH element with VOID ability that allows the monster to reduce the magic attacks received, in this game wrong choice since my opponent has not deployed cards with magic attack.
He has a lot of life and armour, and even if his ability turned out to be useless he still has good stamina.
In the second row, I have inserted our Challenge SPINEBACK WOLF card, the only place where our monster can stand in this game thanks to its REACH ability.
In the third position, I have deployed MANTOID common card NEUTRAL has the SNIPE ability and its attack priority is cards with RANGED, MAGIC or no attack.
This monster has a RANGED attack of two and can attack from the rear.
In the last position, I entered the CYCLOPS card RARE Neutral does not possess powers but has a ranged attack of two and a good amount of life.
My opponent chose DRAGONS by sending a KRUTCH TALLEVOR EPIC card onto the field with no abilities and a MANA cost of three.
As Tank entered GOBLIN MECH NEUTRAL common card with PIERCING ability, this power allows excess damage on armour to be reflected on life.
He has a large amount of life six and a lot of armour five, this monster is very difficult to take down.
My opponent has joined the EARTH element to the DRAGONS by deploying in second position CHILD OF THE FOREST RARE card with SNIPE abilities like my MANTOID, has Ranged attack and can therefore attack from the rear.
In the third row he placed the GOBLIN CHARIOT RARE card with a RANGED attack, it is a NEUTRAL card and has no abilities.
In the fourth and fifth row, he has inserted two other NEUTRAL cards but without attack, the first is CREEPING OOZE with SLOW ability that decreases the speed of the opposing cards, while the second and last card is the nice and revolutionary FURIOUS CHICKEN RARE card with cost in zero mana.
It took seven rounds to win the game, as expected GOBLIN MECH was a tough nut to crack but my Tank and our wolf slowly managed to weaken it allowing my other cards to win the game.

SPINEBACK WOLF at base level is not among the strongest there are but its ability allows it to be used as a second Tank in case the first is killed prematurely.
At level five with the appearance of his second ability, it definitely becomes a more interesting card ... placed it on my list of cards to upgrade.
If you haven't tried this game yet my advice is to do it this is my link referral you can use the link if you like it or not but the point is always the one game to try! :-)
