TheSplinterlands art contest week #258 (cursed windeku)
This week the character from Splinterlands cards im drawing is Cursed windeku. So this character is like a tall slender figure lurking in swaps eating meat and animals . So the body was like skin to bones .He has horns like branches of a tree and his eyes are all dark leaving the crimson pupils . This character is kinda scary and disgusting at the same time but as a horror fanatic i love that .
So firstly i kept all the above characteristic aspects in my mind and sketched it out after that i neatly traced it over an digital drawing app called Medibang paint pro and turned it into a lineart.
Next i filled flat colors in it so there is no clothing just details on skin so i shaded his body with a water color wet brush kept shading it and erased the parts like the ribs so they look highlighted . I added a gradient brown background so it gives a swamp like feeling next i shaded the horns and the eyes too.
After this i colored the lineart accordingly with the same shades just bit darker i switched the background to a more purplish tone and added highlights to the windeku like the light was coming from the front and after that i added some minced meat to his hand and splashes of red blood on his teeth and face by using a splash brush and red color just set them mode to multiply its gives a blood stain effect .
And here is the final look.
I highly enjoy joining this challenge because every week i draw something thats not my comfort zone different types of bodies and deformed figures which gives us alot of experience so i love that about Splinterlands art contest.

Sky tells a new story everyday . (Weekly blog)
Every week i tell a little tale of things i learnt and experienced in the week .
Here is how was my past week .
On monday i woke really early and i saw a beautiful seen from one direction sun was coming up while i could still see the moon peeking out with these cotton like clouds . I absolutely enjoyed the seen by laying down on my hammock and staring at the sky
On Tuesday my mom made nehari and i absolutely loved it with these garnished fried onions and coriander it was just wow . Apparently since im vegan this one was made Seperately for me amd my mom made it with vegetable stock and pumpkin soup it was just delicious 🤤.
On Wednesday another sky pic but this time it was a sunset picture with orange clouds and a small crescent peeking at us from far .
On Thursday my 7 year old brother made this cute little clay sculpture for me and i loved it its actually now on the top of my shelf . I personally cherish all the little crafts any one does for me .
On Friday i actually caught Shiro's kitten well he has grown up so fast here i was trying to take pictures of him while he just was judging me with his bombastic side eyes 😂
On Saturday i was up on my roof and here are some amazing pictures of my vietnamese roses so its Vietnamese rose season and i really love taking photographs of these since they die really soon . Its just a great feeling to be near something so beautiful
On sunday i completed my sketch and thats how the week wrapped up.

Painting a little scenery
I love painting sceneries this is a hobby since i first saw bob ross painting so i just pull out an episode and listen to how he tells us to paint its just soothing and relaxing after that i make my own version of them.
So for this one i took a mini sketchbook cut out and taped it over the back of my sketchbook with washi tape.
First step is to cover the page with a thin white paint coat and paint with wet on wet technique so i dipped the tip of my brush into a red shade and in a cris cross brush stroke i painted the middle of the sky its a very pale red not so visible after that i added some blue to the top in the same criss cross strokes this gives a gradient blended sky view .
After that i added a blue rectangle to bottom with a lighter blue in the middle blended that too. Now i mixed a purple into more black and red and made this deep magenta color now i painted mountains with this the color of the mountains slowly fades downwards . I shaded and added highlights to the mountains too by mixing some white in the same color and some Black too.
Next i added another layer of mountains in the front as well shaded those as well and added some pine trees to the side with a feather brush . For the trees and foliage i used a dark green and afterwards i just put some light green on top and some yellow too it gave it a more vibrant and detailed look.
Then i added some more yellow dots in front and here are the two paintings i did with the same methods .

