Weighing advices Hello my beautiful friends and readers , trust you all had an amazing Tuesday. **THANK** **YOU** I remember some two years ago, I boarded a public transport on my way back home from the market. There were already two women who entered the bus before I did. A older woman and a younger lady who wouldn't be four or five years older than me. I took a brief glance at them and I instantly knew they were mother and daughter. I greeted them and took a seat in front of them. They were obviously engrossed in their conversation anks they took little notice of me. They were interacting freely in a different African language and were completely oblivious that I understood the language too. The woman was advicing her daughter : "Any man that comes to you for a relationship or seek your hand out in marriage, make sure you first of all, ***weigh*** him very well before you accept him". Now from what I understand of that language, the woman was literally telling her to to consider the financial status of a man first, before she agrees to befriend him. I wasn't surprised in the least. In my part of the world, I have heard and seen women giving each other worse advices. I dont know weather a father will give his daughter such an advice . No doubt, the mother was "that kind of woman". The yoing Lady's life might be in total disarray in the near future if she strictly adheres to her mother's advice on marrying a man who have nothing to offer except money. An Islamic scholar once said: " *As* *a* *man*, *the* *best* *gift* *you* *could* *ever* *give* *to* *your* *unborn* *daughters* *is* *to* *marry* a *virtuous* *woman*, *whether* *beautiful* *or* *not*". "A *woman* *will* *always* *listen to* *the* *advice* *of* *her* *mother* *rather* *than* *that* *of* *her* *father*. *Your* *daughters* *would* *always* *follow* *in* *their* *mother's* *footsteps* *both* *in* *your* *presence* *and* *in* *your* *absence* . *Even* *a* *man* *can* *be* *easily* *influenced* *by* ***his*** *mother* *or* *wife*" I pondered on this for a while as I looked around me, I found that this words were not far from the truth. Women are generally influenced by the women around them including the ones they see on their screens . A woman might listen to the advice of her father or husband but at the end, she would follow the advice of a friend or sister. Generally speaking, it is important that we sit down and think things on our own and think them through. Weigh all the advice's that you get and come up with the best one. Sometimes, we hear an advice from someone we think we could trust, then we hear that same advice from another reliable person and before long, multiple individuals begin to re-echo that particular advice. Then you invariably, come to a conclusion that "this is the best advice for me", especially when they are coming from the people you trust like a parent, partner, sibling, friend or colleague. Then, you become quite sure that things will never be a mistake while applying such advice. Instead of going with popular opinion immediately, why not try to assess things on your own with your God- given brains. After all, you are the one in the shoes and you alone know how it really feels and how it shall feel like in the near future. When one always follow the minds of others instead of one's own, at the end, one might become unfulfilled. Things might even get complicated in the future. When this happens, one wouldn't remember who to blame, but oneself. Aside that, the people who had urged one to tow that particular path might find an excuse to save face and would even claim that one forgot a very important piece of information in their advice, and thats why it failed. Lol. Funny enough, such persons would still come around to advice one on a new decision all over again, and the cycle continues. One begins to wonder how someone could claim to know all about how others should live their lives but fail to apply such "valuable advice " to better their own lives. I have also observed that a lot of young enterprenuers and ambitious folks cling to the words of thier idols and use them in assessing their every step, decisions and thought processes in life. Indeed, its recommended and advisable for young people to have an exemplar in their chosen field and adhere to the principles of success of this path. But I have also observed that a lot of successful enterprenuers, captains of industries and entertainment icons had always had a secret recipe which they never reveal to the public. They'd hammer on hardwork, determination, discipline, focus...... but would still hold in on the most important ingredient that worked most for them As we grow older, I believe we should listen more to our own minds and trust our instincts while shutting our ears and hearts to outside noises. Listening and understanding your being is a valuable sskill that can make you rich, not only in wealth, but also in body amd soul. ********************************** Thank you for staying with me. Yours lovely, Bilqees.
Don't forget to please yourself People will always see you the way you see yourself. People will respect you in accordance to how you respect your respect. I know the topic of my article is quite a very popular topic that we all are very much familiar with. @Olasquare have talked about it extensively in one of his writeup. @Eylz2021 also emphasized on this in a very recent article of hers. **THANK** **YOU**, **SPONSORS** Well, I would also like to give a piece of my mind on this topic based on a recent occurrence I heard a few days ago. Its quite sad that a lot of people have subconsciously programmed their lives to what people would think and say about every step they take and every thing they say. There comes a time when one just have to drop the "people pleaser" label if it doesnt benefit one and wouldn't benefit one in the long run and assume a more assertive approach that would propel one to further towards his personal goals. Of course generosity and altruism is what makes us humans and we all should strive to positively try to touch the lives of other around us. Truth is, one can never assist the people around him as much as one would like if one have not fulfilled the duty and obligations one owes himself. Earlier in the day, i was discussing with an old classmate of mine on social media. The young man had plans of leaving the country to a neighboring African country in search of greener pastures but he was finding it difficult to make up his mind. He was actually in a dilemma, as the first son, he was afraid to leave his younger siblings back in our country all by themselves. By the way, I know his siblings very well too, and believe me, they are not that young and tender as you would think. "Why don't you teach your younger brothers how to grind too, then go chase your dreams". I said to him. There are some" once in a life time" opportunity that when missed can never be gotten again for the rest of your live . But family will always be there for you. Even though you are gone for thirty years, when you have made enough money, you can always come back to help them and they wouldn't deny you. Family will always be family, but an opportunity lost may never come back. But unfortunately ,this young man had already gotten used to shouldering the family's responsibilities alone, and he was afraid to take a step to better his own life and future. It was not as if he had a lucrative job already, hewas only a private school teacher. Psycologically speaking,When one always try to please everyone, their minds would be conditioned in believing that that it is your duty to always be subservient towards them. And anytime you default albeit unintentionally, you would be greeted with alot hostility and all your previous greater generosity would be quickly forgotten. Its Human nature, you know. Such was the dilemma of this young man and I felt sorry for him. Sometimes, one might think that his friend, sibling, spouse, child, parent or colleague can't do without him and this is totally false. one might go the extra mile, displease one self so that others would be pleased with him . one could even cause oneself great discomfort so that others could get ahead while one remain at a spot. By the time one finally decide to take a step after everyone have been settled, one might be surprised that those that leveraged on his generosity to get ahead might not be as eager to hold a ladder up for one to climb also. Especially when giving one a hand might cause them some discomfort. Others might outrightly deny or betray one. We have all heard heart-rending stories where a friend or brother sacrificed all for the other person who would later pay him back with treachery and arrogance. CLOSING THOUGHTS. Never think of yourself indispensable to others. If you are not there to help, someone else will. Death might even come to you at anytime and you'd be surprised if God showed you how well the persons you left behind are getting along just fine in your absence. You'd be forgotten in a short while. "You deserve your own love and attention more than anyone else". *******************************Yours lovely Bilqees 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Destroying Castles Hello every one, hope you all had a lovely and happy Sunday. Yesterday, I was going through and article by @Princessbusayo titled " Saturday sparks",where I came across a quote which really made alot of sense and gave me an idea of what my next article should be. She said and I quote; " Be happy for others when they are doing great, because your own time will definitely would definitely come and you would be congratulated too". When we were kids, during playtime at school or at home,we often play on sand dunes that has been set aside for some building construction . Well, we had a lot of fun playing with sand as kid as we would jump here and there and scream at the tip of our voices with hairs filled with sand particles. Our mothers would always have a tough time bathing us or washing our clothes, Lol. Sometimes, the artistic children would engage in building beautiful castles on the fine and moist sand using their feet, empty cans and bottles as the perfect mould. Looking back, I wondered whether biulding such castles was among the factors that influenced to a larger extend the creative genius of a lot of young adults today. Out of envy and jealousy , a kid might come around from the side and stomp on a more beautiful castle of another child and destroy it. A fight might ensue between the two children and one could get hurt on the sands. As I grew older. I tend to relate this childhood experience to everyday life. How many tines have we all witness beautiful friendship and relationship burnt down to the ground as a result of explosive anger , jealousy, insensitivity and thoughtlessness. Sometimes, some of the people we have around us, people who we take as friends and relatives do not actually want the best for us. They discreetly try to pull you down when you are obviously a step or two ahead of them . Trying to destroy the hard work and reputation of an individual who never saw you them as an enemy, to me is about the eighth wonder of the world and should be classified as the eighth deadly sin. The time and energy spent in engaging in such vile and comtemptible actions, if channelled into their own personal development will definitely be more gratifying and rewarding both in the long and short term. As humans, we have come to live for each other and we should always love the good that has happened to our neighbor. Who knows, ours could happen the next minute. I know there are some folks out there that find it hard to resist the temptation of ruining another person's joy. But its also important to bear in mind that, destroying someone else's castle (business, marriage, relationship etc) will never raise your own castle neither would it make it stronger. In most cases, one fails disgracefully in such an evil attempt and the whole world gets to know the kind of person he/she is. The castle that he/she tried to pull down tends to continue grow stronger and more beautiful every other day. And the owner of the castle will always be mentioned as a shining star to others . The malicious and bitter fellow would be the loser at last and no one would want to cooperate with such persons in building their own castles since they have already been known as poisoners of good will. ******************************* Thank you so much for taking your time to read, Yours lovely Bilqees 💗💗💗💗💗💗
Murder of a little angel A day before yesterday, a very unfortunate incident happened in my city just three streets away from my residence. The whole community was thrown into sorrow and mourning as a result of the murder of a five year old girl. Parents are always of the opinion that that apart from being a center of learning, the school is also a safe haven for thier wards and they considered the teachers as the second parent of their kids . It came as a very devastating news to the whole city when we heard that a little pupil of five years old was killed and butchered in cold blood by her the own teacher who was also the proprietor of the school. See full story here: https://www.nairaland.com/6948802/hanifar-abubakar-abducted-killed-school#109546449 According to the story, the teacher was well known to the parents and volunteered to go pick her up from the Arabic school after she had left his school ( secular school) in the evening when it was time for closing. He kidnapped her and took her straight to his house. There, he told his wife that the little girl was the child of a female colleague of his, who was not in town but entrusted the daughter in his care and she spent five days at his house. The parents of the girl, already distraught when they couldn't find their daughter alerted the authorities after all efforts to find their daughter failed. Investigation began in full swing and a witness at the Arabic school confirmed that she heard the girl said something about her "uncle" had come to pick her up before she disappeared. Now ,"uncle" is a popular name that children in my country used in addressing a male teacher. On geting wind of this information, the school teacher decided to move her out of his home as he was quite sure that the Searchlight would be turned towards him. He decided to taking the little girl out of the city but he thought that the major roads leading in and out of the city would be under survelliance. By the way, he had already phoned the parents of the girl with an anonymous number and demanded a ransome of $14,000 to be paid. They had bargained and a sum of 240 dollars was paid initially, Pending her released. Since he was scared to take her out to another location and he also could not continue to keep her in the house. Out of desperation, he took her to the school premises at night where he murdered her in cold blood, butchered her to bits then proceeded in dumping her body in the earth. He was later arrested as he was on his way to receive the second payment not the Ransome. When he was asked why he did it, he explained that he was facing a lot of financial challenges. Being the proprietor of the school, he hadn't paid his staff salaries, he also hadn't paid his rent. And as his school was not generating enough revenue due to low student population, he decided to kidnap this little girl for ransome as he believed that her parents were rich. One begin to wonder, among all the numerous ways of making money both online and offline, how could a man, a well educated man for that matter imagine kidnapping and killing a little child who saw him as a father as a way of making money. How can the heart of some men be so evil? What's more painful is that the little girl was the only child of her parents while her murderer already had three daughters amd one of them was about her age. How was he able to bring himself to kill and mutilate the body of an innocent child that could have been his own daughter?! This particular man was more than a classroom teacher to this girl, he was considered a family friend to her parents too and the little girl was very fond of him. It was said that he arrived at the girl's residence to offer his sympathy when he had kidnapped her, he was also full of emotions in order to douse suspiscion. I'm just speechless right now..... I mean, who could you trust these days. As it is now, there hace been a huge outcry from the public and the local media. The governor and the president are under pressure to sign the death warrant of this evil man. This is about the most saddest incident that has happened in our city this year. ******************************* THANK YOU
