Yoga is a word that appears very often in the media and has become an international term. However, despite the fact that almost everyone has heard of Yoga, many know very little about it.

Yoga is certainly more than a designed method for perfecting the body, but what is it really?

Yoga is the science of body, mind and spirit. The physical part of Yoga consists of Asanas - exercises and postures that develop the body and Pranayama - breathing exercises. Mental development in Yoga is achieved through breathing exercises, concentration exercises and meditation.

The physical benefits you can expect from exercise are, among others, improved circulation, increased elasticity of all muscles, greater strength and resistance to disease. Yoga pays special attention to the spinal column, whose increased elasticity not only results in good health, but also successfully combats the many difficulties that people in the 21st century suffer from. Asanas stretch, massage and stimulate not only muscles, but also internal organs and glandular system. Pranayama is effective against bad breathing, which is very common. Controlled breathing techniques activate otherwise inactive chest muscles.

The lungs fill to their full capacity and oxygen uptake is improved. The blood is purified of toxins, and the lungs expand and strengthen. Through Yoga, all parts of our body are stimulated in order to function as a whole in the best health, calm and relaxed.

Yoga is a precious gift of Indian sages, Yogi, to the world. The science they have developed over hundreds and thousands of years, arose from their desire to help people in all possible living conditions, without the use of instruments, drugs and other external means. They wanted a method that would depend only on what every man already had: his body, mind and spirit.

Yoga is simple and natural and does not consist of many things but only one; it is a complete system that leads to unity.

There are various motives for practicing Yoga. Some may want to do it only for the sake of physical health, others to learn to concentrate, and some to practice because of certain philosophical beliefs and to gain inner peace and balance. Whatever your goal, you should start with the basic Asanas and Pranayama (body and breathing exercises).

You should not exercise too much, but you should not be careless either. If you practice according to the instructions, you can be sure that you will reap the fruits of your labor. But be patient. So, have confidence, self-confidence, develop your willpower, ability to concentrate, your faith and love with the help of Yoga.

Jedan čovjek pobjedio je corona virus bas zbog znanja pravilnog disanja. Ja vjerujem da je pravilno disanje vrlo potrebno. Jogu bas i neznam da radim..al pokušam više puta pravilno da dišem.

A study from the University of Waterloo showed that practicing 25 minutes of yoga a day has a positive effect on brain functions and improves performance in solving tasks. Physical exercises such as yoga affect energy levels and the cognitive side of the brain. Also, by exercising, the body produces endorphins, circulation improves, and the brain functions better and more focused. "Although this is still open for debate, the results of research have shown that yoga improves brain function," the study states.