Drawing a cat Vase (simple digital art tutorial blog)
As a plant person somethings i love are planters and i really saw this one vase sold out so i actually wanted to paint it .
Here is how firstly i started by making a inverted (J) shape i duplicated it and flipped it added ears and a tail and thats is our cat vase body base .
Next i added eyes and a face so our lineart is complete here .
Now for the leaves i added 3 sets of leaves and shaded them differently on different layers because not all leaves of a single plant are the same color it just created a bit of depth when you're drawing . Also when you're drawing nature and greenery use less saturated dull colors a neon green would not look good unless its in highlights and shading .
After that i colored the vase i wanted it to look like terracotta vase so i made it a slight pink brown color and colored the lineart similarly. Next i shaded the vase too.
Now for the back ground i added a yellow wall with a table or counter on which the vase is i shaded the table too and added a shadow to our vase
and here is the final result ❤️

Sketchtember week 2 ( a crossover)
Im beyond happy to know that @artpark is active again . For who don't know this was a community active on read cash that would provide us weekly prompts to draw .I really missed the community and im so happy to see it active now on Hive too .
So I'm following week 2 #sketchtember prompt the option i chose was a cross over and so i decided to mix two of my favorites artists and there work to be drawn as a crossover .
I'm a big horror fanatic so Tim Burton has been one of my favorite artists i love his work on "Night before Christmas" and " Corpse bride" .
As much as i love Tim Burton i also love Junji Ito's work . Junji Ito is a horror manga artist and one of his famous characters is Tomie and i absolutely love her charisma .
So i decided to create a cross over for both . I drew Tomie as a Tim Burton character .
Apparently Tim Burton characters are very unique they have these sharp features and visible cheek bones the eyes are very big and with dark circles but the pupils aren't dilated . Noses in Tim Burton characters are quite narrow so i kept that in mind and started drawing. Now Tomie has unique features to her like her beauty spot near her eye , her fringes and long hair so i kept that in mind and created this.

I actually really enjoyed doing this . @artpark prompts are always very creative and a perfect thing to pull an artist out of there art block

The woman that inspired me (Loh#150)
This weeks LOH prompt was to talk about a woman from my country that i identify with and why.
So the woman im talking today about is one of the most youngest influential figures of both India and Pakistan .
She brought the pop culture to both nations one in an era when men used to be on top. As most people would already noticed im talking about Nazia Hassan .
Nazia Hassan was a pop singer she debuted along side her brother Zohaib hassan . Won a filmfare award for best female playback singer . She was a lawyer a singer and so much more.
She is the reason i believe that a woman can do anything she puts her heart into . Unfortunately world and fate are cruel to such wonderful people .
She died really young had a tough life after her marriage she was divorced while she was fighting lung cancer .
Why i identify with her is because you can be the most beautiful , the most perfect , the most kindest person but there will always be people that tell you they will be there for life but they would leave you , there will be people that will cash your pain , time is unkind and you need to fulfill your dreams without knowing what comes tomorrow .
She actually died the year i turned 1 and i still remember casettes of hers playing as i danced .Her songs were way older than me but Nostalgically they were the ones that raised me as i used to stop crying in my cradle if my mom played her song "Dum dum di di "
Growing up if i ever wanted to thank a celebrity to being a huge influence in my life i would be thanking her .
Its funny how a person with such a soulful voice and such a joyful personality had so much pain in her heart .
I often see myself like her criticized for being young and talented . Told to stop because im a women . Being played by people that i thought of dearly . But i guess thats how the world works .

Splinterlands art contest week #257 (Magi necrosi)
For my entry this week the character im drawing is called (Magi Necrosi)
So the character is pretty much cover in a hood and has this dark aura yet his eyes are glowy and in his hands we see flaring red glowy bubbles .
So i kinda kept those details in mind and made a sketch on a rough paper first . Then i converted it into a clean line art on an Android app called Medibang paint pro . I personally always keep every element of the lineart on different layers its easy to paint the lineart this way.
The next step was to add flat colors and for the clothes i used a warm green color and added a dull red to the gloves made his skin like a shadow and his eyes a mint color . Next i added a gradient background to him . I wanted a starry night with clouds behind him so i added the stars too.
Now i added some clouds in the back too with a cloud brush and started shading his clothes and gloves with a water color wet brush . I added a darker shade to the edges of the glove and guassian blurred it this gives it a more shaded look . Similarly i did all the shading on his clothes too . I also duplicated the layer of his eyes and set the layer on add and guassian blurred it , this gives a glowy effect to the eyes .
After this i colored the lineart .Now for the glowy bubbles i drew red wobbly spots on the top most layer and set it on over lay in layer blending mode duplicated the layer and again set it on divide and slightly picked it up to the side and lowered its opacity this way it gave more of tht rgb filter effect .
And here is the final result after some color adjustments.