Striking resemblance when I was younger,I have always been fascinated at the sight of identical twins. As years passed and I grew older, my amazement towards them seemed to diminish. Afterall, both were formed from thesame cell, both shared the same womb and came to the world at the same time, and this was almost enough to explain their likeness. Nevertheless, They are God's miracle. I became more fascinated at the striking resemblance between two individuals who shared less in common. Ever saw a staggering resemblance between father and son? Mother and daughter? or two unrelated persons? ..... Thats what I am talking about here. **Meet** **my** **lovely** According to basic biology, hundreds of millions of genes which are responsible for traits and characters are transmitted from parents to their offsprings during meiosis. Hence, a child gets a copy of identical information from both parents which would be be genetically and phenotypically expressed in that child. Usually, a child takes a fifty-fifty percent contribution from the two parents. But some times, a child might inherit over eighty percent of his characteristics from a single parent which will definitely lead to a child looking more like one parent than the other. I have heard cases where a man might deny being responsible for a pregnancy and in such a case, a DNA test might be performed on the child as soon as he's born in order clear the air. Sometimes, there would be absolutely no need for a DNA test if the child bears an astounding resemblance to the man in question. Lol. There's this popular music artist in my country who had fathered seven children for three different women and its nothing short of a miracle that all his kids are splitting images of him. As a matter of fact, you would think he gave birth to all of them himself without the assistance of a female. Lol. In some cases, a child might not look like his father or mother, but a relative in the family which is perfectly normal, since such occurrence is still within the gene pool of the family. I have seen a lot of cousins who look alike that you would think they were actually siblings. Some children might take the look of a maternal uncle or a grandparent. As a matter of fact, the resemblance between a cousin of mine and my late grand mom is really frightening that it makes one to believe in reincarnation even though you don't want to. As it is popularly said, "Like father like son". Like mother like daughter" . Sometimes it could be "Like father like daughter".there are cases where a girl would bear so much resemblance to her dad. I have seen a young lady who was a splitting image of her dad. They had exactly . The dad was a beardless man and when they stand together, you might think that a binary fission had just taken place. They also share the same walking posture, height and shoulders. I guess the only difference between them is the "Man and woman difference". Lol We have seen some folks around and in social media that share strong resemblance with a popular celeb. An old man once said, if we could search the whole world, we would definitely find someone that looks just like us and I have always wondered how true this statement was. It must have happened to you one time or the other in the past, where a total stranger would just walk up to you , and start relating and talking to you in a very familiar manner, and as soon as they realize that you were not actually a known person but bears a very similar look to some one they know, they would apologize for the mix up albeit embarrassed. I have had a similar experience twice in the past. There was this middle aged lady that sells foodstuffs in the market who claims I look so much like her aunt. Well, I really don't know wether she meant it or she was just trying to hook a customer. Well, we became very friendly and she would always reduce the prices of whatever item I bought from her. Sometimes, she would even gift me an item of a much lower price after I had paid for the things I bought. This made me quite uncomfortable and I had to stop passing through that particular street in the market. Of course I was very grateful for her generosity but I couldn't just get used to it. No doubt, one can enjoy alot of unexpected benefits and favour when you meet some one in authority or power who believes that you share physical similarities to some one special to them. you could always leverage on this opportunity to better yourself. In few cases, it might become a source of misfortune if one happens to share resemblance with a lawbreaker or a crook. A victim might mistake you for the criminal and things might get really messy. What about you dear friend, have you ever been told you share a strong resemblance with someone you didn't know? ******************************* Thank you so much for taking your time to read. Loving a sickler Sickle cell anaemia is a blood disease that is prevalent in Africa especially sub-Saharan Africa and some parts of Asia. This is because an allelic gene ( S) that is responsible its occurrence is surprisingly resistant to the malaria parasite which is a common ailment in the continent. It is an hereditary disease that can be transferred from carrier parents. When both parents are carriers, (each possessing an AS genotype), then either one or more of their offsprings would be born with this genetic condition as the child would end up with a double S (SS) Sickle cell anaemia is caused by spontaneous changes ( mutation) in the genetic materials that is responsible for the formation of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the oxygen carrying pigment of the red blood cells of our body. Hence its sufferers( who are also known as sicklers) have a smaller and unusual shape of hemoglobin. A defective or sickle-shaped hemoglobin will mean that the blood cannot efficiently transport oxygen to its body cells which is very vital for life. Sometimes, the defective hemoglobin tends to make the red blood cells cram up in the blood vessels , thereby leading to a blockade. This could be very detrimental to the sufferer. The life of a sickle cell patient is really arduous and they suffer a lot of health challenges during their usual brief life life on earth. As a result of hampered blood flow and reduced oxygen supply, they always complain of excruciating pains in their chest and joints especially at the long bones of the thigh and arms. The crisis gets really bad especially during the cold and they might become bedridden for days. In worse cases, the pains could cause a permanent limp in their movement. This happens when some bones cells begin to deteriorate as a result of being deprived of oxygen and nutrients for a long time. I have seen quite a number of sickle cell patients and it amazes me that most of them are not without a special gift or talent. Some of them could be very good at football, others could have a great voice for music. I have heard of of a late sickle cell patient who was a "mathematics wizard" and he could solve complex maths problems even when in pains. Its very heartbreaking that most of them don't live long enough and fulfill their potentials on earth. Although, there are a few sicklers who look very healthy and full of life that you begin to doubt if they are actually have the condition. This category of sicklers have an in depth knowledge and awareness of their body and what could cause a crisis and they try to avoid them as much as possible. It is important for sickle cell patients to maintain a healthy diet with a lot of fruits and vegetables. It is also advisable for them to perform soft exercises, never skip their medication, and avoid vigorous activities and exertions. There was a young lady in my school who was a sickle cell patient. She spent almost seven years in the university for a course that was just four years. This was because she would always fall ill close to examination period or even before a major test due to her health condition. As a result, her academics suffered. What was more painful is that she was very brilliant but couldn't afford to spend long hours studying since she was not as strong a s other young people. She would always end up in a sick bed at home or at the hospital anytime she tries to overstretch her study time . The disease also affected the retina which was responsible for image formation in the eyes. Due to lack of adequate supply of oxygen and nutrients in the blood capillaries surrounding the retina, it began to deteriorate and this hindered her vision even though she used glasses. Even though they might have loving, caring and sympathetic people around them, most sickle cell patients hardly gets into a serious relationship. A lot of people are afraid to date them because they are fragile both in body and in heart. A sickle cell patient might find it extremely difficult to cope with an heartbreak or a betrayal and this might result to an episode of dangerous health crisis. The partner responsible would definitely be blamed if anything happens to him/her. Of course, they might eventually find true love which would lead to marriage. Expectant mothers who are also sickle cell patients are advised to adhere to expert medical attention throughout the nine months as their pregnancy could pose a serious risk to both their lives and the life of the baby during parturition. May God continue to be with and strengthen all these lovely souls out there. ******************************* To all my sponsors, subscribers, readers, commenters, upvoters, I say a very big THANK. A Look into my gallery.. Sorry I'm late. So, after much hesitation and deliberation, I finally decided to join the latest prompt that had gone viral on our darling platform. It was hosted by sis @meitanteikudo during the weekend. Funny enough, I never thought I would join in as I thought that the challenge is a thing more for the profilic and old users who were on top of the heirrachy, so I disqualified myself immediately. Three days ago, we saw the amazing gallery of @Lucifer01 . big sis @Theblackdoll did hers too and it was really beautiful and inspirational, she tagged me along to join in the fun. I was nervous at first, but unfortunately or fortunately for me, I promised her I would participate too. @Theblackdoll was actually my first sponsor and among the first users to welcome me . I love and respected her for that and I found it quite difficult to turn her down . I also saw that of another amazing big sisters @Ling01 , @Garrethgrey07 and a wonderful friend too @Aimure , then I braved out too. **MOST** **RECENT** **PHOTO** I took this photo on Saturday after I had completed my laundry. I was so spent and exhausted but I had to go out to see a friend who called me to inform me she just returned from a trip. I just had to go as she promised that she had something for me and she expected to come as soon as possible else she would give it to someone else. Lol. **FUNNIEST** **PHOTO** This is a photo of me and my cousin who is also my bestie. She is my better half and we make each other complete. she's much more intelligent and wiser. As a matter of fact, she have the brains and heart of a man. This young lady in black keeps on motivating me like a military man. In this photo, we were suppose to be all dressed up for a wedding ceremony but we decided not to. We were waiting for another cousin to come pick us up with his car. We waited for hours but he never came and his lines remained switch off. So we decided not to go again and fool around in our room. **WORST** **PHOTO** The circumstances surrounding the photo is why I would cal it my worst. A friend's mother had died two days ago before the photo was taken. She was just like a mother to me as I have known her all my life . Her and my mom shared thesame shed in the market, and she even had a nickname for me and she would call me by that name anytime I greeted her. I was really depressed and couldn't find the strength to eat or sleep properly. My cousin was doing her best to cheer me up and she finally got me to smile while she took the shot. **MOST** **EMBARRASSING** The picture was taken sometime last year at a eatery, I was actually going through the news of a going girl who had been murdered in cold blood when she went out in search of a job. She was actually the first child of her parents. I felt very sad and was moved to tears. Unknowingly, my cousin had already taken a shot and posted the pic in a WhatsApp group that both of us belonged to where she asked the members of the group to help caption the photo. Some gave very silly and annoying captions and. I felt really embarrassed. A **PLACE** **YOU** **HAVE** **BEEN** **AND** **WOULD** **LOVE** **TO** **GO** **AGAIN** Well, I have never had the opportunity of exploring other parts of the world, or any other city. So, i have never been to a beach or a resort. Still under my parent's constant watch and stare, Lol. Well, Me and my sister and a cousin got to visit a very popular garden on new year's day alongside the kids. We had fun and enjoyed our selves. But that silly boy in white strayed away and went to have his own fun. We became apprehensive and afraid as we kept searching for him for more than an hour. When we finally found him, I made sure I knock some senses into his thick skull and he cried till we got back home. I swore never to take him out again. **GROUPIE** **OR** **SELFIE** Well, this is a photo of me and some of my friends, we had decided to hang out at a café together. One of us would be traveling and would be away for a long time so we were celebrating out time together. **FOOD** **YOU** **WOULD** **LIKE** **TO** **EAT** **AGAIN** This is rice and carrots, Irish potatoes, green pepper. no meat, no fish. All green. and tasty nutritious . As a matter of fact I will go down on it in the evening. **BEST** **PHOTO** I think this is my best photo yet, I was alone in the house that day. Our results were just out, and I performed very well. Even though I was ill at some point during the exam period, and thought that the results would be embarrassing. I really felt proud and happy with my self and decided to capture the the moment. Well, I think thats about as much as I can give. Thanks a lot of amazing friends here, who constantly motivates Mr and bring out the best in me. I feel more confident everyday just by interacting with you all amd I kept growing in mind and in spirit ever since I joined this beautiful platform and met beautiful people. THANK. Doctor's clinic Good day people. Hope you all had a wonderful day. Well,I have been so busy through out that I had almost forgot that I had to write something for the day. I hope this is worth reading because I just have to put my thoughts together quickly and write randomly. I have never written a random article since I joined read cash. Pls bare with me if you wouldn't find this one interesting. I remember some years ago. My elder brother had to undergo a minor operation. He actually had hernia which had been made him quite uncomfortable sometimes. Along with my parents, they visited a general hospital and the doctor that examined the hernia marked him for surgery the following week. He gave my parent an address of a different hospital at a much different location from the one he worked. I was quite surprised when I learned that the surgery was going