Dream About Old Boss: What Does It Mean?

I visited my old boss. We were having a conversation and quite happy with whatever it was that we talked about.

That was my dream the other night. It was about my former employer. I visited them again. The workplace, my former colleagues and of course the machines that make the company exist.

I have made article posts about dreams and I have also posted dreams about my old work. You know like I am still at the company working as though it was real. I always dream about them and sometimes I just ignore those dreams but I know it has something to do with my life.

But one thing that makes me think of it is that I always dream about my old boss.  Since I have left the company and work overseas I have been dreaming about her (my old boss) and sometimes ordinary scenes when I was still working at the company.

When I personally talked to my old boss about my resignation, I did not tell her the truth of which country I will be going to work. Because you know I really don’t want her to know about what will happen to my career if I leave. I admit I hate her policies and I often broke her rules. So I found ways on how to leave until I had a chance to do it. Nevertheless, she accepted my resignation. I can sense that she wanted to prevent me from leaving by offering a salary increase which I already expected but she did not dare. I think she can sense too that I was determined with my decision.

When I returned to the country, I visited her but I was already connected to one of the BPOs here in QC. Somehow she was happy to see me. I told her that I already left the printing industry. It was like nothing happened. I remember she offered me to work with her again during my free time for a side income. I was pleased when she said that, at least I am still welcome.

But then, my old boss appeared again in my dream the other night. What is it that she always appears in my dreams? I have been reading about dreams and as far as I know, when the dream is recurring, there is something that needs to settle or fix from the past. It may not be a big problem or conflict with the person we left but there is something that we need to do to keep it from appearing in our dreams in the future.

I started thinking of things looking for clues that might solve the issue but I can’t think of any. So I searched for meaning on the internet and I have found several explanations from some websites.

In deciphering the meanings of my dreams below are some explanations I have found.

Not satisfied with current job

I don’t think I am not satisfied with my current job. The fact that I have switched my career from hard labor work to office work will prove that I am content with what I do right now.  Time is more important to me and I don’t see any means that I wasted it these days.

Important or Unimportant

This makes sense I think. Our former boss/employer is important to us. It doesn’t matter if we have bad or good relationships with them.  Our experiences and influences come from them.  Sometimes we may think that they are no longer important to us for some reason but they made us who and what we are right now. Our dreams about them will no longer show how they treated us in the past. It will depend on how we visualize the dream in order to move on.

 Asserting your personality

It might be that I am confident enough with what I do right now. As I have said, I am satisfied with the nature of my current work. Somehow I am trying my best to show them how to be good at this type of work. Since it is far from my previous job, which is more of physical labor.

We all know that the BPO industry consists of different types of people with different personalities. It is more likely that we can meet with these types of people. Honestly sometimes I have to pretend whenever I meet new people from different departments and operations. But please note that pretending in such cases doesn't have a negative connotation. So in order to fit in we have to pretend and it could be challenging because you have to change your behavior according to the people around you. For me this is one way to gain friends and know who is real or not.

Anyway, I hope I have not consumed much of your time reading this as it is kind of lengthy again. I just want to have answers to my recurring dreams. I think I should visit my old boss again one of these days. Who knows she might have something for me to offer or it could be that there is a need to settle. What do you think?