Kitty on a tree a little scenery
So today I thought about drawing a simple scenery. This one is a quick tutorial the tree was kinda pointy but yeah we make mistakes and learn from them.
First of all i added a sky gradient i used darker shades of blue at the top and lighter at the bottom because thats how sky is its mostly dark at the top in night .
Next i added stars i did this by dotting everywhere on screen and erasing at the bottom then i added clouds with my custom brush but Medibang app has a cloud brush too. Next i made a moon behind the cloud layer because clouds aren't supposed to be behind the moon .
I made a big pale yellow circle and shaded it made some moon crates that is for our sky now lets add some more stuff like this black silhouette of a grill along with a cat and Tree so i apparently drew the tree a little snobby by making it pointy which turned out a bit bad but I didn't correct it so we see and learn why we shouldn't make the branches pointy cause well then they look like tentacles .
Next i added a layer on top corrected the saturation and added some highlights to the silhoutes and there is our final result

Diy wire wrap ring
I had ordered rose quartz beads and i wanted to make a little wire wrap ring out of them and this one is an easy way to make one .
So i actually took 4 inch of 18 gauge copper wire then wrapped it like a spiral on a marker or a nail paint brush thats the size of your finger after wrapping this i inserted a rose quartz bead in the spiral and i looped the extra wire around the bead and wrapped the excess wire on either side of the bead and just sanded the sharpe edge with a filer and here is the final result.
Its cute elegant and i personally liked the ring .I also am a fidgety person so when im free i play with the ring by rotating the bead .

Splinterlands art contest weeck # 256 (Shadow snitch)
My Entry this week for the Splinterlands art contest week # 256 im drawing a character called Shadow Snitch .
So this character is like a lurking in dark long limbed monster that has 4 arms and a face with a yellow sunken eye .
First of all i did a rough sketch for the character its more like the ribs are showing out of skin and it has these long limbs and wrinkly skin to bone look so i sketched this and converted it digitally into a line art in Medibang paint pro.
Next i filled flat color in the the character i used a pale green gray and i added another layer on top since the character has no clothing but just the skin it revolves alot of shading .
I used water color wet brush to shade the skin like where the bones will be emphasized and i guassian blurred it . Took a darker shade of blue green and again shaded the back and the hands next i added a bit gradient from side si it looks like a light shadow .
After shading the skin i started coloring the lineart . I colored it with a gray dull blue tone .
Then i shaded his hair with a white shade and painted his eye added a glowy highlight to it.
Next i added a gradient background to it and clipped a navy blue layer on top of it all changed the layer blending mode to overlay and turned the opacity low .

A week of being Creative
So this week i was really sick like i couldn't get up and out of bed sick . But thats not how life is right so i forced myself out of bed and did all the necessary things . I just wanna say sometimes even little tasks like making your bed , brushing your hair can be difficult because you are not functioning well . In those days you have to get up despite anything and pretend to be fine . Its fine to rest but don't let depression and stress take all over you . Here is what i did whole week.
First of all on Monday i painted a mountain scene on a sketchbook card i used poster colors for this . Because anytime im sad i wanna just draw beautiful scenery or sketches . Art is my escape in such days . That doesn't mean i slacked all day i just did the necessary work like making tea and having fruits and water bottles beside me so i can eat and stay hydrated . But i didn't over work thats important too do whats necessary but don't over do it.
On Tuesday i watched a animated series called strange planet and its like bunch of aliens on a strange planet making strange decisions that i actually feel like yeah thats so relatable i apparently liked it alot it was a wholesome short series i might write a review on it
On Wednesday i felt little better so i did my laundry and completed my sketch from last week and tbh im in love with it the jaw line and shading all seemed so good it made me happy to see progress
On Thursday i actually didn't feel like cooking so i bought a salad from a pizza Place but tbh . I don't understand how Russian Salads here are i mean they put bunch of leftovers together and call it Russian salad here . Like it had cold speghatti with macaroni and pineapples with mayo , cream , onions , olives , chickpeas , mushrooms , ketchup ,tamarind and mixed into a sweet sour thing . As picky im i paid so i was against wasting it but as a took a bite surprisingly it wasn't bad at all . Not my favorite but its good .
On Friday since i felt really better i cooked come corn on cob over a grill on coals and just seasoned it Pakistani way that is with a lemon and chaat masala.
On Saturday i actually didn't do much since u again had a bad fever guess i over worked on Friday but well here is a cute moment i wanted to share . Its when i was doing aroma therapy in room with my mini cat diffuser i added eucalyptus essential oil and it just smelled great my head ache was way better i felt at ease and the cat lamp looked so cute 🥺🥰
On Sunday i again sketched a bit its not finished yet but so far it looks cute.
This week was a bit upside down but that's life .