to hold at a different hospital and I asked dad the reason for this. Was it that the first hospital was already filled up with admitted patients and there was no more bed space? I wouldn't believe this, because it was a very big general hospital. Dad revealed to me that a lot of top doctors working in government-owned hospitals were engaged in private practice as they also have their own private clinic somewhere else. As I grew up, I discovered that this was very common among a lot of doctors. As a matter of fact, even the doctors that don't have a private clinic yet were shuttling between two or three hospitals, in order to earn extra cash . I wonder how they manage to cope with the stress though. I also wondered wether this trend is only peculiar to the doctors in my country or its a general habits of doctors all over the world. I later came to the realization that doctors in my country were underpaid compared to the salaries earned by their counterparts in the western world. Its no news that the resident doctors association had on multiple times threaten to embark on strike due to the inability of the government to upgrade their salaries, improve their working conditions as well as upgrading and providing adequate funding for medical facilities. Unlike other employers who out of fear of sabotage and negligence of duty, kick against employees setting up private ventures. Most hospital managements are comfortable with their doctors establishing private clinic. After all doctors can't be sacked and replaced as easily as individuals from other workforce. And by the way, the Doctor-to-patient ratio is very large, especially in developing countries. So, we need all the doctors we can have, even though it means jumping from one hospital to another in order to save lives. It is also observable that a lot of folks who lived comfortably or are doing well financially, prefer to seek the services of a private clinics than public hospitals. This is because the doctors and nurses in a private clinic are more friendly and more efficient than in a public hospital. You also get to enjoy a lot of attention from them as the patients needs are being responded to promptly. Unlike in a public hospital where the queue can be very long and frustrating, and a patient could spend hours waiting for a doctor to attend to him or her. No need to mention that the services of a private clinic are more expensive than that of a public hospital. Some public hospitals even provide free health care services especially to infants, pregnant women and the aged. Nevertheless, some folks who could afford it would still patronise private clinics since they deliver a more quality treatment and care. As as a person, your health and family's health should be foremost and nothing is too much to pay in exchange for a good health. As a matter of fact,I have seen a doctor who abandoned his patients on queue at the public hospital and hurried off to attend to an emergency call at his private clinic. Maybe one day, when a doctor realise that the stress level is too high and might even take a toll on his own health, he'd come to a decision to resign from the government and focus solely on private practice especially when he is been overworked at the public hospital and underpaid. The doctor might hike the fees of his services at his clinic since it is now his only source of income. There's this clinic around my area owned by a middle aged doctor. I was told that almost all the childbirth delivery in this clinic was through surgery. Even though a lot of delivery wouldn't require a caesarean section, the doctor would insist that it has to be done just so that the patient would pay him more for surgery. There was a time that a woman in labor visited the clinic and the doctor said that the pregnancy was a " high risk pregnancy" and there was no way the woman could give birth safely except through an operation. He urged the lady's husband to make a transfer of two hundred thousand naira ( over 600 dollars) so that he can commence the surgery immediately. The lady's husband was quite poor and didn't have such an amount. The pregnant woman never paid any attention to the doctor and she continued to push steadily as she lay sweating on the bed. Few minutes after, a healthy baby was delivered. The father of the child was so happy he shed tears of joy while the doctor walked away disappointed. *******************************To all my readers, subscribers, commenters, upvoters and sponsors. Never be under pressure to reveal your srcrets well first, I think some people don't know that some important things about them should be kept as a secret. Although, what is considered as a secret might vary from individual to individual. A lot of folks out there are free with everyone they meet out there, and they never hesitate to talk tell almost everyone about their lives, relationship, careers, plans, fears and regrets. I had this particular coursemate who revealed to me how much she hated her dad because she had witness several times how he had physically abused her mom and blatanlty cheated on her. I really felt sorry for her anyway, but I saw no reason while she should be revealing such personal family issues freely to an outsider. It was not as if we were that close, maybe she saw me as someone she could trust and of course I appreciated that. But what made me more surprised and angry is when I discovered that she had also told other girls about it and I thought how unwise she was. Anything could happen tomorrow were she might have a problem with any of these girls . Her deadbeat father could be mentioned in the quarrel and then she would get the embarrassment of her life. By the way, women are naturally gossipy in nature and what you reveal about yourself today might be used against you even in your absence. Now why would she tell anybody that sensitive aspect of her life? Is not as if the person can do anything to reverse what has already happened, neither will he or she start feeling the misery and agony that she has been passing through all this while. Its still her own cross and you would continue to bear it alone. Others care less. Ofcourse, I know that some people have beautiful hearts and are very free with other people that they have known for sometime and even people they had just met. But it is also important for one to know that there are quite alot of wolves in sheep clothing out there who pretend as if they care. As soon as they have got you to reveal too many details about yourself, you would be wrapped round their fingers for good and be manipulated at will. After getting to know their hypocritical nature, you become very timid around them and it would be too late to cut ties with such people since they already know too much about you. It means you would be at their mercy for a long time and wouldn't be able to confront him/her whenever they do something wrong to you else they would blackmail you and tell others about your secrets. I have seen this happen several times. As soon as a person gets to know quite alot about what has happened in your life, he or she will no longer value and respect you as before. people tend to honor and love the person who doesn't talk much. Since they cant read you like the majority, you become sort of an unravelled mystery to them and believe me, this rare quality makes you a magnet of attraction to others. Even when you are in a relationship, it is not advisable to tell the other person everything about you. Telling him/her about your exes or your weakness and insecurity would indirectly expose your vulnerability to them, and just maybe you wouldn't be as interesting to that person again after you have shared all your secrets with them. Unless Ofcourse, if the both of you are planning to get married, then there wouldn't be any more secrets between you both. Never be eager to keep a conversation going by revealing too much to a person or friend about yourself. Just to past time, You could always talk about other stuffs even though they are boring topics for discussion. Always keep the discussion on an impersonal plane. Never try to impress people with excessive words else you might end up accomplishing the opposite." Its better to keep my mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and clear all doubts" Thank you all so much for taking your time to read and I wish you all a beautiful week ahead 💗 *******************************

A thief in the church Hello everyone. Hope y'all are having a beautiful Sunday. I was just listening to my favorite program on radio by anchored by my favorite on-air personality when I heard a very shocking and unpleasant story. The phone and purse of a new member of an unnamed church was stolen during Sunday service. It happened that there was a project that the management of the church wanted to execute in the community but they had been short of funds. So, they appealed to the members to help the church accomplish this good work through donations. This new member of the church wanted make to make a good first impression and came forward to put a certain sum of money in the offering box alongside other members of the church. By the time he had returned to his seat, he discovered that his phone and wallet which he had put inside his bible on his seat were gone. This was rather unbelievable and he immediately alerted the pastor about what has happened. The young man became depressed as he had very important contacts in his phone that he couldn't afford to lose. He also had a number of valuable digital assets and investments which would be gone forever if he lost his phone No need to mention that the presiding pastor was really embarrassed by the theft of the property of a new member. He literally knelt down in front of the congregation and pleaded that whoever had stolen the wallet and phone should please return it even if it means bringing them back after the service so that other members wouldnt know. But still no one said anything. The pastor burst into tears and even promise to offer his own phone and money to the thief if he would return the property of the new member. Other church members who felt very sorry for the pastor and the young man also offfered very interesting proposals to the unknown thief but still the thief refused to reveal himself or drop the property at a discreet part of the church that was mentioned. It was really a sad day for the congregation. Stealing in the house of the lord is nothing but an abomination which is capable of provoking God's anger, not only on the thief but on his family and lineage. I am very sure that the money in the wallet wouldn't last the thief for more than three days. The phone might also be haggled at a give away price by thief and the money realized still wouldn't take long before it is also spent. But God's anger would be with him for the rest of his days. Of course the thief might think himself smart but he never knows that his punishment is only been delayed. I have always known that a lot of folks go to the church for various reasons rather than worship: some people go to church for exhibition such as flaunting a new dress or hairstyle(for the ladies) ,or showing off an expensive phone, perfume or a new car and other items that might make them the center of attraction in a place of worship. I wouldn't blame them though, its in the inherent nature of man to want to feel superior than the next person, even in the house of God. Some even go to the church with the aim of searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend and I don't see anything wrong with that either. Afterall, I believe that the house of God is about the best place to get a life partner. What I find rather inconceivable is stealing in the church and I would categorise this worse than a sin, it is an **atrocity.** Whenever I am in the presence of God, I find it hard to even notice how good looking or how beautifully dressed the next person looks as all my attention would be fixed at the man on the pulpit while he spreads the word of God . I guess alot of individuals also feel the same way too in the house of salvation. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous persons would exploit this to their advantage and pinch off the items of the worshippers. And how easy it is for them to do so since they know that their victims would feel very calm and secured in the house of God both physically and spiritually and wouldn't be as careful with their stuffs in other places. As matter of fact, stealing in the church while service is going has become very common in alot of churches in my country and its quite sad that worshippers no longer feel safe in the house of salvation. A thief might find stealing in the church very convenient too when he realises that God would always forgive him and might even pray for forgiveness before leaving the church. Lol, don't be surprised, its very possible, after all, Christ said " father, please forgive them, they don't know what they are doing". And believe me, this is a very popular bible verse that alot of evil doers know about. As a matter of fact, I have heard stories of robbers who go to church to pray for success before embarking on an operation. Some even return to the church to give thanks to God for protecting them throughout the mission. Its quite crazy I know, but it is what is . ******************************* Thank you so much for taking your time to read. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗👇

Hating saturdays Hello lovely people, hope yiu all are enjoying a beautiful and spendid saturday. Well, during my childhood, I have never been excited about Saturdays. As a matter of fact, I feel quite depressed before going to bed on a Friday night. Saturdays are the days specially set aside for general cleaning around our houses. This is a good thing to do once in a while no doubt, but it could really be tiresome especially when the workload turn out to be more than expected. As early as 8: am, mom would storm into our rooms and wake us with her shrill voice . Sometimes, when me and my elder sister might still pretend to be asleep. The next thing we would feel is some cold water on your face This alone would make you jump up and sit upright immediately and the water in your ears might cause you great discomfort for the rest of the day. So, the wise thing to do is to try to summon all the strength and wake up as soon as you hear Mama's voice. There was a time mom sent an older cousin to go wake me up, and without even calling me out first, this girl emptied a jug of water on my face. I was so furious and if not for mom that stepped in, I would have harvested her two front teeth! We don't usually get to eat our breakfast early on Saturdays, I think this is very common among alot of households in my country. We would commence the washing of all the clothes in the house as soon as its 9:am, sometimes earlier. The clothes of our younger siblings are always the most dirtiest, merely looking at them alone is enough is kill your spirit and drain every energy in your veins. My daddy's clothes are the easiest to wash because they are always not as dirty as the other clothes and sometimes me and my sister would fight over who would wash daddy's clothes while deliberately ignoring and even stepping on the clothes of the younger children. Sometimes, mom would sit ouside while we wash. She keeps herself busy cutting vegetables , separating little pebbles from the rice before cooking. Every now and then, she would look up from her work and bark an order , telling us to repeat the washing of a particular shirt or trouser of a younger sibling again after it has been transferred to a rinsing water. Mom would say " bilkisu, you call this washed? does that shirt looks clean in your eyes?" Mom always insisted that we wash each clothe twice in seperate nuckets before rinsing. According to her, that was the best way of washing clothes and that's how she was taught by grandma. This was really frustrating for me and I would