Have you ever felt that when you are surrounded by many people you start to feel bad, i.e. sweat, feel fear or even fear of being judged? If this has happened to you, don't worry, we will address this issue below.

This is called social anxiety, which is an intense and persistent fear of being observed and judged by others. It influences work, school or even other daily activities. This can make it difficult to make and keep friends.

People who tend to suffer from social disorder, present symptoms of anxiety or fear in certain or all social situations, that is to say, when they meet new people, have a date or a job interview. They are afraid of being humiliated, judged and rejected.

However, these are some signs and symptoms that people with this type of anxiety usually suffer from:

  • Anxiety about feeling embarrassed or humiliated.

  • Fear of having physical symptoms that may cause discomfort, such as blushing, sweating or shaking

  • Stop doing certain activities or stop talking to certain people for fear of being embarrassed.

  • Anxiety or fear in social situations.

  • Fear of interacting or conversing with strangers.

  • Tremors, sweating, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, among other physical symptoms.

The comfort level varies depending on the individual, i.e., some are reserved by nature, and others are extroverted. However, life experiences also play a role.

One of the causes of this anxiety is the environment, i.e. it can be an acquired behavior, being developed also after a very unpleasant or really uncomfortable social situation. It is also influenced by the relationship between parents and children.

  • Establish priorities in your life, such as dedicating time to things you really enjoy doing.

  • Keep a personal diary, as it can help you identify what is the cause of your stress, embarrassment, among others.

It is hard bottling up feelings. It is okay to process our feelings. We should always look forward to positivity.