Doodling my thoughts ( a cute skull vase )
Just like every week here is another quick and easy Art blog. This blog is for beginners who wanna learn drawing . Im drawing digitally but you can use any medium you like .
So this week im actually not doing so well so i decided to paint what i thought of that was death and flowers and so i made a little skull vase doodle and here is how.
I made a circle and transformed it digitally into a more oval shape . ( app im using is called Medibang paint pro) next i add two )( under that oval and connect it and erase the extra oval this is gonna be the base of our skull .
Next i did " |_| " shape this will be like teeth on our skull and the upside down heart will be the nose cavity . Its a doodle so just draw what shapes a skull has visibly.
So i know skulls have hollow eye cavities and a bony structure and i drew that . Next i added 3 flowers in his eye cavity and that's our Lineart.
I drew everything on different layers the bones and skull on one and eye nasal cavities on other and the flowers on another one because i will color the lineart of these differently
Next i filled the skull with a pale gray color and the flowers too with vibrant colors and the lineart i changed the color of each too and you can see the difference coloring the lineart adds .
In end i added a gradient background to it and here is the final look.
Not every thing is supposed to be a masterpiece sometimes you draw how you feel like and it shouldn't be perfect art is suppose to just make you feel certain things .

Differences i would make in the world if i could
If i could do one thing i would end World hunger and make it compulsory to learn about kitchen Gardening .
How would i end World hunger ? According to a statistic conducted in 2022 about 27% of the whole world population is kids which is over 1.9 billion and there are homeless people living in the streets .
My plan would be buying land in every town and making it a park where all the homeless people could learn to grow and grow fruit trees and vegetables and would be provided shelter in there like a dorm with multiple beds . It would be a public spot to have picnics and its not only better for the economy but also for the climate change . I would make all schools teach how you can you can reuse organic waste and make compost and use it for gardening not only they can learn new skills from a young age but also they can help in reducing waste and making our future better . The kids would be Paid a wage for volunteering and learn this all up and thats how they learn being independent and working hard from a young age .
I would make systems to reward the people who bring their reusable bottles and plastic bags and deposit them . So more people are encouraged not to throw them away senselessly .
Criminals would be given the punishment to clean out the beaches and sea . On days when public is not allowed to be on the beaches so our tourist points become more attractive and also a better place for the sea creatures .
Global warming is a big problem and i would take initiatives to reduce it reverse it . And work on the. Carbon foot print issue .
If i could i would try to make this world a better place to live in .

Responsibilities over little shoulders. (LOH#148)
This weeks LOH#148 Topic was a very interesting . It was about Kids being burdened with Responsibilities by Their Families . Now in my opinion there is always two point of views to see a thing.
Now in my home after I was in 8th standard I was told to cook and learn cooking in Kitchen with mom , that followed by chores like dusting ,taking trash out ,bathing my little siblings , making tea for all and opening doors at anytime of the day .
Now this routine wasn't just for me but when my brother was a certain age he also learnt similar things and we would divide duties . The reason my parents did this was to make their kids more mature and responsible we weren't doing everything we were just helping around and that way we also would get paid a better pocket money.
Now as I say that my heart wrecks because not all kids are fortunate and not all parents are that affectionate. Some people are forced into adulthood at younger age I have seen many many examples like that.