curse and scream at that particular sibling for playing too rough and getting his clothes all dirty . "At your age, you don't know how to wash clothes properly, is this how you will be washing clothes in your husband's house?, lazy girl". Mum would reply me. Washing the toilets was no fun. After cleaning it up to the best possible way, mom might still complain that it was not done properly. " Don't you see how sparkling white the toilets in TV adverts for toilet cleaners look?, why don't you try to make ours look the same way. By the way, its still the same toilet cleaner we are using too". Mum would say. At this point I will feel like crying, "mom, can't you see that those toilets used to advertise toilet cleaners are new toilets?! Its just marketing strategy ! I would scream in my mind. All morning, dad would still be on his bed listening to his radio since saturday was a work free day as mom command her troops outside. Once in a while, Dad might come outside and want to send one of us to go buy bread or radio batteries for him, mom will say to him: "This children don't like assisting me o, they want me to be doing all the work by myself all the time". I also noticed that the plates and pots to be washed on saturdays looked dirtier and more difficult to wash than any other days and I wondered why and how comes. They even seemed more in numbers than those of every other day. Sometimes, when I am almost done washing the dishes, out of no where, mom will just suddenly bring out one big old, dirty pot that I have not seen since when I was two years old and tell me to wash it too. " what kind of life is this?" I would scream out. Mom would also mutter something about daughters that don't like helping their mothers as she walks back to the kitchen to continue her cooking. Most times, I, my sister and cousin would engage in gossiping about other people. This regular interactions while we busy will make the workload lighter for us to bear. But if there's light, we would hardly speak to each other so that we can quickly finish our work and go watch those interesting TV dramas that are shown every Saturday. Those amazing soap operas are about the only consolation for a hectic Saturday. Watching TV while eating Saturday's meal which feels more delicious than that of weekdays is really cool . The meal soon becomes tasteless when the electricity goes off in the middle of a fine movie. When this happens, I feel so heartbroken to the extent of leaving the meal half eaten. Then after raining some cool curses on the power company, i would walk reluctantly to my room to get some rest and sleep that my body really wanted at the time. The only comforting and pleasant things about my Saturdays when growing up is when there was a wedding ceremony to attend. If a relative or neighbor or family friend is getting married on that day, then it would be a very exciting and happy day for me. Mom would have no choice than to postpone the environmental sanitation. She would also help us dress as she wants us to look very beautiful so that other people could see how good she takes care of her children. ******************************* Thank you so much for taking your time to read my Saturday ramblings,I really appreciate. I would also like to use this opportunity to celebrate @Princessbusayo on her 28th birthday, wishing you all more greatness and love in your new age. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Thank you so much big sis @theblackdoll for the sponsorship renewal. Sorry I am just getting to see it now after two days I really appreciate you nd I wouldn't take it for granted 💗☺
How true is Astrology? Sometimes last year, I was having an interesting conversation with a first cousin of mine. We kept talking for a long while as our discussion kept taking different angles. Then I asked him about his girlfriend whom he had been together with for almost year. I was quite surprise when he told me they had broken up. I became more surprised when he told me the reason for the breakup. Actually she was the one that initiated the break up. He told her that his birthday was coming up in a few days . They were both excited and started to make plans about how to make the birthday a beautiful and memorable day. Two days after, the lady requested to see him at their favorite café. To cut the long story short, she called it quits based on their "incompatible" zodiac signs. As soon as he had told him his date of birth the previous day, she had run a check on a " reliable" website on astrology and found out that her zodiac sign and his were not a good pair at all. She thought thst they shouldn't be together in order to prevent unfavorable unforseen circumstances between them on the future. Despite his pleas and appeals that their love for each other matters more than any other factors, she still stood on her ground and declared the breakup. According to her, astrology have saved her from alot of disasters in life and it has also lead her to a lot of successive and achievements. She revealed that anytime she goes against the signs or ignore the warnings in any aspect of her life, she would pay dearly sooner than later. I found this very interesting and I was propelled to check up my own sign and see what it got to say about my personality . I was shocked when I saw that most of the things it said about me were over eighty percent accurate. As a cancer born on July 19, my zodiac sign confirmed that I had a very fantastic imagination, had an ability to attract good people, i am hospitable and and loyal among other other qualities. I also found out some not too nice traits about myself which I felt reluctant to accept even though they were true to some extent. Lol. As a cancer, I am more compatible with people whose zodiac signs are taurus and Scorpio. I also conducted a check on this and found at that some amazing people in my life belong to these signs. Nevertheless, it doesn't mean I shouldn't strive to make friends with people whose signs are Sagittarius, Leo, Libra, Virgo, Pisces, Aries. As a matter of fact, I don't think I will consider a breakup with an amazing guy just because his zodiac ain't compatible with mine. Neither will i remain with an abuser or a half-wit just because our astrological signs says we are a good match By the way, thousands of couples round the world don't have an idea about what zodiac signs are all about but have been living peacefully for years . As a matter of fact I would really love to have friends with different zodiac personlities in my life and give them a chance rather than being judgemental based on some strange signs that I myself don't fully understand or know how it came about. Afterall, God blesses and listens to everyone's wishes irrespective of of religious, political, racial or social differences. Maybe my cousin's girlfriend was no longer interested in him or had found someone more interesting, who knows. Breakups are sometimes initaited by the most flimsiest excuses you know. As a matter of fact, a lot of people don't believe in zodiac signs and have associated it with occultism and dark magic and it is never appreciated by the religious folks. I had a sturbborn friend who would never subscribe with the zodiac meanings even though his own zodiac mirrors everything about him both physically mentally and emotionally. He insisted they were nothing more than mere permutations and approximate grouping of individual characteristics. He said he would only start taking it seriously if only they can predict accurately when a person would leave the earth too. Maybe it was his pride that was talking as he strongly believed that he alone can determine his fate and fortune in life and not some "meaningless signs". Funny enough, his zodiac described him as a doubting thomas with a mountainous pride and ego. To wrap it up, Your zodiac sign could be very certain about you and could also be true about the people around you too. But, it shouldn't be held as a climax to reflect and influence everything that you do. Thank you. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗👇
You don't have to yell Dear friends, so sorry I have not been very active for two days now. I viewed most of your articles but I couldn't summon the strength to read or comment but i promise to do my best. I don't know what is wrong with me but I am not just well. Since monday, I have been having an headache at the back of my head, I took a drug before going to bed on that day but I still couldn't find my strength the following day and my limbs felt heavier. Yesterday night, I visited a patent store nearby and I Requested for some drugs which were given to me over the counter. I asked the attendant about the price and he muttered something I couldn't understand properly. I asked him what was it that he said and he screamed out the price to my face as if I were deaf. Of course he didn't have to do that. I opened my purse and handed a five hundred naira bill to him.He was about to get my change when i smiled and told him to keep it. I told him goodbye and quickly begin to walk back to my house. After taking about ten steps, I turned around and saw him standing by his store looking at me. I saw the look of regret and remorse on his face . He was still looking at me when I took a turn which lead to my house. Obviously, he wanted to apologize about the way he treated me but he couldn't. I actually felt sorry for him and by the way,I knew he wasn't a bad person, he was probably upset before I came in I have always subscribe to the saying " tend and care for others the way you would also want to be treated" . I don't just know if you would believe me or not but I don't know how to yell, squawk , nag or scream at another person. Every time i am hurt by someone, i withdraw and go somewhere were I could be alone for sometimes and lick my wounds. Afterwards, i bounce back and continue the mingle with my fellow sapiens. Whenever I see other ladies both in movies and in real life yell at their partner, friend or stranger while they are upset or disappointed, I can't help but admire at this display of "toughness" and solidity. I might seem talkative and loquacious online but honestly I am quite reticent and restrained in real life. The only time I seldom raise my voice at another is when I am having a banter with a sibling or a loved one. And while yelling at each other, we would also laugh when something funny is said by either of us. And of course, our love tends to grow a step further after such squable. I think my bashfulness might be due to my family and domain. My dad was a soft-spoken and never a strict parent. Whenever i did wrong as a kid, he would make me stand in front of him instead of kneeling for more than an hour while he gives me the counselling of my life! Standing alone, for that long is more than a enough punishment for me and I would curse myself for breaking a rule as i transfer my weight from one tired leg to another out of frustration and tiredness. I have also discovered that most bullies are either from broken families or did not actually get to have enough love at home. During my brief stint as a classroom teacher, I discovered the bullies of the school had parents who were also aggressive and hostile. This is because I knew some of their mothers who were troublesome neighbors that lived in the same street or the next. Whenever there is a meeting involving parents and staff or when a childs parent is summoned, Some of them will not even allow you to talk as they are always yelling and would want to say everything at once all by themselves. No need to mention that such parents would constantly yell and spit venom at their kids at any slight mistake instead of using a more humane and motherly approach. Consequently when the kid gets to school, he would also become hostile and antagonistic to his classmates and smaller students. There was this particular boy that slapped a girl in his class and called her some derogatory names .After he had been punished by a male staff, I was still very furious and I insisted his parents should be summoned by the school. I was told that his parents had a divorce recently. I wasn't surprise to hear this, probably the boy had witnessed many times when his parents were always fighting in the evenings before they finally separated . No doubt,he must have unconsciously learned from his parents. Its a psychological thing you know. Happy homes will always produce happy kids. I can't remember ever fighting someone in my entire life. No matter who you are, weather big or small; rich or poor; male or female, As soon as you start yelling at me, I simply carry my shoes and run before the devil comes to spread his blanket over the both of us and someone might get hurt. "The psychological approach is always better than violence". Most people who have yelled at me without me fighting back do come back and apologize in private after they had regained their calm. You wouldn't blame them would you? Alot of folks out there are having it very rough in business, relationship, family or workplace and sometimes yelling at the next person might be another way to let off the pressure and steam that have been accumulating in their chests for a long time. And you just have to forgive him/her afterwards if you can but I don't think things will ever be as cool as before between you both especially when you were embarrassed in public . The damage have already been done. If the person is someone that is impervious, then you just have to avoid him or her as much as you can else another feud is likely to happen in nearest future. A philosopher whose name I can't remember said "**you shouldnt try to fight a pig as the animal will drag you into the gutter amd beat you with experience"** Thank you ******************************* 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Parents rating one child above the others Often times, it is common to see a family where a particular parent either the mom or dad tend to distinguish one child and show them special love and affection at the expense of the others. From what I have seen and experienced, when a couple gives birth to their first kid, The love for the child would seem boundless and immeasurable since he/she is the first and only child at the moment . Young couples usually cease every available opportunity to show off the first fruit that has made their family complete. As soon as a second child comes around, a parent love is being divided among the two kids. Sometimes the division of a father's or mother's love might be equal and in a few cases, it might tend to tilt in favor of the new kid. Later on,maybe a third child comes around, and a parent's love would further have to be shared among the three children. It is common knowledge, especially in my parts of the world, that the last child enjoys more of the parent's love and fondness more than the older siblings. This is quite natural and acceptable to every society as lastborns would always be daddy's or mommy's pet and the older siblings do understand this. A sibling might even love his youngest bro or sis more than the other siblings , this is also natural too. At-times, it would seem as if a mother's or father's attachment tend to linger more on a particular child over the years even after the last child have already been born . This might make the other siblings quite uncomfortable. It is very possible that as a parent, your love towards your kids might not be equal and this is perfectly Ok. But as a sane parent, you have to be sensible enough so that they wouldn't know as they are all your kids by the way. I don't think the other siblings would be comfortable when they come to realize that their mother/father have a special fancy for one of them at their own expense. Although the rest of children might later get used to this fact when they are still growing up together but of course it might probably lead to a cold war between siblings in the future. The special love and attraction shown by a parent to a