Forced Child Marriage:
When I was in 9th standard there was a friend named Khizra I really adored she always got straight "A" in every class . She was punctual. I loved talking to her because she would teach me the lessons very easily . I often told her One day she will be a great teacher . Her dream was to become a Professor and teach at a university . But it all changed when her dad got her married at 15 to her family friends son who was also 16 . Its illegal here to marry minors but the police were never involved no one said a word and we all knew it after 2 months of her marriage. The way we found out was that she had a baby bump at 15 and it was almost time for our exams . Khizra's grades didn't drop she aced each test still but as the baby was born she was forced to drop out of the school to care for her baby . I still remember how all her dreams were shattered with just responsibilities that weren't hers . They took her freedom away and told her that her only priority is her baby . I would say no matter what at least if she was given a chance to study she would have proved everyone wrong . They took that chance away too.
Another story is of my own cousin and this one is a bit different .
Responsibilities passed on:
My aunt had Stomach ulcers that she didn't treat and always was like its just a little stomach ache drank remedy potions until the day she couldn't bare it any longer her daughters being 14 and 17 at that time were sad to see her this way they couldn't afford a nurse for her and now she had a surgery due . There dad was busy in the office earning money for the surgery and my cousins looked after the home from cooking to laundry and everything. Not only that now they were looking after their mom too and after the surgery my aunt went on a feeding tube and my cousins were taking care of her like a baby . Up until my aunt died . The most sad thing is that I see them too mature for their ages working so hard . They should have been going out having fun instead they were given responsibilities by fate .
Some are forced by family some by fate and all we can do is Pray that may they be strong . There is a big difference between giving kids Responsibilities and taking their life's away with our bad decisions.i think the world needs to Understand that 😔

Recycling my Trash into a BTS Frame
So i always have a bag where i keep my recyclable trash and i try to make cute crafts out of them so this week i made a cute little bts themed opening frame that can be stuck inside your cupboard or on your notebook .
The things i used are
A wet wipe lid
Some stickers to decorate
An plastic wrapper that came off my phone's screen protector
Some card sheet from old biscuit box
A picture
And a double tape
So the lid actually has a hollow back and this rind will be used as the frame so behind it i stuck double tape and stuck the plastic cut it and now its like a protective layer for the picture next i decorated the whole lid with stickers and after that i cut an oval piece just like the lid stuck half of it with the double tape over the plastic layer the half i left open is because that's where we will put our picture .
I cut the pictures corners so it can fit and here is the final look.
I used a Fan edit of V in this frame this frame is for my little sister who is a big BTS fan and this was a great project .
I always encourage people to reduce reuse and recycle their trash .
Because one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Splinterlands art contest week #255 ( Lira the Dark)
So for this week the character im drawing is "Lira the dark " so her aura is like a very dark fem queen and she loves jewelry . Kinda like Ursula but better.
So i first sketched a character . This week I'm trying some variations with my art style i went for a more cartoony style like the old Daria cartoon and i made her body really curvy with that big eyes nd luscious pillow lips next i drew a leather dress on her after that here was my finished sketch and then i digitally converted it into a lineart on my phone in an app called Medibang paint pro .
So i actually had to redraw the jewelry and refine the lineart again because the jewelry of this character tells alot about her persona .
I filled flat colors in her skin and dress and hair every thing on a different layer after this i shaded her skin by clipping another layer on top the shading was done using a water color wet brush then i guassian blurred it . Same way i shaded her clothes .
After wards i painted her eyes with minor minimalistic details like the shine in her eyes and the lips being more pouty and contoured
So this week for hair i used another technique that mostly i see in old comics i drew every strand of hair with pen sharp brush this gives it a more detailed hair look
Now for the fun part as i love painting jewelry and metallic pieces here i firstly filled her neck piece and earrings with a silver and a golden color and next i shaded the jewelry with three different tones of the same color so it looks metallic and has a shiny lustre after that i added rubies with my custom ruby brush and thats for the jewelry
So i also painted her sleeves that had like a silver wire work and the buttons on her corset . I also added buckles to her knee high leather boots . After this i added a gradient purple blue background now Lira has this bug red lightening around her and to draw that i used zigzag pattern with my pen sharp brush duplicated the layer and set it to add and guassian blurred it this way it looks like its glowing .
After that because the lightening has its own glow the light will also highlight some parts of body and i highlighted them with red and then i added a light blue highlight to the other side with a blue shade and TBH her leather dress looked stunning this way.

A week of being independent.
On Monday it was Pakistan's independence day and so just like every year i did a annual art work that is for my Country because well im just patriotic . So we didn't have a grand celebration instead i went out to help the poor and needy did some charity because i believe only we can build a better future for the nation by being better people.
On Tuesday i went up on my roof and gathered all the jasmine flowers i could find these will go perfect for my organic jasmine oil and tea so i collected them all even the dried ones and i took the petals of on a paper towel wrapped it up and kept it safe this way the petals will dry out for the tea a great way to preserve flowers
On Wednesday we watched an Indonesian horror movie called "Hidayah" and let me tell y'all it was one of the most terrifying horror movies i have ever watched . I rate it 9.6/10
Thursday i watched an anime called Heavenly dillusions . Tbh im still at episode 3 and so far the anime looks worth watching
On Friday i noticed one of my Pomegranate tree had a fruit and i got so happy seeing it ❤️ i hope it grows well amen . Idk if you can relate but as a Gardner fruits on my plants are like babies to me i just feel so proud and overwhelmed
On Saturday we had a pizza with alot off cheese cottage cheese olives sausages and bell peppers it was worth it
On Sunday i started Sketching again in my free time and this is still in making .
So thats how my week went how was your week ?
Making a little snack( Leftover Lentil sandwich )
So i always end up hungry at wrong times and today we had no gas in stove and i couldn't wait for the food to be ordered from out so i made my own vegan snack . Here is how .
So i had leftover Lentils and i also had some of my cashew sour cream that's why i decided to make a sandwich
Ingredients:
Cashew sour cream ( or mayonaise)
Tomato slices
Leftover lentils or beans
Ketchup
Bread .
Method:
I took two pieces of bread spread my Vegan mayonnaise on one which is just blended up cashews with lemon juice , Next i applied two slices of tomatoes on it .
I had leftover lentils and i just added lemon juice and some garam masala to it (you can use beans or humus too patties even )
After this i added a generous amount of ketchup on top
And here is the Sandwich . The lentil mix tasted wonderful and the cashew cream added to the flavor too . I loved it and i would suggest you to try this with you leftover lentils or beans

Drawing a cute Wizard frog
Every week i post a simple art tutorial thats both easy to make and cute . You can definitely check my old blogs if you find this one helpful . The goal is to be able to make cute illustrations without worries .
This week im making a wizard frog and here is how .
So first step i made an oval and shaped it with free transform tool like a rounded triangle this is our frog body base.
After this i made two more ovals to make his legs and an oval for the eye i duplicated the layer and flipped it to reflect the other side this automatically adds the same features also this makes the illustration look more symmetrical.
Now i added the hands the nose and mouth also pupils of the eyes our frog already looks cute but its a wizard frog so we must make his Wizard hat too
I made a bent top witch like hat and added a little belt on it also i added. Blush spots to my frog too .
Now as our lineart is ready we added flat colors to our frog now the lineart being black gives it a cartoony look . Next shaded the frog by applying water color wet brush and shading every layer a bit darker and guassian blurred it . This look cool too but lets take it an step further .
So i colored the lineart the same shade as the parts are this gives it more enhanced look . After this i made a background to the back which is like bottom is brown and the sky is purple its like a minimalistic way to add a little blurred background.
I then highlighted the frogs eyes and used my brokeh brush to add glowy brokeh effect and here is the Final result

Loh#147 A vivid Dream that changed me
I get alot of weird dreams Some vivid and some lucid .
What exactly is a vivid dream you may ask well its a dream where it feels like you're really there and everything happening is real while lucid dreams are when you know in a dream that you are in a dream . Both of these dreams can be pleasant and unpleasant too . I mean being aware and feeling a nightmare in reality can give you an intense trauma .
Luckily most of my dreams as related to me being in nature in Solitude . So i had this one dream back in January i was very depressed and lost in those days and i was constantly recalling my purpose and inner peace so one night i sleep and i wake up in sand like i remember it was sand and i was burried in it i got out of it and shook myself coughed too looked at my gown that was dusty and then a sudden breeze came that sent chills down my spine i never had felt this cold it looked like a desert and in the night sky i saw an aurora so bright like a neon curtain of lights dancing in the sky and i sat down on the sand watching it and praying with my hands . I was so grateful and i had so much gratitude for the thing i was experiencing i saw shooting stars too and the sky was all bright with the stars i actually thought i could see the milky way and i stood up and jumped off feeling the breeze and that sense of freedom i was afraid to jump but when i did i landed on the sand it didn't hurt much but the whole dream i ran and played in the sand making sand angels without thinking about the sand being stuck in my hair or clothes i just did all the things that made me happy.
After this dream i tried drawing what i saw as a minimal drawing here it is tbh . After that dream my focus is more on living today then worrying for tomorrows.