particular kid can be due to a number of reasons. It might be that the child in question is the most disciplined, loyal, intelligent or the most understanding one among the rest of the siblings. Such qualities and more would naturally gravitate a mother or father towards him/her. Usually, the equation becomes balanced when the other siblings observes this and might feel challenged to work harder in order to become better versions of themselves so as to earn their mother's or father's respect too. Things might eventually work out for good and a parent becomes very proud of all their children. In few cases, there might be nothing special about the favored child. He/she might even be the laziest or the one with the weakest character or mentality when compared to the others. This might make the other children feel cheated especially when they are always doing their best to make their family proud, but are never appreciated as much as the favored child who wouldn't do anything for himself talk more for the family. I had a course mate who had complained bitterly to me how her father had always preferred her elder sister to her ever since they were kids, even though she was obviously "better" than her in all ramifications. She was given admission to the university earlier than her elder sister since she was more brilliant but her father had insisted that she should forsake the admission and wait till the following year when her elder sister might hopefully secure an admission so that they would commence their studies together. According to her, she noticed that her father was more happier when her elder sister got admission than when she secured hers the previous year and this made her cry. I was surprised when she told me that she and her dad had never had a phone call conversation ever since she began studying at the university. But he would always call the older sister at least four times a week and they usually chat for sometimes. Her dad would merely tell the favorite daughter to " send his regards" to her younger sister, before hanging up. Even when the both of them are living in the same room, her dad never bothered to hear her voice so long as he had already spoken with her older sister. Her father's insensitivity and bias towards her had caused her quite a lot of emotional trauma to the extent that the she began to think of the possibility of not beeen a biological daughter or maybe she was adopted . But that couldn't be true, she also bear same facial resemblance to her father as much as the favorite daughter. What is worse is that she was also deprived of a mother's love too. Had it been their mother were still alive, she would have definitely drawn closer to her and cared less about her father's bias. I tried to console her and told her to consider the situation from another angle. Maybe her dad already realized that she was more responsible, diligent and courageous and that might be the reason why her dad is less anxious about her since he already have faith in her . "The reason why your father is more concerned and spends more energy on your older sister might be because he is trying to build her up so that she can also be as good as you are". I told her. But she didn't believe that, as a matter of fact, she thought I said that just to cheer her up. She maintained that she knew her father more than me and on countless occasions, their father had always shown preferential treatment to her older sister ever since they were kids. Her father had said that her older sister reminded him of his own grandmother who he was very fond of. She promised herself that she would have her " revenge" when their father becomes old and weak.... I didn't understand what she meant by this and I didn't bother to ask since its their family affair. Personally, I rather have just one kid than to have multiple children if I know that i wouldn't be capable of showing them equal love. Afterall, they never had the opportunity to choose the parent they would like to have before coming into the world and the least I could do for them as a mother is to give my unconditional love to all rather than to be unfair. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗👇 ch

Dear friend, so sorry I can't put up an article today. I am quite down with a little fever I developed in the morn. I promise to read as much articles as I can when I get much better. Thanks yiy
Let the bread bake. It came as a shock to everyone when Abel was also sacked alongside other employees. He was among the oldest staff and the most loyal. He tried unsuccessfully to plead with the management to reconsider their decision. If not for anything but for The sake of his wife and kids since he was the lone breadwinner in The family. Funny enough, before the sack, Abel thought that he was indispensable and a valuable asset to the company. Now he knew better and he thought how stupid he was. Things had been very rough for abel months ever since he lost his job. He had been searching for another factory job ever since but anywhere he goes,he was always told that there was no vacancy even though he had a very impressive record of experience. Thank God for professor Solomon, Abel's step brother who had been assisting him and his family since the time he lost his job. The professor placed his stepbrother and his family on a monthly allowance and every last weekend , Abel will visit the professor's house to receive the stipend. One day, Abel's first daughter fell seriously ill, and she was rushed to the hospital. Abel called and informed the professor about this. The professor came to the hospital after he closed from office to see the child. Fortunately, she was already recovering and the Doctor said she would be discharged the following day. After having s a light conversation with Abel and his wife, the professor paid the medical expenses and bid told them goodbye. The following week, Abel came to see the professor. In one of his hands, was a polythene bag containing a big loaf of bread which he presented to the professor. No doubt, he was very grateful to the professor for the role he played when his daughter was ill and as a poor man, this was all what he could afford as a token of appreciation. The professor recieved the gift with smile albeit nonchalantly. The following morning, as early as 7:00am, the professor drove to Abel's house. Abel was very surprised to see the prof. at his house at this time and by the way the professor have never been to his little house before. To Abel's surprise, the professor wanted to know where he bought the bread hr gave him the previous day. The professor admitted that he had never eaten a bread so delicious before in his entire life and would want to know where he bought that particular bread so that he can be getting more of it on a daily basis. Abel laughed and revealed to the professor that he baked the bread himself specially for him. The professor was very shock to here this. " I never knew you could bake so well" he said. Abel told him that he learnt how to bake a long time ago when he was very young. Since he was the last child of his mother, he was always with her in the kitchen. There, he learnt the secret of baking since his mom was also a good chef. The professor looked at his stepbrother Abel for a long time, then left the house without saying anything else. The month ended, and as usual,Abel visited the professor to get his stipend. He was totally thrown aback when the professor suddenly became very hostile towards him. "I am sorry Abel, but I am not giving you any more money again. As a matter of fact, I am sick and tired o f your constant bother. I am not the reason you lost your job, now get out my house!". The professor said. " Since you know how to make such delicious bread, why don't you open up a bakery, and believe me, in no time you would be making a lot of money from it". Abel looked at his stepbrother with wide eyes and mouth agape. He thought he had suddenly been possessed by a demon. "What are you saying bro?! I don't have any money to start up a bread business,I don't even have a space to serve as a bakery. As you already know, I live in a one room apartment with my family of four. The professor leaned forward and looked directly into Abel's eyes and said. " Convert that your one room apartment to a bakery". Now Abel was quite sure that the professor was really out of his mind. "Do you realize what you are saying sir?" Where will my family stay if I convert my little room to a bakery ? . " I don't care about where your family would live, you can throw them into the bush for all I care. Now get out of my house and I don't want to see you again until you have made up your mind"! The professor barked at him. Abel couldn't sleep that night, he told his wife what transpired between him and the professor and she became very upset. "How could such a good man suddenly become very wicked overnight?"she cried. After a week of hard thinking, Abel decided to do what the professor told him to do. By the way, apart from the professor , there was no body in the whole world who could help. His wife had to sent their children to stay with an elder sister. The professor smiled knowingly when Abel and his wife told him that they had agreed to convert a little room to a bakery. Abel and his wife were shocked when the professor produced a cheque of five hundred thousand naira ( A thousand dollars ). "That should be enough capital for the your business", he said. For three months, Abel and his wife got really busy. After his wife finished making the bread, Abel would balance the loaves at the back of his old motorcycle and travel round the neighborhood in his district where he would supply grocery stores and various tea shops with bread. Some customers would even call him for fresh supplies in less than twenty four hours after the first supply. No doubt people loved the bread he made, which was not only more tastier but was also cheaper than others from bigger bakeries . Abel amd his wife were pleasantly surprised at how things were turning around for good, they were making much more profits from their little bakery than they had expected. Abel and his wife visited the professor one day and told him how their little business was growing fast. The professor was excited to hear this and again he gave Abel one of his old vehicle which he would utilise in conveying a larger quantity of his products to his customers so as to boost sales and reduce stress. Within six months , Abel made a lot of money from his sales . He was able to expand his business by renting an old warehouse which he now used for production. He also was able to employ three laborers as his business continued to grow. Today, Abel had already established himself as one of the leading bread manufacturer in his state. He already has three bakeries and two houses. Abel and his wife would be forever grateful to the professor for his ingenuity by challenging them to take the bull by the horns even though they had thought it impossible. This short story is actually a figment of my imagination and not real. I pray you enjoyed reading it . ☺ CONCLUSION If we don't leave our comfort zone, chances are that we shall never grow and improve. Never be afraid to take risk or try new things. You might surprise yourself and become the best within a short while. ******************************* To all my sponsors, upvoters, readers and commenters, Thank y'all so much for the continued love and support. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Adieu Blackberry On January 4th, the blackberry corporation confirmed that it has completely shut down the production of its once popular device and previous versions of the device would not longer support calls and internet operations. On hearing this, I momentarily developed a strong feeling of nostalgia More than a decade ago, The blackberry was the favorite in my country Nigeria. Alot of youths did the unbelievable just to acquire it. To many young ladies, it was a stamp of honor and vereration to be seen with that phone. **First Meet** **my** **humble** **and** **magnanimous** **sponsors.** During anniversaries, birthdays, valentines day or christmas,Men would surprise their partners with a blackberry device and the lady would term it as the " perfect gift ever". And as soon as she can, she would display her BBM pin on her facebook for the whole world to see that her " levels have changed" and she's now a big girl! Young folks were ready to go any length just to have it. Some owners of BB at the time would make others around them feeling inferior and term you "poor" or "jealous" because your parent of your boyfriend could not afford to buy one for you. Honestly speaking, I never liked the phone and never considered it special even though it was the cynosure of all eyes and anybody especially a lady that owns it is always seen as a goddess of some sort. I always preferred and loved my Nokia N series. Back then, some brands of thid phone were very expensive as their prices were as high as two hundred thousand naira ( over 1 BCH). I know of a lot of girls whose only accomplishment over the years in the university was owning a blackberry. They never achieved anything else academically. They would always "Ping" on their devices when classes was in progress. . Some girls might even starve themselves just to gather enough money for their monthly BBM subscription which around that time was about three thousand naira ( 15 dollars). You would see them flaunting their device in the faces of ohters anywhere they went to, be it school, church or market place. They dont hesitate to share their BBM pin with anyone that asked them for it, even with men whose intentions were evil. I know of a girl whose blackberry was eventually snitched from her bag and she cried for days. It was as if the sky fell on her. She wouldn't eat for days and slipped into dangerous depression. Ofcourse, she was the loud and boastful type who never misses any opportunity to show off just so that others would feel inferoir and intimidated by her. As a matter of fact, her siblings had to contribute money just to get another device for her in order to help her save face lest she harm herself. This leaves one to only imagine all the nasty things she must have done before she was able to buy the phone. The race for owning a BB device was very stiff at that time. Many young ladies sold their virginity for a BBM device. Guys would use it to finally conquer ladies who were forming hard to get . When a lady suddenly sees a guy who she had been been snubbing for a long time with a blackberry, her perception towards him changes immediately. it might even be a gift from an uncle or an elder brother, but all these wouldn't matter to her and she succumbs to him foolishly. Sometimes, a girl might even dump her present boyfriend who was loyal for a new guy who she absolutely knows nothing about just because she saw him holding a blackberry. Guys wouldn't mind collecting huge debt just to buy their girlfriends the latest model of the device so that they dont dump them for richer guys. There was this story of a guy who was almost beaten to death when he was caught trying to steal an expensive Blackberry from one of the guests at a wedding ceremony, he almost lost an eye and ended up with a broken arm. Another had to do sometime in prison after being caught. All these happened more than a decade ago. How time flies..... Who would have thought that the almighty blackberry that almost cost the lives of some and made young people to behave in various unscrupulous ways all in a bid to possess it would become something outdated and forgotten today. Recently I boarded a commercial bus and the passenger seated close to me was on a call. I was shocked to see that the phone was actually a blackberry. I was like " who the hell still make use of a blackberry in today's world?!" . I shook my head. He was obviously embarrassed when he noticed how I was looking at the phone. Needless to say, I felt sympathy for him and wished I hadn't reacted the way I did. **CONCLUSION** All is vanity, never make a fool of yourself or go the extreme to acquire material and worldly things. Few years from now, the luxury phones and stuffs we admire and adore today might become obsolete and primitive tomorrow. ********************************************************* To all my sponsors, subscribers, upvoters and commmeters, Thank y'all so much and I love you all 💗💗💗💗💗💗