Splinterlands art contest week #254 (quix the devious)
This week for my entry i drew the Splinterlands card named Quix the devious the character is like a Reptilian boy that likes juggling knives .
So i drew the sketch first in my style on a paper i made sure to include all the key parts and how the costumes are .
Next what i did is i refined the sketch into a lineart using an drawing app in my phone .
After converting the sketch digitally i started adding flat colors to the illustration the skin was a more Pale dull blue and the costume looked like a medieval thief like Ali baba .
After this i started shading every part with a darker shade with a water color wet brush and guassian blurred it . Next i made sure to shade the golden Accents accurately as the gold should look metalic so that meant i hade to shade and highlight the golden part multiple times not only on the costume but the knife too.
I also added highlights to his eyes and buckles on the shirt. Finally i added gradient to the background and here is the final look .

A week to bloom
So every week i write about the things i did and enjoy each week . Every week i learn new things and experience joy in simple things .
On Monday i watched the. Awaited movie Barbie on my Laptop . It was a great great movie . Margot robbie and her postures were just like a plastic doll the choreography the dress design set design everything was so much like Barbie and then we learn about what Barbie was actually made for and what barbie is perceived as its just alot to learn .
On Tuesday it was stormy again and i went up on my roof and captured this amazing view where my vines acted as a silhouette it was beautiful . The clouds and everything i just love when i can smell rain and breeze .
On Wednesday i finally saw my Paper flowers blooming , Rain does wonders and tbh one thing i learnt is flowers live again after rain and storms and so should you stay strong bloom into a beautiful better you after every Bad day
On Thursday i saw this little jasmine blooming perfectly aligned by three buds .I take this as a message from the Universe that it is with me and that good days are coming ❤️
On Friday i made these Rose quartz and green adventurine rings with wire wrap technique will do a seperate blog for that but they looked super cute
On Saturday i actually got really sick and wasn't able to cook so i ordered a vegan paneer roll with Tamarind sauce and enjoyed that . Rain can make you a bit Sick but being afraid of weather and not experiencing the good side of it makes you Boring and well you just miss our fun things
On Sunday i made Fresh Hot Aloo Samosas for everyone because its rainy season everyone loves a home cooked delicious snack and this was just it.
The lesson i learnt this week is Don't be afraid of storms and hardships its gonna be tough yes but experience it thats what makes you stronger as an individual and keep on working to be a better you .

Privileges we have today that people 30 years ago didn't
My grandfather and i have a generation gap of about 30 years and tbh the way he tells me about the world back then and now i feel so privileged.
My grandpa was telling me the other day how the only source of information and news was a news paper and radio station .
How his room had a big Radio and a casette player for entertainment and movies were seen in the Cinema theaters.
He tells me how he used to go to school on a cycle and he had the time of his life time . People were simple and honest back then .
Now newspaper has been replaced by News channels , cinemas are replaced by netflix and Disney+ , cycles are now replaced by cars and bikes , spotify is the new Casette player.
Technology has changed our life styles and how people live but it also has taken so much culture away . Back when they had limited technology they still had alot of chances to meet and greet and have family time now we live together but hardly ever talk.
Yet i love how travelling is easier now back in the 1980s cars weren't common .
Pros of being in generation are that we have better vehicles and gadgets also better medical facilities .
How ever i still believe people back then were more closer to nature and were more responsible then people today .
What are your thoughts on this ?

Diy Nail Rings
For this project we need
Some flexible thin wire , fake nails I am using transparent ones , some nail polishes or nail stickers to decorate , a transparent top coat and nail glue tape .
I start by measuring the wire on my finger digit and make it into a X , next i tie the wire up from to so this is the base where the nail will be on .
As i take the wire off you can see its like a ring we make 5 rings this way each measured on different fingers , I took the fake transparent nails of the size of my fingers and applied a nano tape glue dot on them and pressed the rings on to them
As you can see this way the
ring easily slides on my nail like a ring and I don't need to care about re applying the glue on them or about my natural nails getting damaged .
Now for the decoration part i actually wanted transparent fairy nails that have flowers so im using these nail stickers i applied them with a damp cloth and applied a top coat on the nail to secure them
And here is how my fairy themed nail rings look like on my hand.
I loved the project because this way im able to reuse the nails and they are easy to take off without the glue hassel .