6 years in a traffic jam Good day lovely people . How beautiful it is to write to y'all once again. I really thank God for this wonderful opportunity every day. And of course to my amazing friends here, my heart is always full of gratitude. Y'all are the best. **Meet** **my** **amazing** **and** **magnanimous** **sponsors** So, recently I was listening to the news recap on my favorite radio station and I heard something that really held my attention and got me really wondering for some minutes. It goes thus:" *if* **you** **have** **been** **living** **in** **lagos** **for** **55** **years**, **then** **you** **must** **have** **already** **spend** **6** **years** **of** **your** **life** **in** **the traffic jam**" Now, for my fellow Nigerian folks, you might not see this as a big surprise. But for the information of my non- Nigerian friends, Lagos is a city in Nigeria. It is the most populous and the most popular city in west Africa and by extension Africa. It is also the commercial hub and the most industrialized city. As a result of these, Lagos is very unique and despite the high cost of living, alot of people from other parts of the country crave to come to this city because they believe it is a land full of opportunities Also, there alot of multinational firms namely; nestle, Pfizer, unilever, PZ , et.al are concentrated in Lagos more than any part of the country. Due to this continual influx of people coupled with the fact that it is not a very large city, the traffic conditions in Lagos city is one of the most terrible in the world. Consequently, its large citizenry had also lead to rise in the number of private vehicles. Also, the countless number of commercial buses that cater for the transport need of the large populace makes the Lagos traffic a living nightmare for many. And since the city is in a developing nation, the transport system is not very efficient as majority of roads are plagued with potholes. It becomes terrible during the rainy season as a lot of vehicles gets stuck on their way. If not because of the physical exertion involved, a lot of people would have preferred "trekking"( walking) to their destination everyday. For Godsake, how could one spend as much as three hours in a traffic for a journey of less than an hour? You could even watch the whole episodes of the "squid games" and your vehicle haven't yet moved an inche. And as soon as you barely get out from one hold-up, you are being greeted by a more awful one, few minutes later. The ban on the use of commercial motorcycles complicated things the more. Motorcycles are more flexible than cars and buses as they could navigate through the traffic easily. They can even meander through shorter and narrow routes that a larger vehicle dare not pass through. Before the ban,Alot of car owners wouldn't mind leaving their cars at home everyday and hopping on the back of a motorcycle so long as they can get to their destination on time. A family relative who resides there revealed that every morning, he wakes up around 4:30am and leaves for work at exactly 5:am. But as a result of the hellish traffic , he arrives at his office at around 9:00am. Due to sheer weariness and fatigue, he settles his crown and shoulders on his desk for around ten minutes before he could start the day's work. As a matter of fact, the young man is quite certain than his health is gradualy going down the hill. Even though, he makes a lot of money, but due to the stress of both work and traffic, he looks quite older than his brothers and cousins living at the countryside and other less successful cities. He has been advised to resign from the job after saving some money and retire to a less buzzing city, then start a business there. The return journey is even more terrible as alot of people would also be returning home at the time. closing from the office around 5:00pm and arriving home at 10:00 pm , sometimes 11:00pm (depending on the range between your residence and your workplace). And this cycl e continues on a daily basis. On weekends and on Sundays, the traffic situation might even be worse, since a lot of people would be on their way to their places of worship and other social gathering. To say the least, this is nothing short of a punishment for commuters. In other cities, the distance between the two points wouldn't be more than twenty to thirty minutes. And as bad as it is, I heard that the Lagos traffic is not even close to that of Mumbai in india! Lagos traffic is not even among the top ten in the world! ******************************* Thank you so much for taking your time out to read my work. Yours lovely 💗💗💗💗💗 bilqees.

He was almost killed! Good day everyone. Hope the new year is still treating you alright... The continual rise in the rate of infection of the omicron variant is really upsetting. I am afraid that we would get to a level just like the beginning of 2020. What is also worrisome is that the vaccines might wouldn't be able to get to every one if the number of infection become higher than the available dose. If such a scenario happens, hoarding (artificial scarcity) might result especially in developing nation. This might lead to an unpleasant situation where only a certain number of individuals will have access to the vaccines as due to their higher position in the socio economic ladder. **Meet** **my** **humble** **and** **magnanimous** **sponsors.** Sometimes in 2021, I had to go to a salon to make my hair. The salon was a shop in a big building that was facing a very busy road which lead to a market. I always like patronising this particular salon because their cost was average and I was also very friendly with some of the stylists. Actually, two of the girls were about my age and I have known them since childhood. After I made my hair,I decided to visit the nearby market to get some stuff. I was about crossing the road when I heard the unpleasant sound of screeching tyres tussling to come to an halt followed by the sharp but awful noise of car brakes in distress. An accident had just happened at the other side of the road some meters from where I stood. My heart sank momentarily and I prayed silently within me that it shouldn't be that serious.. As usually, a crowd have already started forming at the accident scene. I took some quick steps to also see and assess the extent of the damage. A white Mercedes 450 with tinted glasses had knock down a middle aged man who was trying to cross to the other side. The man that was knocked down laid motionless on the ground as if he were dead. The driver of the car, who was obviously a youth immediately stepped out, with fear and apprehension written all over him, he knelt down beside his victim and frantically tried to resusitate him. By now, a steady crowd had began to pour towards the accident scene. Fortunately, the accident victim was not that hurt, he had passed out as a result of the shock. He only sustained minor bruises at the sides of his legs when he fell down. Thank God the driver was able to stamp on the brakes just in the niche of time before the vehicle could do serious damage to the poor man. I saw the driver of car breathed a very huge sigh of relieve as he wiped his already sweaty face and hands with an handkerchief. The driver helped the man up. Then suddenly, a woman who sells bread by the roadside who saw when everything happened declared that it was actually the fault of the victim and not the driver. She maintained that the man didn't watch out before he started to cross the road. Three other people from the crowd who had also seen observed the accident also agreed with the woman. And instead of the crowd blaming the driver, they all blamed the other man. This really came as a pleasant surprise to me because as far back as I can renember, whenever there's an accident that involve a car owner and a pedestrian, people always blame the car owner. To say the least, i was really impressed by this level of honesty. As much as I know, whenever things like this happens, Nigerians would usually defend the poorer individual. Its a psychological thing you know. The poor are usually united against the rich because "they are our oppressors" I imagined that a similar accident might have happened somewhere in the past and the crowd must have blamed the car owner. A member of the crowd whose children were out of school as a result ot his inability to pay the school fees might just decide to vent his frustrstion on the owner of this beautiful car. Another member whose girlfriend must have ditched him for a richer guy might decide to transfer the aggression by grabbing the neck of the car owner and screaming insults at his face for causing the accident. Its possible that someone vile might even decide the wreck the car instead of attending to the wounded accident victim. Lol,sorry for allowing my imagination to run away with me, but such scenario is very common in my country. Alot People always see the owner of a nice car as a rich man who oppresses them. Therefore, he should definitely be the one at fault even though when its so clear that the error was from the hoi-polloi. My Nigerian friends can relate to this very well. To cut the long story short, the common man agreed that he had crossed the road absentmindedly. With tears in his eyes, he revealed that his two children hadn't eaten since the morning and his wife who was pregnant was also ill. He was o didn't know what to do or where to ask for help, he was just walking around aimlessly. He looked emaciated too. The owner of the car really felt sorry for him. He unclosed his car and brought out two bundles of cash and handed them over to the other man. The crowd were really dazzled at this spectacular gesture and they all began to hail the car owner. The ovation was so loud that other motorists had to stop momentarily to check out what was going on from their car seats. The poorer man was so happy that he couldn't stop thanking his benefactor as he knelt down and continued to thank him. From what I saw, I believe that the richer man was more happier. Had it been the other man had been killed in the accident, he would have been in real serious trouble with the crowd whether the accident was his fault or not and he knew this. Thank God no lives were lost and everyone was happy at the end of the day. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
"Infant money" Hello everyone. I hope so far, it's been a splendid 2022 for we all. Moments ago when I was returning from a nearby grocery store to get some necessities, I saw a young man who I was very familiar as hell also lives in the neighborhood. He was actually on a phone call and bitterly complaining to a friend how rough the new year had been for him financially. This was quite amusing to me, cause I have known this guy for a long time and i can say that he has been broke for as far back as January 2010, so why put all the blame on January 2022? Lol.... Actually, he is an irresponsible gambler, so I had just a slight sympathy for him. **Meet** **my** **humble** **and** **magnanimous** **sponsors** Now back to my strange topic " **infant** **money**" . In the northern part of Nigeria where I live. When a child is born, as expected, family members, friends neighbors, acquaintances and well- wishers will troop to the house to see the new born and also congratulate the mom. And as the tradition demands, every visitor will definitely gift some money to the mother and the child before leaving. No amount of money is considered too big or too small. In the local language, this is popularly referred to as ***kudin*** ***barka. (Infant money).*** Earlier in the morning, when mom was about to go out, she informed me that her customer's wife had just put to birth, and she was on her way to pay them a visit. Then she mentioned the name of the customer. I was quite surprised as I remembered that told me that particular this man's wife put to birth three months ago. Mom saw my confusion and quickly clarified the situation by reminding me that this man had two wives and one of them had also given birth to a child three months after the other wife gave birth. Actually from what I heard that morning, the two wives have been engaged in a peculiar childbearing competition for a long time now. Every year for the past nine years, their husband welcomes at least a child from any of his two wives. The man was obviously rich in both wealth and children. Whenever one of the two wives gives birth , she would boast of how much she made in "infant money" from the money given to her by her husband's business associates, friends amd other family members. The other woman on hearing this will take it as a challenge and get pregnant almost immediately so that she can make more money through infant money. Let's say the first woman that gave birth made 50,000 naira ($120), the second woman would plan to make atleast 70,ooo naira through the collection of "infant money" too. Honestly speaking, I find this utterly ridiculous. Indiscriminate childbearing has now become another investment and a source of revenue to some people. Or maybe its because these women are full time housewives and out mental sloth, they decided to turn themselves to babymaking factories . I really don't think an educated or working class lady would depend on indiscriminate and thoughtless childbearing as a source of income. I later came to realise that this bizarre practice was very common in my region of the country among idle and uneducated housewives in a polygagamous home . I later heard of another woman whose co-wife had given birth to a set of twin and generated quite alot of "infant money". This woman was not quite happy as she wished she were the one that had gave birth to twins. So, she became pregnant in two quick succession in less than three years. She almost lost her life during the second birth due to complications as there was no adequate spacing between the two births. The doctor told her after the operation that she wouldn't be able to have more children as her womb had been damaged. On hearing this, the woman began to wail, and kept crying for a long time even though her baby survived and was healthy . This was a woman that already had five children fa. No need to mention that the reason for her sadness was that she wouldnt be able to get any more infant money in the future. Sh even accused the other woman of usng witchcraft to destroy her womb. Giving birth to children indiscriminately because of short term pecuniary benefits is nothing but plain crazy! Such kind of shallowness and ignorance is totally on another level. And of course, most people actually dont see the problem here because "children are gifts from God". While playing such a bizarre game of numbers with innocent young lives, what if something terrible happens tomorrow? What would be the fate of the children if something happens and the financial situation of the family becomes seriously affected. What if the father suddenly dies from an accident, attack or illnesses. Who would take care of all his numerous kids in this treacherous world? It wouldn't surprise me if this same women place a tray of oranges or groundnuts on on top of the heads of their little children, then send them into the street to go hawk and look for money for them since their husband is no more. No wonder child abuse and child labor is so prevalent in developing countries, all thanks to irresponsible parents . ********************************** To all my sponsors, upvoters, commenters and subscribers... Thank you all so much. Yours lovely, 💗💗💗💗 Bilqees.

Reminiscing on a polygamous family Hello everyone.. Hope you all are still basking in the new year euphoria. Well, The public holiday in my country came to an end yesterday ( Monday), so right now, its about time we all get to work. You are I can't keep remaining at home and relaxing you know. The holidays are over now and normal life ha e returned. Time to go out to there and make some quick bucks as usual! **Meet** **my** **amazing** **and** **magnanimous** **sponsors**. Earlier in the morning, I was going through my Instagram when I saw some beautiful pictures of a famous artist in my country. He obviously was celebrating the new year with his family in another country. This engage had three children with three different women and have never been married. From the pics,it was quite evident that they were all happy and having a good time. Well, I have seen alot of polygamous family around through out my life. Afterall, polygamy is quite a prominent part of the African culture. "***men*** ***are*** *****polygamous***** *****in***** ***nature***", some people would say. Above all, I have noticed one thing, polygamy looks quite beautiful when the family is still young. But over the years, when the youngsters become adults and start to have divergent thinking and opinions about their step mothers, father, step siblings and the world in general, things might become quite ugly. A mother might whip up sentiments in the heart of her son or daughter by telling them stuffs that she think they should know about their father or the other woman and their step siblings. Needless to say, the realities about the other parties might be distorted or in worse cases, a mother might absolutely brainwash the child which will ultimately make him to see the others in bad light. In the long run, cold war and animosity would sometimes develop between step siblings. I had an uncle who married three women and they gave him more than a dozen children . when I was much more younger, I always loved to spend my holidays at their place since most of the children were in thesame age bracket as me. The bond between my cousins from different mothers was so admirable. They would all play together, eat together from same plate, laugh together. They helped each other in their school assignments and whenever any of the children was sick, the others would act as clowns just to make their step brother or sister happy. There was always division of labor and nobody ever complained of maltreatment or opression. Every child respected his step mother as if she was his own mother. No doubt , My uncle was very proud of his large family. During the yuletide season, his Household could be likened to fantasyland beaming with the happy faces of women and children. There's alot of music, food and drinks for everyone and every visitor. I was so impressed by this display of love strength. As a matter of fact I considered myself lucky to have such amazing cousins, uncle and aunties. Whenever school finally resumes and it was time to go back to my father's house, I always feel reluctant and I would plead with mum to enroll me in the school that my cousins attend just so that I could be with them always. But that wouldn't be possible because their school was very far away from my father's house. I would always cry when it was time for me to go back home as I knew I would miss them so much. I might even become gloomy for days. All these are the good side of a polygamous family, but are they really permanent? Seven years ago, my uncle died from a protracted illness and his once holy, happy big family crumbled into awful fragments. In fact , when he was still on his sick bed, his wives had already started fighting, accusing one another of trying to kill their husband through diabolical means. They told each other awful things in the presence of their children. It was as if they had been bottling these emotions all this while and the opportunity of spilling them out had just presented itself. A month after the funeral of the deceased, the fights and slandering became nastier as their children who were now fully fledged were recruited by their mothers into the war. Things deteriorated more after the father's will was read and the properties shared among the women and their children. Jealousy and hatred conquered a once ideal and beautiful family. **DISCLAIMER** I am in no way advocating against polygamy. I'm only talking from what I have seen in a polygamous family. I have also seen some polygamy where the children from various mothers remain good friends and peaceful long after their father's death. Once or twice , i have asked some of these children of "**peaceful**" polygamous family weather they would also love the idea of venturing into polygamy just like dad, but strangely enough, the answer is always a "NO" ********************************* A very big thanks to my sponsors, upvoters, readers and commenters. I will always appreciate you all Yours lovely, Bilqees.

Little broken spiderman victor was the youngest and only son among three sisters . His father had died when he was only an infant. However, victor never felt the deprivation of a father as he grew older. **Meet** **my** **honorable** **and** **magnanimous** **sponsors**. **Love** **them** **to** **the** **moon** **and** **back**!! Uncle coker, his father's younger brother loved victor to bits. He would do anything to make his nephew happy. Uncle coker who was in his early forties was a successful telecommunication engineer. His elder brother, Andrew who was victor's father, was the one who sponsored his university education as their father had died a when they were still boys. Actually, Andrew had to forfeit his own education and put his life on hold so that his younger brother could continue schooling and improve. There was no other option, their father was late and they had no one to fund them schooling. Coker was more brilliant. He had tried several times to teach his elder brother mathematics but andrew hated it. One night, when the two boys were studying by a kerosene lamp, Andrew said to his younger brother. " Now that our father is late, it would be quite impossible for both of us to continue with our education, as soon as I complete my high school education this year, I would have to seek for a vocation in order to support you and mom". "Since you are better than me in school, why don't you go ahead and acquire all that education and make us proud some day while I stick to tailoring". Andrew said . Their mother who was already heartbroken by the death of her husband burst into tears when her two sons told her about their decision, Andrew tried to convince her that it was the only way. When coker completed his university degree, he was able to secure a lucrative job almost immediately since he had graduated with high honors. Five years later, Andrew died in his sleep. His wife, mary had just given birth to a son, victor. Coker was completely shattered by the loss of his angel brother and he wept for days. Coker never waived his late elder brother's family. Even though his sister in-law was doing quite well in her business, Coker insisted on championing his nephew and nieces education and providing for their every need. He vowed that no matter what it takes, he would send victor abroad for his university education Victor was now a twelve years old kid and had his uncle completely wrapped round his finger. To coker, No favor was too much to do for victor. He spoilt him silly with expensive gifts . To make things more beautiful, victor took after his uncle's brains. He was very good in mathematics and sciences. He told his uncle that he would love to be an engineer too one day and his uncle was very pleased to hear this. On his 12th birthday, uncle coker bought him an expensive smartphone. Victor's mom was not very comfortable with this, she complained that victor would be distracted from his studies. "Why not get him a phone when he was done with high school Education", Victor's mother protested. But uncle coker didn't listen to her, Infact he promised that he would buy victor a car when he was done with his high school education. Victor's mom became speechless. On Christmas day , Coker surprised victor by gifting him a really endearing **spiderman's** **suit** . A week earlier, coker had visited the family, he overheard victor and his sister dicussing about the movie " **spiderman**, **no** **way** **home**". Victor told his sisters that spiderman's suit was really cool and that he had always admired it for a long time Victor was so full of joy when he got his Christmas present. The suit looked so real just like the one in the movie. No doubt it must have cost alot. He thanked his uncle over and over again. He really felt proud when he walked round the neighborhood with his suit. Other kids would always follow him by the flanks like a king and thanks to uncle coker, he made alot of new friends. The next day, victor began to get intoxicated by the sheer grandeur of his spiderman suit. He would exagerrate in the presence of other boys that the suit was no ordinary toy or costume. "My uncle bought it for thousands of dollars", victor said. " As a matter of fact, it possess the extraordinary powers that would enable me to fly across buildings", Victor continued to brag. On seeing the look of utter bewilderment and respect in the eyes of his peers, victor felt like a god and at that moment and he lost his mind. He wanted to impress them further . He ran into a nearby three-storey building and hurriedly reached the first floor , then he mounted the balcony. As he looked downward and saw the other boys watching him with their heads tilted upwards, awe written all over their faces and mouths agape. Victor felt like the real spider man in his magnificent suit. With his eyes close and arms outstretched, victor jumped over the balcony and tried to fly on to the next building. Victor's mother was sitting by the hospital bed . Her eyes were very red and swollen as she kept crying throughout the night. The doctor said that victor had broken core bones in his arms, jaw, neck and rib. He would be going in for surgery any moment from now . Uncle coker was in a meeting when his phone rang. The news came as severe blow to him. He felt as if a truck had hit him in the face. He immediately jumped up from his seat as if he had been stung by queen bee and rushed to the hospital where victor was admitted. As soon as victor's mom saw coker, shr attacked him like a wild animal, She held him by the tie, and continue to hit him on the face with her other hand. She was about to reach for his eyes with her artificial nails but was stopped abruptly by the three nurses who held her down. She screamed at her husband's brother and accused him of killing her husband. She called him an accultic man who also wanted to sacrifice his nephew in order to gain more wealth. Coker was dumb stricken and stood transfixed with wide eyes and mouth agape as his sister inlaw continued to spit out vile words that tore his heartstrings. He made one last desperate but slow movement to see victor's face again, but Victor's mom screamed so loud that her voice reverberated through out the the hospital. "Dont allow this evil man come close to my son"! , she cried . The nurses pleaded with coker to leave the ward so that Victor's mom could calm down. With a heart heavy with agony, coker fell on his knees and burst into uncontrollable tears which made him choke on his sobs........... He was still crying when his heart stopped beating. ******************************* To all my sponsors, upvoters, subscribers and commenters. I really appreciate the love and the support. Your body size could be your Goodluck. God created us in his image and representation. No one has any right to mock another's body frame or size. Why on earth would you make someone feel bad about their physique when it doesn't bother you at all. Because your anatomy is very different from theirs doesn't make you better than them. **Meet** **my** **magnanimous** **and** **humble** **sponsors**. **They** **are** **one** **thousand** **percent** **sweet** Using awful names like **fatty**, **skinny**, **shorty** to describe a person when you aware it would hurt is very insentivity and irresponsible. Well, its no news that such body shaming affect the self-esteem and confidence of a lot of folks especially the females who are more emotional and easily broken. For a long time, I have always known that when people enjoy making a mockery of someone for absolutely no justifiable reason at all, then there must be something great about that person that is yet to be discovered. Rather than succumb to such travesties, they should serve as nothing short of motivation for the rapid growth and development of the individual . Sometimes ago, I was watching an interview of a highly successful model on BBC. This young lady revealed that when she was in high school, she suffered from a lot of physical and psycological bully from her mates because of her skinny nature. Almost everyone in class ( including the newcomers) would want to pick on her or disrespect her because of her small stature. She would always find comfort and solace in a teacher who was friendly with her since she was quite a brilliant kid. Her teacher encouraged her to consider the positives of her physique instead. He told her that she had the rare previledge of eating every food in the whole world without getting fat, and this ofcourse made her laugh. He also made her realize that she wouldn't age as fast as the rest of her mates. "Because of your tiny stature, you would still be looking twenty even when you are over thirty". Her teacher continued to inspire her till she discovered her talent. Today she's one of the most successful supermodels in the world and far more fortunate than all the girls who once mocked her. The taller basketball players all laughed at muggsy bogues. They all thought they were better than him because of his extreme shortness. But muggsy had a burning desire to play basketball at championship level and he was determined never to listen to the cristicism and noise of the people that didn't matter. As a matter of fact muggsy was the shortest player ever to play in the NBA. But he never saw this as a handicap but a source of strength. His quickness and intelligence enabled him to swiftly snatch the ball from much more taller players who underrated him to the amusement of the crowd. Needless to say, muggsy's admirers and fans grew rapidly over the years. During his career,he had more impressive stats than hundreds of taller NBA players and he commanded more respect. There's this girl I have known for a longtime now. The first thing that strikes you when you see her is the enormous body fat. She wears a sad look which always tell that she's definitely not comfortable with her build. She's mostly sitting or walking alone most of the since other girls would want to make fun of her figure. Later on, she was involved in a terrible accident which she miraculously survived. The doctor revealed that her body fats shielded her vital organs by absorbing most of the trauma at the time of the accident. The doctor was Quite sure that if it were any other person, death would be inevitable. This young lady is now happily married with a kid. During her years of being single, she was always under the impression that men would find her gross weight repulsive. She forgot that **one** **man's** **poison** **is** **another** **man's** **meat**. Lol . **CONCLUSION** We should never compromise ourselves just because others dont like the look of us. No Matter what you look like, look into the mirror morning and tell the person you see there that you are the best personin the sight of God. You are much more good looking than any other created being. Never compromise yourself. You are all that you have got, everyone else is already taken. If you fail to love yourself who will? ******************************* A big thank you To all my sponsors, readers, commenters and up voters. Yours lovely, 💗💗💗💗 Bilqees