Drawing A cute Milk carton
So i have seen alot of stickers and illustrations that are about milk cartons and bottles so here is a simple way you can digitally make one .
I might make a simple tutorial about glass illustrations but i think that is a more advanced type of tutorial so for the weekly beginner art lesson i m gonna keep it very simple .
The app im using is called Medibang paint pro.
First of all i drew a rectangle and then i reshaped that rectangle with free transform tool into a parallelogram.
Next i duplicated that parallelogram 3 times and aligned them like you can see in the picture.
After that i drew some lines to align each corner and u already can see the box shape.
Erased the extra lines and made a top triangular ( so you can see the box in the 5th frame looks like its see through well in glass illustration we keep it that way and color but because we are doing a simple milk carton so i will erase the parts that i won't see through )
So we erase the extra parts and here is the simplified milk shake box i made some wavy design into it and made stars and mango on it because thats the flavor im painting thats our Lineart quite complete right there .
So after the lineart i added a text on the box for this i used free transform tool and made the text fit the box perspectively .
For the coloring part i chose a bright yellow and some shades of pale yellow . Made a pallete and filled the illustration with those
Now the black outline of the lineart looks great as an cartoon but what i personally prefer is coloring the lineart too and here is colored the lineart too. Next i colored the leaves with a more saturated warm green. And the text was colored with a pale yellow
Now i can just save this as an sticker by saving it in png transparent but i added a background to it to make a whole illustration stand out.
I selected a complimentary color to yellow and added that as a background . Made a black box shadow and made it perspectively like a shadow thats being casted by the light coming from behind the box added some color and highlights to the mangos eyes and there is our final result
So the illustrations don't always have to be realistic or originally created ideas u can pretty much draw your favorite drink as a sticker too practice is all we need .

LOH # 146 The Last time i had Fun time outside
The last time i ever went out and had fun isn't when i went to party alot . I don't like crowds and noisy places .
I am an introvert and for me fun is when im alone in my home watching anime and practicing art . But the last time i had fun outside was when went to buy new planters with my cousins and my brother .
So i love Gardening and Flowers make me happy . So i spent alot of time seeing and looking for seeds to plant , i have a kitchen Garden and i always plant new seeds for the upcoming season also it was a great weather to plant some mint and cilantro . i also wanted to buy some succulents and seasonal flowers and carnations .
I bought two rose plants and some carnations.
After buying and keeping every plant in back of the car me and my brother went to the near by restaurant Sindhri had a nice cup of tea there .
I was just super happy to install the plants and gardening inspires me to be closer to nature and i have a home with no actual planting space so i have a roof top garden full of planters and organic growing veggies .
It was a great day that ended with eating Briyani that all us cousins shared in last and i had a great great time .
Most people define fun time when they party for me its when im most at peace and near to nature

Splinterlands art contest week #253 (Gargoya scrapper)
So this week i tried drawing a different character and this time i drew Gargoya Scrapper Card . Now the character looks like a mix of pig and gargoyle with sharp teeth and big horns and his eyes have lightning bolts coming out so lets draw
So i always do an sketch first seeing some gargoyle and bat references and i drew this gargoyle figure thats Muscular yet frightening .
After that i converted it into a lineart digitally using Medibang paint pro app.
Now for the coloring the card im drawing has very dark purple grey skin like a bat and i just started filling flat colors and then shading everything this took hours shading a muscular body takes time . For the horn i used a paler yellow tone and gaussian blurred the harsh lines . Painted the eyes blue
Next i colored the Clothing thats loosely laying on his knee and made sure it looks like a real wrinkled clothe
After that i added a purple Gradient Background for the lightening bolts i made them bright sky blue and duplicated the layer and guassian blurred it this gives it a glowy effect .
Next i colored the lineart of everything so it looks blended in the environment . In end i realized there is a spot in his legs that seems like half of the leg is missing so i shaded and painted that
Added a few highlights to the clothing and face and there you have it. This is the final look .