Newspapers are for Your Children!! Hello everyone. An hour ago, i took a look at my notifications and saw that all the articles written by my friends were all about welcoming the new year, experiences fromt the previous year and expectations from the new one. I was about writing a similar article but i couldn't find a suitable title for it. Almost all the nice "titles" i could think of were already taken by someone else. So, unfortunately or fortunately,i decided to write about something else. Going down memory lane, i was addicted reading newspapers. All thanks to daddy who always return home everyday with atleast three dailies. **Meet** **my** **humble** ***and*** **magnanimous** **sponsors**. **They** **are** **one** **thousand** **percent** **sweet** I started developing keen interest in newspapers when I was six years old. Like a curious little cat, I would immediately come to sit close to dad when he is glancing at a newspaper and I would also try to take a glimpse . I always find the the bulky and complex little inscription of news matter written all over the papers boring and uninteresting. What always spur my interest was the beautiful and disparate images been displayed on every pages. When I see an image of of a group of surgeons operating on a patient, I would ask dad " Daddy, why are these people writting with red crayon on the stomach of this man?" . Daddy would try his best to explain to me what was happening. Before he even finished talking, I would shove his hands away and turn to the other page which might be talking about kids and parenting. On seeing a little white girl with a cute smile, I would declare that she was my friend whose name was blessing, since blessing light-skinned. I would scream at daddy to buy me thesame bicycle that I saw blessing riding in the newspaper. Out of exasperation, dad would leave the newspaper for me and listen to a transistor radio instead . He would return to it when I have gone outside to play. Later on, the transistor radio got spoilt. I spilled a cup of tea over it. But i dont think that was my fault, dad always drank tea while listening to the radio or reading a newspaper and the tea cup was very close to the radio on that day. Lol. By the time I was 12, I had already started developing interest in the written words of the newspaper. As matter of fact, dad's newspapers really helped me in learning how to read earlier than the rest of my classmates and friends. When there was no light to watch cartoons or home videos,I would pick up any of the newspapers and start reading them, just for something to do. I actually read the words aloud and if I come across any difficult word, dad would notice and assist me with its pronunciation. I remember when I was in grade 5 and grade 6, Mrs. Funke our English teacher realised that i was very fluent in reading and was also good in dictation(spellings). Therefore, she always chose me to come forward when it comes to reading a comprehension passage for the rest of the class members. By the time I was in Junior high school. I became more interested in the news conveyed by the papers. At that tender age, I knew almost all the names of the governors of the 36 states of my country and as their pictures were always appearing in the papers for one reason or the other. I was also quite familiar with alot of senators and ministers. I also got to know about the capital cities of more than a dozen countries in the world amongst other things . All these are stuffs that many SSS 3 students wouldn't know. Every evenning, dad returns home from work with a bunch of newspapers which he dumps on the center table and goes in to take a shower. I would quickly grab the newspapers, and skipped all the long stories about politics which i find very boring. My favorite sections were the "kiddies corner, games and puzzles, followed by entertainment and sports. By the time dad was through with dinner, I must have seen all my favorite stories. Dad preferred the political discussions. As expected, my social studies and general knowledge teachers observed my vast knowledge in current affairs and were very impressed. Needless to say, I was the best in these subjects. They also told other teachers about this. Sometimes, when the general knowledge teacher was having a hard time with a senior class, he would send for me at once. I would correctly give the answer to a question that the whole students in the class could not answer and the teacher will order them to give me a round of applause. I really enjoyed these moments and i walk back to my classroom with shoulders up, grinning from ear to ear. Once in a while, I helped some of the senior students with their assignments in general knowledge and social studies if I can. I was also very good in debates because i would always consult my newspapers at home ( both old and neew) for excellents ideas and points about the topic of discussion. This made me very outstanding in a number of interschool and interclass competitions. And of course, I was always given a prize for my brilliant performance. In a short while, I became quite a popular kid in the building. All thanks to my darling newspapers. When boys and girls of my age were mostly familiar with "Tom and Jerry" and disney characters, through daddys newspapers, I was able to meet and learn more about iconic figures like; nelson Mandela, martin Luther king, mahatma Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher, Williams Shakespeare and a host of others. The covers of my exercise books and textbooks were always wrapped and decorated with the colorful pages of old newspapers. They looked very attractive to my class members and they pleaded with me to bring some papers for them to use on their books too. As a generous chairlady, I gave them as many newspapers as they wanted. In a short while, I became the chief supplier of wrapping newspapers to many students in my school. ******************************* To all my sponsors, subscribers, commenters and upvoters, thank you so much for the continuous love and support. Wishing you all a more successful and celebrated 2022. Yours lovely, 💗💗💗💗 Bilqees.

Some ridiculous myths surrounding Blood donation Earlier this morning, I heard a sad news from a neighbor. She told that a woman in the next street had lost her baby who was only a month old. According to the story, the baby had developed a serious illness the previous day. When he was taken to the hospital, the doctor declared that the child would need some blood transfusion before they could commence any treatment. The child's father had traveled for a business trip and the mother couldn't get a suitable donor immediately . So, she decided to buy the two pints of blood that was required . But her mother in law vehemently opposed this idea. She insisted that apart from the child's father, no stranger's blood should enter the body of her grandson. She believed that her grandson would grow up and have the behavior and mannerisms of the stranger whose blood was in his body. The old lady feared that the badluck and badspirit from an unknown person would penetrate into the soul of her beloved grandson. The doctor and nurses were utterly shocked by this absurd superstition and they tried to convince her that it doesn't make any sense. But the old woman remained adamant and warned the health workers to back off. She then immediately called the child's father who was in another town and told him that his son was very sick . She ordered him to leave what he was doing and come immediately as his son needed only his blood to survive. To put the story briefly, the little baby died an hour later while the dad was still on the way. By the way, Plato said: **better** **be** **unborn** **than** **untaught**, **ignorance** **is** **the** **root** **of** **misfortune** . **Ignorance** **is** **an** **enemy** **even** **to** **its** **owner!!** **Meet** **my** **magnanimous** **and** **humble** **sponsors**. **They** **are** **one** **thousand** **percent** **sweet** At the begining of the year, I was told that my aunty have been with fibroids for a long time and she had decided to get rid of them once and for all. The doctor had told her that she didn't have enough blood in her system that would be required for the surgery. She would have to be infused with four pints of blood before the surgery can be done successfully. My cousin called and told me that they had already gotten three donors and they were seriously looking for a fourth volunteer. She asked me whether I could help find someone who would be willing to donate a pint blood. Actually I couldn't think of anyone at that time but I immediately rushed down to the hospital to see my aunt. At that moment, I remembered that I was a universal donor, I had known my blood group and genotype ever since I was a kid. I told my aunt that I was willing to give her my blood. But to my surprise, I saw the look of disapproval in her eyes, then she said that she doesn't need me to donate blood for her. My aunt said that women were not supposed to donate their blood. According to her, women are always losing quite a volume of blood regularly through the monthly menstrual flow.So it wouldn't be appropriate for a woman to lose more blood from her body especially through transfusion as a larger volume of blood is being extracted from the body. She told me to call my dad instead. I had to control myself from laughing when she said this. I tried to explain to her in the most simplest term that the monthly menstrual flow of a woman had absolutely nothing to do with the total PCV ( packed cell volume ) of her red blood cells. The blood flow that comes out every month was from dessicated egg cells which had to leave a woman's body in order for her to be able to maintain an optimal reproductive health. Aunty was still not fully convinced( don't blame her though) but she reluctantly accepted my request to donate some blood to her. At the lab, my blood was screened and certified alright for the procedure. It was also confirmed that I was O+ and AA. As a man or woman, weather you donate your blood or not, after every three months, the erythrocytes ( red blood cells) in your body would be destroyed by the liver and the spleen as they have already completed their life span. New blood cells would now be formed at the bone marrow of the long bones of the arms and legs. So, why not donate some of your red blood cells now to save a life before it becomes worn out and expired. As a matter of fact, this would increase the rate at which new and pristine blood cells are pumped into the body system. I have heard rumors before, that the reason why some folks are afraid to donate blood is because there are some mischevious doctors and nurses that would sell their bloods to evil men which would then be used for money rituals. I find this claim very ridiculous and laughable I know of a guy in school who always donates a pint of blood every three months at the national blood transfusion service in my country ( state teaching hospital branch). He says that's his own quota he contributes to humanity. He even looks healtheir and stronger than a lot of folks who had never donated their blood before. As for me, it feels really good being a universal donor. I am quite sure that you are too because universal donors make about 60% of the human population. Isn't God so wonderful? He made this possible so that we could help save the lives of others . I have donated my blood twice this year and I plan to do it again at least four times in 2022 and I mean it. After all, Christ shed his blood on the cross for us all. So, I am challenging you my dear friend , this year, donate some atleast to the nearest blood bank. Do it for human race. This is one of the greatest form of charity Oh, and I almost forgot, there's would also be a special prize for you even before you donate..... You gotta have an HIV test, free of charge! Hahahahaha. ******************************** To all my sponsors, subscribers, commenters and up voters, Thank you so much for your continual love and support. Wishing you all a blessed and glorious new year. Yours lovely 💗💗💗💗 Bilqees I
